Cool just turned my pro on excitedly to update but didn’t realise it likely won’t arrive until the morning in the uk. Nevermind just one more day to wait!
Rebirth will be my first port of call seeing as I wanted to go back and mop up some side stuff I missed the first time around.
I mean you’d think any company would want to treat all its customers equally, especially when the customers you ignore have paid for your most expensive product. If anything shouldn’t it be the pro that gets plates not the OG? lol
This really irritates me as a consumer. I mean they’ve gone to the trouble of producing these in the first place, how hard can it be to add one extra mould to the production?
@UltimateOtaku91 I mean they had Japan studio and closed them down. It felt like they didn’t give a crap about Japan for a good period of time which of course isn’t true but how it looked by their actions.
@BAMozzy yes I understand that, please don’t be patronising. It’s you that’s missed my point…
Microsoft setting up terms with steam in that to allow steam onto Xbox and therefore giving steam access to ‘x’ number of new gamers, all purchases would come with a commission if made via Xbox. It may be that MS’s allowance of steam comes with them wanting a cut which would be understandable. Steam get access to more players and therefore more sales so is a win/win.
Not saying this is the case but it’s a way MS could make money from a setup like this that the article didn’t highlight.
Not necessarily true if MS strike a deal with steam to allow the platform to be put in front of Xbox gamers. MS could take a 10% cut for example anything bought via Xbox.
@Fiendish-Beaver honestly it’s the best money you could spend on the switch in my opinion and made me actually want to game on the system. Couldn’t imagine playing the Zelda’s or Metroid without it.
The S2 version has a few nice upgrades too like programmable back buttons and super silent/smooth sticks. It’s actually become my favourite controller and the battery lasts probably double the dualsense.
“We want to ensure that when you spend in Marathon you feel like you are getting great value”
Hold up am I missing something, was $10 for a skin ever good value? Especially when before this update you’d have to buy double to have enough credit to actually afford it.
I feel like it was Shu who championed many of the smaller, left field Sony releases in the past. He was a very highly respected figure and without him I’m not sure Sony has an equal replacement. It could be part of the reason we’re seeing less risks being taken.
I’m really glad Sony have made a smaller budget game and think it’s something they should do more of to pad out the release schedule and give old forgotten franchises a new lease of life.
This particular game though doesn’t interest me sadly. Don’t like the art style and the metacritic has done nothing to sway me over when there’s so many other games I’d rather play before it.
@Fiendish-Beaver just out of interest I take it you’ve tried the pro controller on switch/2? I’m the same with the joycon can’t stand them but the pro’s are superb, especially the switch 2 version.
@Boomers-r-us ah is my fault really. I stopped subbing to ps+ but didn’t know the only way to transfer save files on ps5 was through the cloud. Thought you could do it via usb stick like I did on my ps4 but no…
Sucks Sony put save file transfers behind a paywall.
Dynamic pricing works with supply and demand. Due to the nature of digital game sales the supply is effectively infinite meaning it can only work on the demand side.
That likely means higher prices will occur for popular games (to maximise profit) and lower prices for games not selling well (to stimulate sales).
This is a crappy move in my opinion and something to be concerned about an all digital future.
@dskatter I think you’re right but just different timing. I believe nadella wants to merge Xbox into pc/windows spanning over one last console generation.
I totally get why sequels are made as they sell well but thanks to the high risk these days it’s sad to think these studios are becoming just same franchise studios.
To me this makes the closure of bluepoint even worse when they could’ve been remaking some more left field, lower seller remakes that fans are clamouring for to mix things up like sly cooper, Jak, wipeout, infamous or whatever.
@BusyOlf yeah games do that annoy me. Cyberpunk was a poor culprit also. Surely it can’t take much for them to “optimise” the menu controls for console?
I was kind and voted it’s dying but really it does already seem as alive as bluepoint at this stage.
If Sony took resources away from their single player bread and butter development for live service, then psvr resources would’ve gone long before that.
Is a shame and another lovely bit of hardware that they spent a fortune developing left to rot like my beloved vita.

Re: PS5 Game Devs Collectively Clown on Nvidia's Controversial DLSS 5 Tech
@GASEOUS I didn’t say that was its sole purpose, I just find its timing interesting. Didn’t you or was it just a coincidence?
You do know these things do happen in business though right?
Re: PS5 Game Devs Collectively Clown on Nvidia's Controversial DLSS 5 Tech
Love that cult of the lamb post haha
It seems nvidia’s attempt to take away from the pssr2 launch has massively backfired.

Re: PS5's Coolest Collection of Controllers and Console Covers Are Out Now
Thanks to the lack of pro option again Sony.

