In a Busy Month for New PS5 Games, Don't Sleep on Mouse P.I. For Hire 1

It’s a particularly packed month for new PS5 releases in April, with Pragmata and Saros just two of the titles vying for your attention.

But don’t sleep on Mouse P.I. For Hire!

This rubber hose FPS is coming on 16th April, and looks like a delightful mix of DOOM and Cuphead. It really seems to have expanded in scope since its initial trailer was revealed as well.

Here’s what the press release says:

“Mouse P.I. For Hire is an action-packed first-person shooter that draws inspiration from the classic cartoons of the 1930s. Its black and white rubber hose visuals are drawn by hand, frame by frame, delivering a striking vintage aesthetic. Unravel layers of corruption with a thrilling noir-fuelled detective story, lively environments to explore, an original big band jazz soundtrack, and a fully-loaded arsenal of cartoon weapons and devastating power-ups.”

The blurb alludes to “myriad cases to solve and collectibles to find” as you explore everything from “dark streets to classic film studios, opulent opera buildings, poisonous swamps, and underground sewers”.

There’s also mention of Metroid-style progression systems, so you can probably expect to return to some of the abovementioned locations when you’ve levelled up to unlock more secrets.

With Troy Baker doing the voice work and over 20 levels in total, this looks like it should definitely be on your April shopping list.
