How to Change Your PSN Username on the PS4

To change your PSN username on the PS4, simply follow these steps.

Go to Settings

From the PS4’s dashboard, scroll up to the top menu and select the toolbox item labelled ‘Settings’.

Manage Your Online ID

Once you’re in ‘Settings’, click through the following items: ‘Account Management’ > ‘Account Information’ > ‘Profile’ > ‘Online ID’.

Change Your PSN Username

From this screen, you can either enter a PSN username of your choice, or select a custom one from the list of suggestions generated.

Complete the Online ID Change

You’ll need to click through a few more options to complete the PSN username change. If this is your first change, then it’ll be free of charge; any subsequent incur a £7.99/$9.99 charge. If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, then you’ll get a discount to £3.99/$4.99.
