Re: PS5 Pro Shows Real Promise in First Expert Analysis

kuu_nousee

@OldGamer999 native 4k is a waste of $ and hardware until we are pushing 16k screens with AI upscaling. A 4090 can barely do native 4k at decent framerates in current AAA games in late 2024. If that doesn't tell you what's happening in the world of graphic feature improvements then what devs making AAA games want isn't want gamers want. PS6 will likely hard pressed to outright beat a 5090 in 2027/2028. So how is PS6 gonna get native 4k in AAA games for 2030+ games? It will be AI upscaling and PSSR.

Re: Sony Flop Concord Axed Two Weeks After PS5, PC Release

kuu_nousee

@crossbit yep you make good points.

AA isn't bad versus AAA but mostly when I've seen people say basically "kill all the GaaS games for single player games" their focus is mostly on only wanting AAA exclusive single player games from PlayStation based on comments.

Your right AAA games and the forever profit are gonna kill this industry or at least some companies along the way, especially when they don't sell enough to profit then fund the next similar game.

Re: PS5, PC Shooter Concord Dead on Arrival, Is Being Taken Offline This Week as Dev 'Explores Options'

kuu_nousee

@CielloArc We hoping for Helldivers 2 as well then? We don't need to lump games into the same bin.

Remember that the GaaS initiative for Sony was to increase income to produce more in house single player games at PlayStation for the future. This is a huge negative dent into that and who knows might delay or take some single player games from AAA to AA quality.

No one should be rooting for failure.

@BloodyBlact This isn't correct, they are a month apart just share the same day. Even the authors post still haven't changed to the correct date...still. Always verify on PSN and/or Amazon. This page even links to a preorder for the physical version that is Nov 8th 2024.

SH2 - Oct 8th (Deluxe digital Oct 5th)
Slitterhead - Nov 8th (PSN shows Nov 7th digital)

Re: Atlus Really Doesn't Want You to Know Metaphor: ReFantazio Is Coming to PS5

kuu_nousee

@QiaraIris people did for Blue Dragon and for Lost Odyssey, not like FF13 numbers but still it was a push at that time.

I mean come on if you owned Sega and Xbox asked and paid you millions for exclusive marketing wouldn't you take the money even though it still comes to PS5 and Steam without any delay? Of course you would.

No ones looses nobody misses out on the game day one. Everyone knows how marketing deals work. Look at COD deals for PlayStation since PS4 era this is no different.

Re: PS5, PC FPS Concord's Poor Player Numbers Have Predictably Gone Viral

kuu_nousee

The problem I don't have is it is a multiplayer game.

The problem I do have is Concord can be fun sometimes, though it isn't doing anything to keep me long-term.

As people stated before even playing the beta it looked like a Destiny 2 PVP mode with Overwatch types of characters in a Guardians of the Galaxy art style. And that is EXACTLY what the game turned out to be besides the characters no one cares about, the story isn't there, the gameplay per 'hero' isn't motivating enough to stick with or like anyone at all imo. The annoying quips they say are sometimes more than annoying. The limited animations per character got old after less than playing 10 matches.

It is a bummer this is the final product and maybe it will get 3x more content over the next year but it needs that day one.

Re: Reaction: It's Time for Xbox to Tell Us Which Games It's Bringing to PS5, and Which Games It Isn't

kuu_nousee

@Godot25 Seems you don't see what other companies are doing in the similar space. PlayStation.

Sony just did an an investor presentation and stated when their 1st party games are coming to PC. So this isn't unheard of by companies to announce release or delayed release cadence to other platforms.

Investors ABSOLUTELY care about this and they are part of the general public fyi. College Football 25 came out to only to current generation consoles, Series S being the cheapest current gen console. So they bought that because price. If Sony has the cheapest console more sales would have been there. Not relevant to the conversation just a newer console exclusive game that fit the situation that price wins for the masses.

You stated you trust the insiders option more any "average joe" me I guess. Yet Jason is one of the top of not top journalists and leakers/if information is has multiple confirmations. 🤷

Hard to keep up with how many backtracks your doing now too. Anyways I'm gonna bow out of this conversation as you just ignore newer facts/things happening inside and outside the gaming industry.

@Godot25 Jason Schreier -
[Bloomberg - Game On] Xbox’s ‘Exclusive’ Video Game Strategy Leaves Everyone Confused
https://t.co/AYsfH33YLf

Same for Kinda Funny. Greg, Mike, and Parris all saying similar to what I'm saying TODAY. What you brought up has been true but I think the conversation has moved on to other problems for Xbox.

"they can pivot their strategy"
This is the problem. Publicly they keep doing this (altering statements/lying however you want to see it) and it looks like they don't know what the f*** they are even doing anymore.

