If it weren't for The Day Before, this would've been the fastest a live-service game has died.
However I am curious about the "explore options" part. Are they considering pulling a Multiversus move and re-release it when it's more fully complete with some drastic changes here and there? Or do they mean just finding what other games they can make that won't suffer the same fate as Concord?
Either way, I do really feel bad for the devs, hope they can bounce back from this, and hopefully this convices the higher-ups at Sony that making live-service games nowadays is way too risky, especially coming from a company that is already more dedicated on making single-player games anyways.
As a Monster Hunter fan myself, this statement is utter bull. MH is a mission based action hunting series with lite rpg elements, while Dino Crisis is literally Resident Evil but with dinosaurs instead of zombies. Just how is MH any similar to DC?
@NarutosBiggestFan Anyone that says that they have no issue with Elon even after all the nasty stuff he's been outted for might say a lot about them as a person, just sayin'.
Maybe most people here won't care much about this since admittedly, Concrete Genie was pretty average (although I did platinum it). Still, I did appreciate its presentation and premise, if a bit flawed. For me, it at least had charm, and it was a decent breath of fresh air after playing so many exclusive that feels like they are all so focused on proving how graphically advanced they are.
What this tells me is that any studio that hasn't made a game that's on the same level as God of War, Horizon of Ghost of Tsushima yet are now threatened of being shut down, and I won't be happy if Media Molecule could be next, especially since Dreams is no longer getting any support (still no PC port btw which really hurts it). Fingers crossed that their next project will be a decent success, hopefully one that still has that Media Molecule charm while also getting ACTUAL marketing from Sony.
I respect your optimism about this lineup, but for me, it's pretty disappointing.
Hood was a game I was kind of interested, until I forgot that it was even released last year with minimal advertising and from what I've searched about the game, it looks like I didn't miss much (and on steam it's pretty much dead).
BfBB Rehydrated was an ok remaster that honestly feels like it didn't really add that much beside a couple of new idle animations and the horrifically bland multiplayer mode.
Slay the Spire is the only good one of the three but it's understandable if not many are interested since, at least from my experience, card games are more popular on PC and mobile than on consoles.
This is probably the first time i've seen Sony collaborating with a chinese game.
As much as how weird I find this crossover, it's still kinda neat and could help introduce a lot of chinese gamers to the Horizon series, especially with the sequel already on its way (which I guess was Sony's intention in the first place).
Let me remind you guys that Knack, which currently has a 54 on Metacritic, got a sequel approved by Sony, while Days Gone, which has a 71 on Metacritic, way higher than Knack's, got its sequel project rejected.
I'm honestly divided on this. On one hand, the game does look very fun and it certainly has a lot of charm and personality (which is more than I can say with the recent gritty playstation exclusives we've been getting), but locking behind single-player content behind a paywall is in my opinion a bit questionable. Granted it's not necessary to have it, but it's stuff like this that would've been fine if the game was free-to-play first and buy-to-play only for those that want access to all single-player stuff, and only the f2p players have to unlock them with premium currency. But that's just me.
If the game turns out to be a decent success at launch, then i'll be happy for the devs and will be interested on how they'll support the game onwards. If not however, then I won't be too surprised if the game will the suffer the fame fate as Battleborn or Marvel vs Capcom Infinite
You forgot to mention that Game Informer did admit that some of the changes weren't for the best, such as the Fat Official's new design, but they enjoyed the game nonetheless, and hey, if you prefer the old one, you can still go back and play it.
Out of all the game that needed a sequel, I did not expect My name is mayo being one. Good for those who want an eady plat but for me, I kinda don't care for trophies. I only care if the game is fun.
Why does it feel like they're going to forget about the whole "monsters can't get kill with weapons from another world" idea at some part of the movie? Because why make the soldiers keep using guns if they know they're ineffective?
Wasn't too surprised that it was an error. Didn't they already offered the game for free on PS Plus before?
@carlosjt_ I wonder what games Saucymonk likes, because maybe he doesn't like Bloodborne because he has different taste. Still, that doesn't mean you can just call a game terrible with no constructive criticism.