Re: Opinion: Crimson Desert Could Be PS5 Game of the Year, or a Total Mess
This looks and sounds like it’s been in development since 1989

@UltimateOtaku91 I mean they had Japan studio and closed them down. It felt like they didn’t give a crap about Japan for a good period of time which of course isn’t true but how it looked by their actions.
Re: Sony Decides VTubers May Be the Best Way to Save PS5 in Japan
I wonder to what extent them moving their HQ from Japan to California has made a difference?
Re: Crimson Desert PS5 Concern as Physical Copies Won't Run without Download
@Marquez is actually cheaper at Argos and smiths toys at 49.99 anyway!
Re: 'No One Is Buying This on PS5': PC Port Begging Already Unbearable as Sony Switches Strategy
Most of those pc players probably pirate their games anyway and likely wouldn’t pay for it even if it released on pc.
Also probably part of the reason pc sales are so poor in the first place…
Re: As PS6 Delay Rumours Swirl, Fans Debate Ray Tracing's Worth
It’s nice to have but so system intensive I do wonder if it’s worth the trade off.

They must be taking the piss. “To pay the bills” haha like the bills aren’t being paid already 🤣

Re: PS5 Pro Sales Explode on the Back of PSSR 2 Hype, System Sells Out in Some Stores
With the price of components increasing so much the pro’s at its best value since it launched and pssr2 definitely looks like it’ll build on that.
Got mine day 1 and it’s a superb bit of kit. Really looking forward to seeing the next wave of releases with the pssr update.

@Fiendish-Beaver no worries let me know how you get on!

@dark_knightmare2 nope.
Re: The UK Has Gone Mad for Resident Evil After the Huge Success of Requiem on PS5
I’m guilty of the hype and ended up buying the resi 4 remake seeing as I’ve not played it since it came out on the GameCube!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 623
@Boomers-r-us yes but in my case I’d foolishly backed up my old ps5 to usb and wiped it as I had a buyer.
It wasn’t until I set up my pro it became apparent you can no longer transfer via memory card 🤦♂️

After losing all my save files when I got my pro (🤬) I’ve wanted to replay Astrobot which I’m doing this weekend.
It’s as good as I remember and looks absolutely stunning on the pro!
Re: Yakuza Maker's Promising New PS5 Game May Soon Be Sleeping with the Fishes as Funding Is Cut
@Haruki_NLI exactly you’d think these large corporations would be less clueless or at least do their due diligence in gaming budgets! 🤦♂️

Feel like Capcom have a higher output than all of Sony’s first parties combined!
Re: PS6 Competitor from Xbox Revealed as Project Helix
I have zero interest in anything Xbox. I don’t like what the brand and Microsoft have become and I was an OG and 360 gamer.
They seem to be pissing in the wind generation after generation. Good luck to them but they lost me years ago.

@dskatter I think you’re right but just different timing. I believe nadella wants to merge Xbox into pc/windows spanning over one last console generation.
Or something.
Re: Kena PS5 Studio Goes Full Circle with Bridge of Spirits Switch 2 Port
I got round to playing kena after seeing the sequel announcement and it was really enjoyable.
Hope they tweak the combat in the second game and add a fast swim button, it was so slooooow…
Re: After Cancelling Most PC Ports, Sony Promotes New 'PC Ready' Controller
@Voltan ah yeah thanks for clearing that up, my old cranky brain couldn’t remember what games they were!

@get2sammyb nice write up dude.
Re: There's Some inFAMOUS: Second Son in Control Resonant, Says Remedy
Second son was such a fun game, the controls were sublime
Re: Sony Returns to PlayStation Exclusivity and Stops Single Player PC Ports, New Report Says
Sony are in the driving seat and I feel this is a good strategy to take if it wants to pull ahead further.
Also don’t most/many of gamers pirate their games? Possibly helps explain the low sales of first party on pc.

@Topov81 yeah I enjoyed wreckfest, is the sequel an actual thing?
Re: Crimson Desert Tech Analysis Raises More Questions About PS5 Performance
With no console footage and only high end pc shown off so far doesn’t give me massive confidence if only because it looks so ambitious.
I just hope they’re really talented devs and have worked some magic!

I totally get why sequels are made as they sell well but thanks to the high risk these days it’s sad to think these studios are becoming just same franchise studios.

Re: Stellar Blade Dev May Cut Sony's Support and Self-Publish the Sequel
They needed Sony for the first game but after its success they don’t any longer!
Re: Shocking: PlayStation Studios Are Hiring for New Games
@Kumatz I’m not massive on remakes but infamous I’d definitely be down for.
Damn you sony bluepoint could’ve done that!

Re: Turns Out You Can Access God of War: Sons of Sparta's Locked-Off Co-Op Mode Early
@PuppetMaster they should’ve got bluepoint to remaster this 😅

No but it’’s purpose (if intentional) was about changing the narrative not trying to fix disappointment.
