Not a huge fan of Battle Royale but lately having a blast with Fortnite's Blitz Royale. Never been that into Fortnite, but this mode is only 5 minutes as opposed to 20, everyone starts with a unique weapon, smaller map, faster circle, no build...it's intense and fun and lots of rewards + XP. Hopefully a shorter BR option will be available in B6, I just find it more fun to jump in and do just one more.
D4 is awesome, I am 350 hours in and it's been a blast. I would first do the story on Eternal (rather than jumping into a season) and the campaign is actually very good. I'd also recommend looking up D4 Eternal Leveling Builds, plenty of sites (Maxroll, D4Builds, Icy Veins, Wowhead, etc) where you can follow a build to learn the ropes. It's also a very easy game to get into, perfect for casual players, and a huge amount of content and things to do. Happy to see it in PS+!
@PlatinumMikey I was pretty attached to Naoe for like 50-60 hours, so when Yasuke came up I was like, ok but I am good. Then I started following his quests/stories and they were great. I started playing with all the amazing builds possible and discovered he can become an absolute wrecking machine. And then you get the Kanabō! So he's been my main last 20 hours haha. Have not fully warmed up to a Ubisoft character since Kassandra, but now to have two in one game is awesome
@tameshiyaku I bounced off Outlaws because of the stealth but it's improved now, I keep meaning to get back to it. After Shadows I think Outlaws is next. Trying to get back to as well as finish some games before Borderlands 4 takes over my life.
They needed a hit and they got one, good for them. You can tell the work they put into this amazing game. I'm 80 hours in with 20% of the campaign done, and I can't wait to jump in tonight for more adventures
I think Nintendo’s higher prices on games are structured so it can now do more frequent sales and possibly lower prices as a title ages. Everyone knows that their first party titles (almost) never go on sale. Maybe this is changing to align with PS, XB, Steam, Epic, etc by having a lot of frequent sales.
@invictus4000 You don't have to create an account, it can make one for you. However..you should make one on the Infold website BEFORE playing on PS5 because then you can use that account and log in to the PS5 plus other versions on different platforms (iPhone, iPad, Window, Android, etc) and your progress is cross-saved.
Every update notes just say things like “tweaked stealth’ or “improved stealth flexibility” with no specific details. I’ve been waiting to get this game, but the vague tweaks don’t really give me an incentive. Or information. Does anyone really know what the new stealth changes really are?
@Steel76 Was the stealth easier? Or adjustable? I am still unclear on the changes. I have been holding off on getting it. I don't like stealth, and sure don't like re-failing over and over, so I was curious if it was not as big a deal now.
I wish they would just add a stealth difficulty adjustment, easy, normal and hard, or something like that. Ubi often, over time, adds more accessibility and granular difficulty adjustments to its games, so hopefully they'll get there.
Pre-ordered PS5 Pro, excited to try it out. I just checked, and pre-orders are still open (US)...Anniversary one is sold out but PS5 Pro still available.
Jumped on the site earlier, signed in, said hour wait, just left the browser tab up. After an hour it went to the PSN store, clicked and got one, PS5 Pro. Very impressed with the frictionless experience, no tab refreshes, just sit and wait your turn. I like how they require a PSN account to order as well.
This is awesome and great, fair price. I finished both games but never did Frozen Wilds, so I may start there. I could even see myself playing the game over again, it’s that good.
For those who didn’t see the difference, I realized Cerny’s presentation was being streamed in 1080p by other channels such as GameSpot. You had to go to Sony’s official stream to see it in actual 4K.
I'm in. For all that extra performance AND a 2TB drive, worth it for me. If you are worried about the price, in the U.S. PS5s on Ebay easily sell for $300-$400, dropping the Pro price to $300-$400. Plus there should be Black Friday sales coming up. The video contained pretty much everything I wanted, including listening to Mark Cerny's soothing ASMR voice. Thumbs up!
I have been concerned about the growing incorporation of rougelike and stealth in Ubisoft games. Starting with Valhalla and FarCry 6 DLCs. I kept bouncing off of Avatar because you are tasked with taking over large enemy bases throughout the campaign. You end up getting awesome weapons, bows and explosive guns, and come upon a base crawling with machines.