@Th3solution While that's kinda true, it doesn't explain why Spiderman is still available in the xbox and pc versions of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (which is a switch only game btw).
Still, I do have to give it credit for introducing the isekai genre for many casual anime fans, and it's thanks to its popularity that it gave other manga artists a chance to try out for themselves, giving us Log Horizon, Re:Zero, Overlord, etc. This is all my personal opinion though.
@roe Note to self: Good/stylish graphics doesn't equal good game. I thought by this point people would have already learned that but I guess not, and considering that there were other games before Vane that suffered the same issues as Vane, it's pretty clear that everyone will continue to do the same mistakes.
I'm still thinking of getting the game but definitely at a sale (and when it recieved enough patches). At least when it's priced at a price lower than $20.
@LuisCruz13 Why did you have to remind me of that game?
I recommend checking out Hidden Dragon Legend. Is not a great game by any means but at least worth trying it once. Plus, at far as chinese games goes, this one is far better than The Walker and Gene Rain.
And if you have a PSVR, I highly recommend Light Tracer. It's probably Oasis Games' only good title.
@tameshiyaku actually the design itself is inspired by an image of SCP-682, where the head looks like an alligator's skull. I mean there were even loading screens that said something about SCP in chinese, so they are obviously not ripping off King Kong island.
Looks promising (especially when compared to most other titles from Oasis) but the combat looks pretty sluggish, the envioments are kinda empty, and Wukong runs to slow (there IS a running button, right?). Hope they listen to player feedback, at least from us western gamers. Can't help but feel like chinese gamers seems to find every game they see, even the worst ones, a "GOTY" contender.
I'll be keeping an eye out but so far, I'm less impressed with the current quality of the chinese games on the system. Funny how everyone are acting very excited for upcoming chinese games (sometimes solely because it's chinese) and yet barely hear anyone talking about how good Icey, Candleman or Light Tracer. In fact, why does everyone seem to be ignoring the bad chinese games like Weeping Doll or Ace Banana or Dying Reborn or Ranch Planet? I mean, a bit of acknowledgement would be nice.
Although adding William from Nioh, 2B from Nier:Automata, or even Artorias from Dark Souls are definitly great candidates for guest characters, Geralt from Witcher 3 is probably more believable because of his playstyle, the fact that the game published my Namco in Europe, and that adding him could help boost the sales in the West since Witcher 3 is a much more beloved game in the western audience. Probably why MHW sold the most copies on the PS4 version was thanks to the HZD event (and the MH playstation fans of course)
What's really sad (for me at least) is that the other upcoming anime-based games are really interesting. Like you have a competitive multiplayer RPG Naruto game, a third-person shooter RPG SAO game that actually lets you be your own character, a Vanillaware-style LWA game, and even a magic-based third-person shooter 4v4 BC game. However, when you hire developers who gave us such mediocrity like Godzilla and Asterisk War to make these games, then you know that the game won't be favorable to many people except for anime fans.
The reason why DBFZ did so well is because: 1. It's Dragonball (duh) and 2. It was developed by ASW, one of the kings of 2D fighting games. I can appreciate Namco's effort on making more varied anime-based games, but if they don't hire people that are good with that specific genre, or even give them enough time to complete the final product, then these games will forever be below average.
Played the original one, looking forward on getting this game. One thing that kinda bummed me out was that a majority of this game is reused from the first one. Like, besides a different story and Domination Battles, everything else remained the same.
However, I have heard that the translation here is pretty much better than the first one which quite honestly makes me glad, especially since they instead focus on one character instead of two (since the first game treated you like a guy even if you were female).
One question, how is the PvP here? I've never really bothered using it in Cyber Sleuth (heck i never even go PvP in the recent Pokemon games), and is there like some kind of tag team battles in multiplayer or something?.
Although open-world games is becoming the norm now (and sometimes mandatory), i'm actually pretty interested in this game since this could probably be (from what i know) the first anime-based open-world game. Glad to see Bandai Namco is experimenting more with their games.
But...why? The anime isn't even that great. I mean its not bad but it suffers greatly from all the Shonen tropes that we've seen over and over.
