Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Ghost of Yotei?

kuu_nousee

Played about 7 hours and it feels samey but slightly better than Tsushima. The weapons are better but the parrying and group fights still only feel okay/good sometimes. The sword drop throw insta-kills are funny/nice to get the fights over with. I still feel like the combat needs a big overhaul but it's okay enough to play in 1v1 and 1v2 battles. I'd give probably a 7.5, maybe 8.5 if the combat and skill tree gets better over the next 10-20 hours but I doubt it. It's a perfectly fine/good 1st party game that is worth your time but not ground breaking. Absolutely glad I rented this game, definitely will be play to finish then never ever touch again types of games just like Tsushima.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Borderlands 4?

kuu_nousee

I'll play 3-5 hours of the PS5 version from Gamefly then the disc is going back in the mail.

I just want to see if the gameplay truly changed. The performance sounds absolutely dreadful so we will see if I make it past hour 1 or 2 even before ejecting the disc.

Silent Hill f is within 10 days anyways and is priority 1 of 2025 then just a week after that Yōtei also.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS1 at Launch?

kuu_nousee

No I was buying an N64. I tried to rent one from Blockbuster with Warhawk & Doom but they were so hard to come by when that was happening.Though I did play my friends PS1 a few times. Destruction Derby was so crazy back then.

Re: Everyone's Wondering Whether Sony Will Block PS5 Games on Xbox's Rumoured PC Hardware

kuu_nousee

As someone in the PS, Nintendo, Xbox & PC ecosystems for a long time it's funny to think people are being so naive about Sony blocking their games. I'd imagine it will happen, not because they hate Xbox or anything. This just really comes down to business for them. If they wanted to make more money on Helldivers 2 for example they would have put the game on Series consoles by now.

I'd expect if Sony does end up putting games on Xbox consoles it would be 2-3 years after the start of a generation. That time has passed for this gen of consoles. Maybe in 2030 or so it might be a possibility after they get PS6 a few years & exclusives out the door.

Times definitely are changing but it seems like it will be a slow crawl before Sony does end up giving in, fully. My guess is 2031 after we are halfway through next gen.

Re: Rumour: Next-Gen Xbox a 'PC in Essence' - What Would That Mean for PlayStation?

kuu_nousee

PlayStation 6 will be the last "traditional console".
If Xbox is PC/console hybrid & handheld and Nintendo Switch 2 is for sure Handheld/docked console then that's it.

PS6 will be the only option now.
In my opinion: whatever they decided this themselves and/or by console/handheld/PC purchases. I know they [Microsoft] will regret it because they are not Nintendo.

Re: Phil Spencer Posits Generative AI Tech Preserving Old Games, Called 'Idiotic' by Expert

kuu_nousee

@Orpheus79V I'm primarily Xbox (well have been until this generation now more PS5) and I think it's extremely early/alpha and borderline useless unless they can port old games without source code to say a new game engine on current generation hardware.

It might be a good tool for something for games but it is way too overblown. I.e. should be a blog post at most in its current state.

Re: Reaction: The PS5 Discourse Around State of Plays Is Becoming Draining

kuu_nousee

Being someone that was normally on the Xbox and Nintendo sister sites more than here for years unfortunately I think the same process is happening to PlayStation.

A few 1st party games get cancelled or not shown for almost a year or more and people start to panic and cannot find any other 1st party games to look forward to release in the short-term and become disenfranchised with the brand, the company, the platform and the "box".

I for one have been in this process with Xbox but primarily due to lack/weak physical games support and lack of mass adoption of Play Anywhere while enforcing digital games primarily for their platform.

Take some time away sites/forums, research games your are really interested in, or play an old favorite while time passes. PlayStation seems still focused on new IP and old IP but new AAA entries take 4-7 years to happen. It just is how this industry is now. Something we all have to deal with.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Failed Because It Wasn't Live Service, EA CEO Seems to Suggest

kuu_nousee

Battlefield, Apex/Titanfall, Medal of Honor could be a strong get for a live service game. But traditional RPGs don't have to be shoehorned into that to be successful. Just make a solid game ffs.

It failed because it was a mediocre RPG and not great writing for majority of the game. It's more having "Disney-fied" conversions which just the structure of them gets old fast. I've heard the ending is good though but myself haven't made it that far.

The gameplay is fun, really fun. It's one of few bigger budget games that didn't have technical issues on any console or even PC, which is extremely rare.