Re: Reaction: It's Time for Xbox to Tell Us Which Games It's Bringing to PS5, and Which Games It Isn't

kuu_nousee

@Godot25 I think your right on the front Xbox doesn't owe anything to PlayStation users, the reality is they/we/us are just here if someone decides to make a game on the PS platform (where the majority of console gamers are).

About a statement like the one I created - Yeah it isn't true per se, right now....publicly. But it could very much be true internally at Xbox and more dire than we know. They just spent billions of dollars and haven't seen that return. Scraping away to find that return is in full force right now with new internal games on Xbox/PC (just on time), refreshes to Xbox hardware (which are not needed), and the price/tier increases/changes to GamePass (unneeded and stated not happening). There is a reason for all of this happening and it's because the division has to get out of the financial hole Microsoft allowed them get in just for the Call of Duty IP and King mobile. I'm sure there will be ramifications if they cannot show on time sale expectations vs what Microsoft is expecting in the next few years. They are putting out gargantuan bets out to stop extreme changes from happening but we have no idea if it pay off yet. This is the most 'do or die' for Xbox situation then they have ever been in.

Phil just said "there will even more changes coming" at Gamescom. That statement could also be referring a backtrack on Sarah's statement this year on "building the most powerful Xbox console" in the works. NO ONE has asked any questions since Phil's new generic statements at Gamescom about if that is related to next gen hardware. Is it still planned even? Who knows until officially announced.

This is the only thing we have to go by their "we are continuing to learn" statements over 2024. For who Satia? Their income deficit every quarter? Internal business is always super messy with buyouts so don't count out strange or outright more backtracking statements to come imo. If the income doesn't happen for Xbox the more aggressive changes will come. Like Phil said "we are a business", so don't think this is not this like any other big business in any other sector outside the video games industry. The best way you could describe Xbox as a brand right now is 'volatile'.

Re: Reaction: It's Time for Xbox to Tell Us Which Games It's Bringing to PS5, and Which Games It Isn't

kuu_nousee

@GeeForce it can be a simple blanket statement. They don't have to list any games by name, just say something like:

"Any game built by Xbox in the past, present, or future can eventually come to other video games platforms like Switch or PlayStation 5. With that said we will continue to keep Xbox consoles the home of GamePass to build upon for generations to come with new console hardware".

See it's not hard I can create a Phill Spencer speech just thinking about the way he's worded them in the past. Answered everything we all want to know about games where and dedication to Xbox consoles ongoing.

Re: Reaction: It's Time for Xbox to Tell Us Which Games It's Bringing to PS5, and Which Games It Isn't

kuu_nousee

Agreed, as someone that primarily is on PC and Xbox but has started to play more PS5 this year its time for Xbox, PS, and Switch gamers to know.

If it's everything first party old and new then just say it they are coming with variable delays and stop beating around the bush (and stop lying). Say you still plan to support the Xbox console too long-term even if nothing is console exclusive anymore.

It's not hard to appease everyone, be truthful and let people make decisions now if keeping and/or buying an Xbox console is worth it anymore. For many it will be but for some let them know it's okay to just wait for games to come over time without wasting time and money on another console.

Hell Xbox might get some praise and even more game sales for telling it like it is going to be.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Black Myth: Wukong?

kuu_nousee

Later on PC possibly with patches or in reality we get GPUs 2-3 times beefier than a 4080/4090.

Console not until they can fix multiple issues on PS5 I'd personally feel like are game breaking. Also due to the current issues NOT digitally so I'd only take the chance on a physical PS5 release. Or a PS6 native version that was a significant upgrade in hardware.

Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns

kuu_nousee

@DennisReynolds I've watched the Digital Foundry review and it looks really bad even in quality mode. Like worse than most medium settings on PC, which is unfortunate.

Though playing the game it seems doesn't have as many problems. Which is great, glad it works at least at an "acceptable level" due to an almost always 60fps but looks very blocky and pixelated in performance mode with frame generation. The input latency was said to be VERY poor on performance mode and is much better on balanced mode.

I doubt I could play at this on PS5 in this state but good luck if you do.

But think about this. Performance mode isn't on high/very high/ cinematic likely for any settings, ray tracing isn't on its off, it isn't a perfect 60fps AND REQUIRES frame generation to get close to 60fps. When you think about it that way those issues are written you'd think I was talking about how a game was downgraded from PS4/XB1 consoles to run on Switch as a impossible port situation.

Re: Preview: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Grows in the Right Ways for Anticipated Remake

kuu_nousee

I was always instead in this one especially since it was going to use UE5 features on console.

These previews just shot my interest to the moon. Still a bit worried on the difficulty with the change of combat in over the shoulder view.

Though a huge change from the last few previews, as they just should have waited until this media/cut was available.