But the game wants you to tip toe in and disable all the (many) alarms. Tedious and not fun. Yes you can typically go in guns blazing, but if you do, it's a hard uphill battle with insta-fail restarts and your rewards when you actually do take the camp are cut in half because you did not use stealth like the game wanted you to.
I am a big Ubisoft fan, but once I heard of the stealth and insta-fail in SWO, I passed. I wish they would go back to "play your way" so all players could enjoy it. Devs talking about an early mission that is "incredibly punishing" is not getting me interested. Then they wonder why reviews were not higher.
I feel like Ubisoft is a leader in accessability and granular difficulty options, so hopefully they can add some tweaks to make it more enjoyable for a wider range of players.
@RaZieLDaNtE I think with SW Outlaws, people did not like the long stealth missions where because of spaced out checkpoints, set you back quite a bit if you are spotted. How are you finding this aspect? I was ready to order but the stealth stories were mentioned in many reviews, so I held off. This happened in Avatar too, you needed to take over bases but if you failed at any point you’d have to start over from scratch and take over the base all over again.
Spoiler alert...it’s a fun movie. Solid 7/10. Like the Fallout series, it’s great to be in this world for a couple hours. I have hundreds of hours in the games and if you enjoyed the games, chances are good you will enjoy the movie. I think the problem is if you have no knowledge of the games it may be a tougher sell. I think that is the problem with the critics, it’s just too weird. Only let down was the music. It’s so amazing in the games, but here it is done by a different composer I think and it does not have the same vibe. Otherwise I had fun! If you enjoyed the games, movie is worth a chance. If you have not played the games or bounced off them, maybe skip or wait for home video
Granular difficulty modes is the way to go in my opinion. I always love games that have difficulty levels along with a bunch of additional settings. And no modifiers. Some games like Starfield, Division 2, Diablo 4, etc. allow granular difficulty adjustments to make things easier or more suited to your play style, but then restrict XP earnings. Just give me all the granular settings and I can adjust as I wish. Horizon Forbidden West springs to mind as having great and granular difficulty settings with no modifier penalties.
Awesome promo! My fav game trailer of the past year is "Resistor - Announcement Trailer" but I think I like this one better. Such a good vibe and great music.
Because of the PS Portal I am back into Diablo IV, it's like the perfect game for the device. I have avoided the seasons, not wanting to restart with a new character, but for Season 4 I decided to give it a try. I am now up to almost the same level as my Eternal character and having a blast.
Way back, Blizzard at one point made D3 a crazy free for all with tons of monsters, rapid leveling, and rain storms of loot, and that is what happened with D4 with S4. I am playing the (highly recommended) Necromancer Minions build and as everyone has said it's so buffed and so fun to play. I was not going to follow any meta, but I did find an amazing build on Maxroll.gg called "Minion Necromancer Leveling Build Guide".
There is sort of a S4 plot with the Wolf's Honor system, but the main missions are literally like "Level up to Rank 7" so just by doing stuff you are always leveling fast. The Wolf's rewards for each rank/tier are pretty amazing gear, so it's worth checking in with them often to get your next upgrade.
I never used my Ultimate Edition Battle Pass, so I turned it on. The cosmetic rewards are fine and like all other systems, you keep earning and collecting and getting more and more loot. I am on level 3 Nightmare and rolling in merch, and it's not even that hard because you keep getting better and better gear.
So...never thought I would do a season, much less recommend doing a season, but it's the most fun I've had with D4!
My Time at Sandrock - Very delightful game, great style, graphics, sound. There is always something to do and it's a great game to just chill with.
Starfield - About 180 hours in, finished campaign (no NG) and still doing lots of missions, POI's, exploring planets. Gunplay is so tight and crunchy with some excellent weapons. Loading is a little pokey on X but much better with GeForce Now on G Cloud and on MacOS. It has that Bethesda hook, where hours can slip by and you are heading towards something and always getting sidetracked. Yes the Creation Engine is getting dated, but that gives it a sort of retro RPG feel. Compared to Fallout, it does not get weird, characters and plots are all pretty nice, except for the bad guys. Maybe the expansion will get a little crazy. I was hoping for Fallout in space and I (mostly) got it. I hope I can transfer my save to PS when it (hopefully) hits this fall! I will say the play anywhere aspect, or whatever it's called, is the best feature. Playing on Series X, jumping to GeForce Now on the G Cloud or on my Mac, X Cloud on the phone, all using the same saves all synced everywhere with no issues. PS needs to continue to expand more on the multiple devices and platforms with cross save.