Also people didn't buy it in some capacity because the art style didn't match what they expected or wanted it to have.

It just sounds like poor management and creative decisions on the core of writing and visuals, that's it. Otherwise it was a success.

Re: Former Rockstar Animator Doubtful GTA 6 Will Run at 60fps on PS5

kuu_nousee

@Hyena_socks PS5 is over 4 years old no matter what has or hasn't released nor how long people waited or had to wait to get one. I have ~40 disc PS5 already and we will get a PS6 in 2.5 years from now.

Too be honest me personally the PS5 is already loosing its luster and I'm ready for next gen this fall or early next year. So I'll lean on my PC more until PS6 is here.

Re: BioWare Downsizing as It Focuses on Next Mass Effect, Some Staff Moved to Other EA Teams

kuu_nousee

@AlexPorto meh, the writing even if it was cinematic and interesting (sometimes and in bits here and there) if it was a movie script it would have fallen flat and probably never made or straight to Netflix. The character development and gameplay is what kept me involved in ME3 and the main reason it succeeded when it did.

They freaking made a new ending after launch, if that doesn't tell you how the story landed overall for the masses then your fooling yourself even if YOU like it.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Live Service Push Has Been a Disaster of Utterly Insane Proportions

kuu_nousee

Looking like Microsoft might fill in the gaps making console gaming even more confusing for us.

By next generation it won't be "just buy all consoles" it will be "pick a handheld and console so you can play all games available. Still didn't see Sony dropping the ball with so many games live service or not, yes even some of the single players games have been very lacking (Xbox and Nintendo did too to be fair).

Now we will have studios for PlayStation that might release ZERO games from start of PlayStation 5 to before PlayStation 6 is available. Not even Microsoft will likely fail to do that even if they release next generation consoles first. Truly bizarre times.

Re: PS5 Pro Bettered as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Reveals PC Specs, Features

kuu_nousee

@Bamila It was ALWAYS going to be sub DLSS4 and sub FSR4 in quality and features. How? PS5 Pro is only RDNA3.5. Mostly RDNA3 with some RDNA4 features. It was up to PlayStation to get their AI upscaled up to snuff in a very short time. Maybe PSSR2 will be in the realm of the current versions of DLSS/FSR when the PS6 comes out.

Re: Mark Cerny Basically Confirms PS6 Partnership with AMD in PS5 Pro Tech Deep Dive Video

kuu_nousee

@Luigia PS5 has been pushed in wrong ways (Unreal 5 chasing PC AI or higher core count features). We will have to wait until Naughty Dog's, Santa Monica's, Kojima's, or Insomniac's games to comes out on an internal PlayStation engine to see if PlayStation 5 can be optimized to suit its strengths. Otherwise this gen of PS5 hardware was a bit too weak and was a rushed pre-COVID machine to have PS4 games run at ~1440p~60fps and/or (I'm afraid to say likely) PS6 games running at 900p~30fps.

Re: Intergalactic PS5 Is Naughty Dog's Wildest, Most Creative Story Yet

kuu_nousee

The one thing not talking about that actually matters: gameplay.
Most of NDs newer games have semi-impactful melee on the grisly side but is grounded.
The main character running and jumping off a rock for a more cinematic attack isn't normally in their wheelhouse.

This is likely to play a bit more "float-y' and exaggerated due to being sci-fi, not completely set in realism and Earth based physics/rules.

I think people are jumping to conclusions what exactly this game is going to end up being. Let's wait until more than 2-3 seconds of in engine potential gameplay shows up.

Re: PS5 Pro Has a Remarkable Impact on Unpatched Games

kuu_nousee

@TechaNinja this right here, an actual CPU upgrade with lots more hardware power and features especially version 2 of PSSR.

BUT as of now if you live in US we will have more tariffs on goods. So I'm expecting $700 for PS6 when it could have been $500-$600. Sad times ahead.

Re: PS5 Pro Has a Remarkable Impact on Unpatched Games

kuu_nousee

@Waitinonpsvr2 it's the launch day of the console, why wouldn't there is an overload of articles for the people that bought in? Those of us that are waiting for PS6 with a gigantic CPU uplift, more RAM, and PSSR2 will get the same amount of articles (if not more when PS6 launches). And will all people that don't buy into PS6 just not care about this site for PS5 games news? A bit silly.
