We've put up and shut up for long enough, but now the PlayStation Store's really taking the pee. So, anyone that's popped into the latest downloadable content section of the PlayStation 4's online plaza will know that it's been overrun with Rocksmith 2014 Edition songs and Dead or Alive 5 costumes in the past β but the release of Rock Band 4 has pushed things over the edge.
On the European storefront at the time of typing there are quite literally hundreds upon hundreds of songs listed out. This, from what we understand, is only going to get messier as more tracks get added to the mix. Now, don't get us wrong, we're pleased to see so much content being made available β but couldn't it be stashed away in its own Rock Band 4 folder or something?
Look, we know that we're going to get crucified by some commenters for whining or whatever, but we love the PS4 and we want it to be the best that it can be. As such, there are some things that Sony needs to change, and while we're fully aware that the organisation of the PlayStation Store is probably not at the very top of its list β well, this still needs fixing all the bloody same.

Atrocious. Who looked at this and said "yeah, good enough"?
I still hate how everything gets organized in the store. When a game gets MULTIPLE new add-ons, it should be a 'folder' view.
The PS4 store annoys me so much that I'll rarely use it. Everything just feels like advertisements or spam. Instead, I buy almost everything from the web store (which is still terrible). The Vita webstore is easily my favorite.
I just don't get why it can't be simple. Why does everything need to be 210 clicks away? Jeez, it's not even noon and I'm ranting....
Totally justified complaint! Heck, this is a terrible way of organising it for the people who legitimately ARE looking for the Rock Band content, let alone the rest of us.
Organising by song title is a terrible idea, surely it should get it's own little section of the store, which the game makers should have to take responsibility for, where the songs can sit away from the rest of the DLC, and where users who want to browse them can be given the option to sort by Artist, Album etc as well as song name.
I'm just going to use the Rockband Store from inside the game from now on, since there's actually sorting options in-app. I sifted through the whole thing last night looking for potential tracks to purchase on payday and it took me almost an hour and a half.
I agree, it's totally insane. When I was on my computer yesterday looking at new this month, it was ridiculous. The costumes in the past have been bearable, but this needs to be fixed ASAP. It's like they don't want you to find stuff to spend your money on.
@get2sammyb Also, another weirdness on the store. I was looking at new this month, and saw a new genre: adult. Wondering what could possible have made its way into the PS store, I click on it and the Uncharted Collection demo comes up. A game that's not even rated M...
From a business perspective, this can only hurt sales I would have thought, which should put it high on their agenda. Making stuff hard to buy is hardly putting the consumer first.
How to solve problem incorporate dlc tracks into own store linked to psn credit accessible via the actual game while also keeping a section dedicated to it on the normal store.
I've never noticed this until reading this article. I always used the related items part when selecting a game to find its dlc as it just seemed quicker. Having had a look it is quite ridiculous that none of these things are even grouped by what game the dlc is for as a bare minimum. Also what is it about me playing Destiny and MGSV that makes Rugby league live a sensible suggestion for me to buy?
@JesWood13 I tried sifting through the RB4 store, but I couldn't get more than a page or two in before it disconnected and threw me back to the main menu. After about an hour or so, I managed to download a few of my previously purchased titles, but the RB4 store is so terribly slow right now with everyone browsing it, that its frustrating.
The PS4 store, on the other hand, doesn't list most of the songs that the RB4 store does, and I am not sure the reason.
Hehe. Loved the fact you stopped on a Rush tune. Geek out!
Okay, I know I commented already, but I looked at the number of stuff on the new section on my PS4, and it was over 2000. So there are more than 1900 Rockband songs clogging up the store. Let that sink in.
@Shellcore Mad π I remember trying to buy ultra street fighter 4 and you had to write exactly that. Street fighter nope, fighter 4 nope, I thought it wasn't released until I viewed the articles on here for a second time and looked at the comments. The system is stooopid.
@Jaz007 That in itself is an issue. Quantity over Quality.
While I don't have a PS4, with my PS3 and Vita I can say pretty confidently that the only good way to browse the PS Store is on a pc. Still, I don't think looking at a DLC section for every game available doesn't seem like a good idea in the first place.