PS Portal - Amazing device, a true Playstation experience. I have been using the Logitech G Cloud and it has been great. Nice to play multiple platforms and very portable with great screen and battery life. But forget about the G Cloud when you get the PS Portal. Great controls, amazing large screen, just so fun to play on. Only issue is all the buttons are black on black and under the back lip, I find them hard to reach and control. Also the unit is pretty large. But all that melts away when you start a game. Just an amazing device.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - I avoided all clips and videos so I went in fresh. The very beginning has a "leave the vault" scenario and when I first entered the world of Pandora I almost shed a tear, it was so dense and beautiful. Almost over-whelming how amazing it looks. The Snowdrop Engine, which I loved in Division 2, really provides a stunning and graphically rich world. Just got a mount and things are really getting cool now!
After a few hundred hours in Fallout 4 (and a few hundred in 76) I had kinda burned out a bit and gave it a rest way back. But like everyone, I have Fallout fever again.
As I am loading up the PS5 version, listening to the amazing theme music, and transferring my save, I was like..where did I leave off...
Loads into a huge underground vault where I had spend many hours building. Girl comes running up to me and I am like "..Cait?....CAIT!!". My F4 bestie!
Emotional reunion ended then and there, she was like "so we gonna stand around here or are we heading out??"
@Anke I bought everything separate so I needed to download everything separate. I don't have the GOTY edition. Went to Fallout 4 Vanilla version, "purchased" it (for free). Then saw the DLC all listed for free (PS4/PS5 version) and when I downloaded each it switched from "free" to "purchased".
Sorry...who are the "friends" you play with? Characters in-game? Other players? Is this co-op online only? Couch co-op? Is it single player? Is there a campaign?
I feel, as the article states, Fallout 4 (with all DLCs) is the best one to start with, just coming into it fresh and having never played a Fallout game. It's also the most "like the show" one you can get. Previous ones are dated and janky (though charming) and 76 is survival-lite and it's an online system. It just hits a bit different.
@ShogunRok Is it possible to play and enjoy if you have not played Remake? Is there an overview or catch-up at the beginning, the story so far? I keep meaning to start Remake but other games keep getting in the way. The Rebirth buzz is making me want to jump to it first, but wondering if I should start with the first entry.
This headline alone caused my pulse to quicken! Love all the games, but for me Burnout Revenge was the pinnacle. Probably my fav game of all time. So expertly crafted and just beyond fun. Had a Burnout playlist (moving Mp3s to the Xbox 360 lol) that I always played during Revenge. I would be happy to see any or all of the Burnout games in current gen. Actually anything Burnout related! Let's get DJ Atomika back on Crash FM as well while we're at it!
Cyberpunk total is now 158 hours and Horizon is 133, great DLC for each brought me back and doubled my playtime. I need to get back to Hogwarts and continue, such an amazing game.

Re: Fallout 4 Next Gen Version Is Out Now on PS5, Xbox, and PC
@michaelf I feel this is the way to go if you have F4 but got the season pass later. Just tried it..
1. "Purchase" Fallout 4 PS5 base game (free)
2. Don't download
3. Switch to GOTY edition (now activated)
4. Download
5. It downloads PS5 F4 and PS5 DLC
Worked for me...
Re: Fallout 4 Next Gen Version Is Out Now on PS5, Xbox, and PC
@atthegates The DLCs should be listed as "PS4/PS5" so I assume it downloads the correct version?

616 hours
Diablo 4 - 123 hours
Hogwarts Legacy - 118 hours
Cyberpunk 2077 - 72 hours
Horizon Forbidden West - 65 hours
Death Stranding - 61 hours
Cyberpunk total is now 158 hours and Horizon is 133, great DLC for each brought me back and doubled my playtime. I need to get back to Hogwarts and continue, such an amazing game.
So many great memories in those 5 games
