@riceNpea Once you complete the campaign there are 3 additional characters you can then play through with, all with unique abilities that will encourage you to change your playstyle as a result.
@ThorsHammer GT7 and a firewall ultra are also both 1st party (albeit one of those not living up to expectation). Rather than studio perhaps the focus should be on what's exclusive, where you can throw REVillage and shortly RE4 into the mix, which were both heavily funded by Sony.
A roadmap for new titles is so overdue though, although that extends to flat PS5 games too. Sony has been coasting lately and not showing very much at all that's in the pipeline.
@Jaz007 yeah really not sure what people claiming it's dead are on about, like seriously were you expecting AAA bangers each week or something?
The PS5 itself has about 3 legitimate new-gen only games so far. There's been a pandemic that started 3 years ago significantly impacting studios that everyone seems to have forgotten about that was right in the development time frame of most games.
That said, I think Sony's silence about upcoming 1st party titles is insulting (and that includes regular PS5 games too which people seems also to forget) which feeds the sentiment, which no doubt impacts the interest of potential new buyers.
@gabuloid really? I've found it absolutely awesome. Could obviously do with more marketing from Sony/a first party titles roadmap but other than that it's stacked with games. Even with what ports it has most of them are the best version of that game.
As someone who didn't already have quest or PCVR I'm absolutely stoked with it. GT7, Pavlov and RE8 alone made it worth the price of admission and there's tonnes more than that. Easily the best gaming experiences I ever had.
@LordAinsley Yep finally bought it last week and it's great. I don't even usually like rail shooters like that but it's high quality, including the visuals.
@Art_Vandelay it hadn't missed the tone of the reply but I didn't think anyone had actually heard from them on it yet. If that's really their response it's disgraceful.
@Art_Vandelay like I said, keen to hear what they've actually got to say for themselves post-release about it. A lot of people were super keen on this and so far it's been blatantly falsely advertised.
@SoulChimera they unambiguously said that it would be playable in full: "If you go into battle with your PS VR2 as your flight helmet, you’ll feel the rush of combat across the entire game experience, too."
Gonna need an explanation from the devs on this, hope it's a good one haha.
@Gooseman42 the way this has been released is an absolute joke. Hoping that there's a legitimate bug here given the whole original campaign is playable on PCVR but Sony really needs to pick up their QA practises.
Wipeout Omega Collection is the kind of low-hanging fruit PSVR2 is crying out for. Doesn't need controller tracking so theoretically could be an easier port to develop than some of the other PSVR1 titles.
@Hoodie718 you're aware you can manually alter your boundaries to give yourself room scale yeah? Doesn't seem like the kind of game where your arms would be flailing about etc. so should be able to get away with it.
@hookedWORM17 prime example of a game those with no knowledge of VR IPs sleep on. A mate of mine tried the VR with GT7 and Pavlov (not even RE8) and immediately understood it was good value just for the experience and replay ability of those 2 titles alone
@hookedWORM17 they really improved the sound lately too, it was poor before the pc xplay patch (my own footsteps sounded like someone running behind me etc).
Some great quality of life upgrades added, just need (lots) more maps now!
Really wish the focus would shift to new IPs (or even sequels) rather than remakes. This wasn't a thing until relatively recently and is contributing to the lack of new titles. Sure, games like the last of us part 1 are great but I'd much prefer something new to look forward to, it all feels a bit lazy despite the amount of work involved.
Just got an email from meta advertising the quest 3 starting at $829.99 AUD (50 Australian pesos less than the PSVR2). Very little difference for such a lesser piece of hardware.
I wonder if all the same people paying out Sony for the cost of their headset will afford Meta the same privilege, or if they'll perhaps finally accept that technology comes at a cost that not everyone can afford.
Really just looks like they're throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks with how generic these live service games are. Can almost guarantee that won't be a winning approach just trying to emulate splatoon and others.
Seems an unpopular opinion but I think $70 is actually pretty good, particularly for giant games like GTA. These games cost so much time and money to produce to meet everyones expectations of being bigger, better and more graphically impressive, yet gamers think they shouldn't cost a penny more, even despite inflationary pressures added into the mix.
It's not cheap clothes being made in a sweat shop, it's a huge production that offers hours and hours of value. I want things cheaper too so buy plenty at sales, but I'm not going to begrudge them pricing something reasonably.
Imagine how great all these cross-gen games will play on a PS5 Pro!
In seriousness though, should this be true it's an absolute joke given the lack of optimised titles for the current system, how dare it need an upgrade already when people haven't even been able to get it and there's only been a small handful of current gen gamesreleased so far.
@Bez87 not sure about complaining you need to buy games for it, particularly given how much more immersive they are, but completely agree that a tech demo similar to what the original PSVR had is sorely lacking and really seems like it should have been a no brainer.
@Bez87 no guarantee of course but my theory is something similar for PSVR2 early adopters with some classic titles as the full retail release of the headset is 3 days later on May 12th.
Sony have been dead silent on VR2 ports of games like astrobot rescue mission and Wipeout etc. and this would make the headset a far more compelling option given the price tag.
@itsfoz really keen to see what the VR Alien game is like that's coming out. Set between the first 2 movies apparently and will be both VR and regular flatscreen. Really hoping it's more horror than action.
@NEStalgia well GT7 is available on PS4 also and is now up in the digital charts also, despite not having had a discount int he last month on the PS store. Pretty confident it's driven by VR which is good to see. REVillage is the same boat. Been out for ages but now one of the top selling PS titles.
@Deljo you need Pavlov on PSVR2. Graphics are great, super immersive control scheme and various different modes each with completely different game play.
Pavlov and GT7 alone make the price worth it IMO. Got a bunch of games still sitting there untouched cause these 2 are so good!
While they did go back on what they'd initially said regarding the PS Plus version getting a free upgrade, getting the while PSVR2 version for the price of a DLC is still worth it.
Small upgrades fees are reasonable IMO, particularly if you didn't purchase a game outright in the first place.
@NEStalgia You're welcome. I've got a big catalogue of release VR2 games but between this and GT7 very few of them have had any of my time this past week haha. Good problem to have though.
@NEStalgia to be clear, you can play this without voice chat, but TTT is based largely on communication. The other modes are all pretty good too, it's basically counterstrike in VR.
TTT is some of the funniest ***** I've ever played though and the lobbies have been overwhelmingly positive spaces so far.
@Chibbie Try angling the headset more on your head, with the back of the strap lower than the top of your ears and the front of the strap very high on the forehead. I tweaked this further for myself today and found it massively helped with fining the sweet spot. If you're finding the headset digging into the bridge of your nose at all then you should raise the front of the strap even higher.
Also push the button on the back to loosen the strapto help getting it on, if you haven't already, as it would definitely be a squeeze trying to get it on as it comes out fo the box. Hope that helps a bit.
