Re: PSVR's Inevitable PS5 Successor Could Be a Dramatic Improvement

bman2112

For me I know The Quest VR device is going to tidy me over for the next 18 months or so. I have a PSVR, I love it. It quite simply don’t have the time to set it up, so it’s gathering dust. The Quest scratches that itch very, very well

When in 18months/2yrs the PSVR 2 arrives, I’ll be all over it.

Dick Wilde has a certain charm too. Bloody difficult though!

Korix is a great little indie game too. Sparc is great fun.... and if you're a Star Wars fan many people believe the 10 min X-wing experience is worth the price of the headset alone!

Re: Review: Sparc (PS4)

I'd say it's a 'must have' game. Yes it's online only but the player base is good and should grow.

I would think the devs know that they have to bring a single player element to this game and I'm sure that will happen in order to attract new players and maintain the current player base.

You sure can work up a sweat playing this. I would say 8.5/10.

A '7' is too low.

@Bad-MuthaAdebisi

Agree with you. A lot of games but little 'noise' from the mainstream press. Even Metacritic doesn't have a VR section yet....

I bought mine about 4 months ago. Best gaming purchase I've made since the PS1. (Ps2 /3/4 were natural continuity purchases).

If anyone is on the fence, has the £££ and loves gaming it really is a no brainer. And Sony are not dumping it. And even if they announced today that they were, I think I have enough games and experiences to consider my outlay for the device a worthwhile investment.

Didn't see it in the review, but is VR being added to this? Dirt was/is awesome in VR, but would be great to have an update

Re: PlayStation VR Restocked Ahead of Farpoint Release

bman2112

@solocapers Exactly this mate. I want it to be amazing, like every PSVR game, but this will probably wear thin after one session. (Albeit a fun session). The only thing that could save it is that it adds online multiplayer. 10 v 10 etc. But as far as I know it's only co op at this stage.

Re: Review: DriveClub VR (PS4)

@get2sammyb Is there also a possibility that the novelty has worn off for you Sammy?

I mean, if I tried this game tomorrow having never used VR I could be gobsmacked! Maybe you're already bored of it? (Ok, bored isn't the right expression, but you know what I mean)

@dryrain
This!! I'm worried too. I really want VR to catch fire, and normally I'm a day 1 purchaser. Right now, my decision to wait till Xmas is looking like a good bet. It sounds to me like it's still searching for it's 'system selling' game.

My fingers are crossed that by Dec we have that. I have no doubt, even though I've never tried VR, that this is the future. It just needs to catch fire NOW....not in 6 months. It will be too late

Re: Hands On: PlayStation VR Continues to Impress in Epic Preview Session

@professorhat
Very much agree with this. For not just entertainment too.

For me, first and foremost it will be for gaming, however I love the idea of being at a concert. For example a Muse or Metallica gig where you have a choice of front row, 10th row and 'at the back', and you can watch the gig as you would being there. I can't wait for that.

Also, tennis or golf.....looking forward to that too. Not sure if possible, especially golf.....

Re: It's Weird to See Fallout 4 on a Vita Screen

bman2112

@Boerewors I replied in the main thread. But you're so so right. It's a system seller for me. And it's never talked about!! Even by Push Square. I'm 41, so quite an 'old' gamer. I don't have the time to sit in front of my TV playing games.....vita is perfect for that. Undersold, under rated, under used. Poor poor marketing SONY!!!

Re: It's Weird to See Fallout 4 on a Vita Screen

bman2112

I read the first post and thought screw this. REMOTE PLAY is such a non-discussed part of the vita. Ok, it's discussed, but for me it's a system seller. I very rarely play vita games. In fact, I couldn't give a toss about vita games. I LOVE the fact I can play PES, The Golf Club, and various other games ps4 games when I can grab a quick game when the wife is doing her thing and my 10wk old baby isn't having a meltdown.

I've never understood why it's not a system seller. BAD BAD marketing.

Re: Poll: FIFA 16 Versus PES 2016 - Which Footy Sim Has Rocketed Into Your Top Corner?

bman2112

It's simple. Off the field = FIFA. On the field = PES.

Now....what would we give for a bastar* child of these two? FIFA presentation and PES gameplay.

Won't happen, and I guess only FIFA can give us that due to licensing issues. PES will never get to that stage unfortunately (although it's a lot better this year ...even the commentary is bearable)...but most people are suckers for real stadiums/leagues etc etc.....I know I am.

Still, PES is by far the better game this year (it was last year too)

Re: Rory McIlroy Tames Tiger Woods in PGA Tour PS4

bman2112

This is going to have to be seriously impressive if it wants to migrate fans from The Golf Club, which since release has gone from strength to strength and built a great community. I'm also looking forward to Move play too, so I hope it's included.

Re: DriveClub Blossoms in New Nakasendo Track

bman2112

So, when exactly is the free PS+ version coming? If the game is now running well, why is it not out yet?

I was on the store this morning and was VERY tempted to pay £19.99 for the 'upgrade'.........it sounds like it's worth it now. But if the + version is 1-2 was away maybe I should wait?

For those that have the full game is it 100% right now?

Re: PS4 Releases Reduced in New European PlayStation Store Sale

bman2112

Good lord. The Golf Club at just over £11 for Plus users. Amazing price for arguably the best golf game ever made. I urge anyone with a passion or even a passing interest in golf to get this. It's a gem of a game by designers and a company that listen and care for the consumer.

Re: Feature: How Has the PS4 Fared in Its First Year?

bman2112

B for me. I play it quite a bit and enjoy it. Being 40yrs old I now have different responsibilities so my gaming time is mostly restricted to remote play, which works quite well with most games.

The one thing that's personally missing for me is that "wow" factor when it comes to next-gen graphics. I don't think I've played any game that's made me think 'holy shi@, that looks amazing'......which I seemed to do when the ps3 was launched.

Can anyone genuinely recommend a game that has this wow factor? I've played most games (Resogun, FIFA, bf4, tomb raider,...) but nothing has made be sit up and take notice and I just think the graphical jump from ps3 to ps4 is a lot less than ps2 to ps3.

I know gameplay is what is about but I'm missing those OMG moments....