Most importantly a game on UE5 that doesn't look like it has major performance issues on PS5 cough Wukong cough

Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns

kuu_nousee

@Loamy yep I'd say your on the right path of thinking. I think a more acceptable version of this game will only be on PS5 Pro this gen sadly.

And by the time PS6 is out just BC will iron out some of the flaws for this game if the graphics mode has texture/setting issues and performance mode if frame drops are still present.

Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns

kuu_nousee

@Loamy If any settings on PS5 are medium I'd be shocked. Most of it will be low. Hopefully it's TSR as TSR vs FSR3 is night and day better looking much less shinny/artifacts in the benchmark tool.

My guess on PS5 is all setting low, 720p TSR upscaled to 1440p, low 40fps to rarely 60fps in performance mode. Quality mix of low and a few medium settings upscaled 1080p to 1600-1800p forced 4k with a decently solid 25-30fps.

Only way to get solid fps is if they opt for frame generation on PS5. Hopefully that does happen but that also means FSR upscaled instead of FSR as that wasn't available on PC. TSR + frame generation was greyed out/unavailable.

Re: Bungie to Reveal the Future of Destiny and Its Next Multi-Year Journey Soon

kuu_nousee

I played a lot of D1 on about every platform. A flawed fun game then D2 came and was just a absolute rollercoaster in a bad way mostly for 7+ years. Gambit was the true shining star in that mixed bag of story and expansions. The gunplay and movement is what kept Destiny alive. It just felt too good to play.

Honestly 'Destiny' is done and it should have been done if D3 was never planned years ago.

They need to get Marathon in a absolute aggressively impressive state to wow back fans. Then possibly keep it going via expanding on modes and make single player content over time to get new players to join and try to get hooked on multiplayer.

Bungie was the leader in their FPS "space" for so long if they can't do it with Marathon maybe it's time for a company full reset or split into different companies within Sony if the " Bungie magic" is gone as a large entity.

Re: The Order: 1886 Dev Ready at Dawn to Close After VR Stint

kuu_nousee

One of the first if not first ultra wide console games. Super short but fun and was blasted and panned due that issue. Likely not bought by Sony just because review scores.

This industry is getting worse everyday imo. Ruined good developers lives. Whatever I loved my time with The Order 1886 and was a huge reason for me to get a PS4 along with Driveclub.

Re: Training Modes, No Battle Pass, More Details Confirmed for Concord in Post-Beta Q&A

kuu_nousee

Definitely from the betas content doesn't look to be robust at all. Far from it, almost embarrassingly barebones.

Generally the game feels like the tacked on multiplayer mode on games in the 360/PS3 era (which is awesome) but in the current generation of consoles. It's very strange.

In some ways I like the art, the world, and some of the characters when you work as a team.
In others the game is too slow, I don't get the story, there is far too little to do, and the variations of characters seems kind of lame (so far).

They need to prove the amount of content coming and the speed of which we are getting maps, NEW characters, modes, and content. Saying it's coming is fine and we'll but we need a date like the release date of new content incoming.

Feels like a huge gamble at $40, could be dead within 1-2 months.

Re: Preview: There's Nothing Super About Marvel Rivals on PS5

kuu_nousee

"Say what you will about Concord, but to us, that game feels good to play".

I got bored after trying half of the 'heroes' in less than 2 hours. Concord if anything should be at least delayed for more content if it's going to be $40. Also look at the Steam beta numbers, they will have to make a free to play version sooner than later to keep it alive.

Re: Former Free Radical Devs Offer Tantalizing Look at Cancelled TimeSplitters Concept Art

kuu_nousee

@RadioHedgeFund Perfect Dark had more single player focus and interesting guns/gadgets that's why it's more fondly remembered. Yet right now Microsoft is struggling to get the IP into a second game. They built a new studio and had to get assistance from another studio over time while most of the new built studio employees already left. It's bewildering to say the least.

Both were good but your comparing them when they are apples and oranges 2000s shooter IPs. Very different games and well opinions are opinions on which is better.

Re: Former Free Radical Devs Offer Tantalizing Look at Cancelled TimeSplitters Concept Art

kuu_nousee

That really sucks we didn't get to see a game with some of this content. Just a bad state games business is in currently.

I'd bet this couldn't get to a live service state so everything and everyone got shut down.
Or also it wasn't good enough to be an AAA great selling $70 single player experience with 'tacked on multiplayer' it also didn't get to the finish line.

The 'tacked on multiplayer ' is the heart of Timesplitters and not sure how that lives today without a lot of changes and concessions.

I hate to say it (and it truly sucks) we don't live in the early - mid 2000s anymore. Now companies/investors need financial promise of money/sales/monthly users/etc. so a need for million(s) seller AAA or it's a live service otherwise the support goes away.

