I do like it has freed up the only TV in my household to game while my spouse watches their favorite show. Would a dedicated Playstation handheld that I can install my library of games on be better, absolutely. Since it doesn't means it has less operating parts which makes it so light to hold. I think it's the most comfortable handheld on the market for it's size. I have not had any performance issues using it within my home. Since owning it Day 1 they have kept adding features to it which is very un-Sony-like. Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

I hope they keep bringing JRPGs from this era back to life. Seems like a perfect play on the Portal

E33 for me because it was a familiar yet refreshing experience. Havent started Yotei or DS2 yet, but from what I heard and know from playing the first ones, they sound like incredible games.

Now I have recently completed DK Bananza and I do not get the hype. I just don't come off that game and go, this is a GOTY candidate. Is it the best Nintendo had this year? Maybe? Does Nintendo have to have a GOTY candidate or else people will riot? Most likely.

@DennisReynolds Why sell millions of copies one time when you can do it three times. Also, I'm sure the overhead of the remakes is less than making Halo 7. Pushing these out and turning a quick profit is a no brainer.

@rjejr well considering PS VR2 sold 1-2 million units in more time. That's half the install base at best of the Portal, and there's still some demand and buzz around the Portal.

@Qu1n0n3z completely agree. The fact the industry, for some games, has been including in deluxe edition preorders that you can play a game a week early is absurd knowing the game will be 25-30% off in 2-3 months. There's so much to play out there, I don't understand the urgency to play games at release.

@1970sGamer I understand why people game with headphones, I could never do it. If I'm home, my surround system is turned up. My partner could sleep through a fireworks show.

Not upset about the lack of PvP honestly. Might be the old man in me, but I'd be totally okay with Halo CE through Reach getting this treatment. Pump it into my veins!!!

You know what was great about Remake? It was somewhat made in a vacuum. No outside feedback. They had a vision and made a game. Now they're worried about public opinion. How about do what they think is best and execute it? Never gonna please everybody.

Not surprised the Pushsquare poll will be skewed the other way. I don't imagine many casual gamers are checking gaming news websites on the regular basis.

Personally I probably average out to one a month, but I probably snag a handful on sales then don't buy anything for a month or so unless there's a must play new release.

I take it back. This is the only acceptable way I would want a Chrono Trigger game to look if "remade". The Toriyama style just looks so good.

I was able to redeem the codes multiple times, once per platform, since I'm unsure if I will get the game down the road on Steam or PSN

I grew up in a Nintendo household until we got a PS One, the slim version of the console. It had to have been around the time it came out. 2000ish. Still have it to this day. No reason to use it with having a PS2 with component cables hooked up to my Sony Trinitron, but it's in a storage bin in the basement.

First game I think was Final Fantasy 8, but I'll never forget the night I started FFIX. Magical.

Maybe not as much as a Nintendo competitor as a Steamdeck competitor as well. Outside of the US/Euro, handheld gaming is massive in the Asian market. Sony is dumb not to grab a piece of that. You have this PSN ecosystem that they have been steadily building since PS4, which they are still making a lot of money on, and now you add a handheld to it that moves you into Generation 3 of it. No brainer.

As a Playstation centric gamer, I've been playing Helldivers 2 on PC this whole time, so who cares?

There has been a FF game released almost every year for quite some time now. With FFT coming this year, if FF9R is still alive and well, a gamescom or tgs announcement would fit a 2026 release window.

@Lami easily the best way to play MGS imo. Crazy to think how this version of the game is still dormant on Gamecube

Witcher 3 was one of those few games that I constantly thought about. Not many games have that impact on me. It never felt like a chore to play. I loved every minute of it.

Played a bit of Avowed when I got PC Game pass for a month when Oblivion came out. Liked it a lot more than Oblivion gameplay-wise, but the game crashed often. Too often. If it's stable in PS5 I'll pick it up for sure.

The lack of a fishing mini-game might have done it

If this game was in my backlog longer, I'd be excited. I completed this game before the last DLC and don't plan on going back to this gem of a game. At least not anytime soon. Good to know it's there.

I would rather they focus on their next project then keep adding to this.

I very much enjoyed my time with Days Gone. Sadly never finished it because I hit the horde cave glitch close to the end of the game. Best game ever? No. A game that deserves a bit more respect? I think so.

That all being said. I have no interest of going back to it for the remaster. If you never played it before, I would recommend you'd check it out.

Still finishing up a couple other games, but I bought this right away instead of waiting for it to go on sale. Got to support games like this.

Love it when unannounced games are cancelled it's like it never happened.

Been back into D2 recently the past couple weeks for the first time in over a year. For a few hours a week with friends, I think there's enough to do. Scratches that itch in-between other games I'm working my way through. Wasn't expecting another expansion. "Final" Shape sounded like a good send off even though the door was always cracked open. Was hopeful D3 was closer, if Bungie is even working on it.

I've never played an extraction shooter, but Bungie gameplay is S-Tier, so I'm willing to give it a try.

It's the only reason me and some friends always go back to Destiny every once in a while. It feels so good to play. I'm definitely curious about Marathon. Me and a handful of my Destiny clanmates will likely check it out.

As for there might not being enough content, I would probably be playing this once every week or two when I can get friends together to play so not to worried there. Just a good way to hang out and play something cooperatively even though it's only PVP.

So Rocket League, but the cars are people? Sounds silly.

Say what you want about Destiny, but it is the best feeling shooter on the market. Bungie knows gameplay, and I'm sure Marathon would be no different. Can't wait to see what they have in store.

Give me a Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remastered version of Chrono Trigger. Options to use an orchestrated score. Original pixel graphics. Throw in the cutscenes from the PSX and DS version. Trophies. What else would you need?

A Letterboxed for video games would be a great idea

The numbers really don't matter because the Steam Deck is not a dedicated gaming device that has it's own games. It's a complimentary device to a massive gaming ecosystem. I'm also curious if they are made to order or if Steam holds a limited supply.

Colin's interview with Shu was definitely more informative than the KF interview. There's a lot of interesting details they get into and recommend to anyone once/if it's released on free feeds.

@Clogalis I purchase games for family and friends on steam every once in a while. When someone buys me something it's a nice little surprise. It would be a nice PSN feature

The games they are publishing to Playstation are games that have been out for quite some time now. It's not like they are making all net new games.

@DETfaninATL I think you could argue that if it was a F2P title, and Sony gave it time, it could have been fine. Going back and reading about the game, most reviews say that the gameplay isn't bad. I wish I could play it just to see how "bad" it was.

I don't think the takeaway here is "make more family games" but maybe "make great games". If games are great, people will play them.

Yes, a game that is for everyone of all ages is great too, but the games still need to be great. Just keep the quality high.