Re: Microsoft's Potential Game Plan in 2020: 'Spend Sony Out of Business'

kuu_nousee

@XenonKnight well you might be into something. A new article over at IGN is saying Nov 2021 they (Phil specifically listed) made a decision to switch all Bethesda games to exclusive moving forward. So they are backtracking on "case by case basis" now. What would stop them from doing this for COD or Diablo after the merger? A contract to specifically bring ATV to PlayStation would be the only thing that comes to mind. Sheesh what a damn rollercoaster.

Re: Publishers Don't Like 'Value Destructive' Subs Like Xbox Game Pass, Says Sony Boss

kuu_nousee

The reason to say this is to get the biggest cut from game sales as profit for Sony, and likely they cannot compete like a true GamePass even if they want to. It's common sense for PlayStation whom wants to grow in revenue only.

For Xbox it's more trivial to get income they want more of a hold on number of gamers. Like Microsoft said they have been in 3rd place since 2001. An constant uphill battle when they entered at a dominant PS2 era.

Re: CD Projekt Exec Suggests Cyberpunk 2077 Launch Not That Bad, Actually, Dunking 'Became a Cool Thing'

kuu_nousee

It was a poor launch on so many levels.
1. They didn't explain what was cut from E3 previews.
2. They didn't state there wasn't a PS5/Xbox Series native versions at launch.
3. Even being for PS4/Xbox One it ran like garbage, and should have been taken down from both digital game stores not just PSN.

This was a PC only game that was told to be made into a multiplatform game then the hype was place into the outer space. They tricked us all.

Re: Microsoft's Potential Game Plan in 2020: 'Spend Sony Out of Business'

kuu_nousee

@Fiendish-Beaver pretty much exactly this from the average gamer. Most people won't change unless at the start of a generation. As well the longer this gones on and the increase of games prices the harder it will get for Microsoft to get current gamers to switch. What they need to do is concentrate on getting newer gamers into GamePass or Series S at the cheap that haven't played consoles games before besides maybe on their phone.

Re: Microsoft's Potential Game Plan in 2020: 'Spend Sony Out of Business'

kuu_nousee

@XenonKnight No one in Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony are the "good guys", it's dirty business to make 'infinite profits'. People pretend to love an ecosystem that they are addicted to like a sports team. It's nature of most humans to be tribalistic if they don't think criticality about their actions/nature of their actions.

Re: Microsoft's Potential Game Plan in 2020: 'Spend Sony Out of Business'

kuu_nousee

@OrtadragoonX absolutely it is, same if Sony or Nintendo said it too. I personally don't want more mergers (if they happen just smaller companies) and rather just have either games being timed exclusive Sony deals or Xbox GamePass games.

It's honestly been not horrible the last few years (besides major releases of Final Fantasy lockout on Xbox). Microsoft just hasn't internally brought the games over the last 5 now really a full decade. What would make MORE sense would be to say buy Asobo Studios due to their fantastic work on Flight Simulator and the Plague Tale games. That would be similar to what Sony has done with with a few studios.

Re: Xbox Boss Wishy-Washy on Whether The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Come to PS6, PS5

kuu_nousee

@Nem Interesting how so many people believe what you believe: Microsoft is here to end competition. They just want to stick around in the gaming space in a platform capacity, they were last to launch of the 3 still in the console making business.

As far as Bethesda doesn't have a say, they are just like Bungie at PlayStation. They both do (they are outside the Xbox and Playstation structure) and can both release games to other platforms. Not sure why this isn't more known. Will Sony/Microsoft ask them to make exclusives sometimes too? Sure from both companies.

Buy into the corporate speak? No, I'm more in the logical camp. When I said "could" or "consider" happen that means can not all will for games coming to other platforms. As far as Bungie they are bringing Marathon to Xbox. Also Microsoft stated in court the plan for The Outer Worlds 2 still isn't set either, which means it could come to PlayStation. And Obsidian is within the Xbox Games Studios structure unlike Bethesda too.

My point is just like Microsoft is having to testify here in court about games that are in flux and they don't have definite answers yet, mostly due to development cost/time so how do you tell a court/FTC/Sony/the world your plan when a game is 2-5 years away? You're also borderline giving away your business plan in court for Sony to have and plan accordingly for the rest of PS5s life to navigate easily to gain even more ground on when to launch their exclusive games. Sure that's the risk Microsoft is willing to take this generation but for them it seems worth it for Activision (imo it isn't worth the time for Microsoft to do this as COD, Warcraft, StarCraft & Diablo are aging IPs that will slow down sooner than later).

Would it be nice Sony and Microsoft both had to go to court at the beginning of a console generation and tell us what games will definitely be exclusive for their consoles? Yeah it actually would so people didn't get confused and waste money on an unnecessary box. Unfortunately that's just not how the world works.

Your right there is a bunch of corporate speak and confusion in which Sony & Microsoft wants people guessing what to buy.