Besides, there are plenty people on youtube that criticizes the show's mediocricy (and don't get me started on Asta's voice)
The only credit I can give to Black Clover is that Asta, the protagonist, dual-wields black swords/magic greatswords or something, which at least its something different when compared to the rest of the hand-to-hand and katana-wielding shonen protagonists.
To me, I fear that this might become like what happened with Destiny 1's expansions. Where since the first DLC was poorly received and the second DLC was mediocre, they had to make two more expansions that weren't included in the season pass just to see if this could fix the game's problems.
Maybe it could be like Dark Souls 3's 2 DLCs where the first one was mediocre and the second one was much better.
As I said before, I just hope this one turns less mediocre than the other Namco's arena-fighters. I just don't want this to be a game that focuses too much on the fanservice and less on gameplay and presentation.
Although it's inevitable that it's gonna be another Namco arena fighter, as long as it's bigger and more fun than Hero Academia Battle for All, then it'll be fine by me. Oh and Fumikage and Mina, they better be in the game as playable characters.
Can't wait to play God Eater 3. Of course, I also hope that it only comes to the home consoles. Not trying to say that the Vita ports were bad, just that since they could be working on a newer engine for the game, then I don't want it to be held back like what happened with AWvsSAO.
I was considering on getting the game, but due to the generic artstyle, lackluster roster, bland voice acting, and actual original characters locked behind a paywall, i think i'm getting second thought.
Although I can understand x-men not being part of the roster cuz of deal between Disney and Fox or something like that, still they could have gone crazy with the capcom roster, I mean, no Gene? Asura? Leon? Nina? Sissel? Arisen? Seriously, atleast with Injustice 2 they added 18 new characters, this is just disappointing...
Admidettly, there's something...off about the fight. I guess my complaints are the following:
1)The boss theme, although it's good, just sounds unfitting for the boss in my opinion. Maybe because it would have sound better if it was used for when exploring a fantasy world or when fighting a boss in a turn-based RPG.
2)The AI of your ally is pretty...dumb. I have read that Louis (i think that's his name?) doesn't really fight much, which is dumb in games like these.
3)The animations when you get hit doesn't look too good, since it just stands still while moving the head a bit.
4)The combat, although isn't too bad compared the early trailer, it still doesn't have much impact compared to Dark Souls' combat or heck, even MHW's.
Even though I still have high hopes for it, I too hope for one thing that can actually impress me more.
"Stifled’s already won a slew of awards in Asia, so this seems like a good pick-up for the platform holder."
I don't want to sound a bit like a jerk, but just because it won a few awards, that doesn't mean it will end up being good. I remember Koi, another chinese indie game, winning a few indie awards, and in the end the game ended up being a disappointment (so much, that almost everybody have even forgot that the game even existed). I just hope that this turns out way better than Oasis Games' previous atmospheric puzzle games (Weeping Doll and Dying Reborn), and Perception.
Looks interesting, though I've been told that the game will have stealth mechanics, right? If so, then i'm really curious how they can implement it in a warriors game haha.
To be honest, I didn't even know this was announced, maybe because this one just isn't as recognizable as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us or even Borderlands, in my eyes anyways.
And I know a lot of people said this before, but Telltale REALLY needs to change their gameplay a bit. I mean, it doesn't hurt to try to make the gameplay a bit more action-oriented without ruining the story.
@Ralizah I agree with this. As much as I LOVE Toukiden and God Eater, I still see Monster Hunter as the best in the genre. Sure it's slow, and it's not a game for everyone, but it still has the most depth out of them all, and at least it doesn't focus on button-smashing your way in the game like in Toukiden. Plus I usually prefer the weapons and armors in MH compared to Toukiden's "Warriors" armor sets.
However, that doesn't mean that the other hunting RPGs are not memorable. Toukiden has its Mitama system, God Eater with its bullet customization, and Soul Sacrifice with the magic-based combat. Even the weaker ones like Ragnarok Odyssey and Freedom Wars has some unique elements.

Re: Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Brings Back Bedtime Boob Scenes
@playstation_king Personally, I found the entire series overall "meh" at best. While I do think the first season had actual stakes, the series went downhill after that when Kirito and friends no longer had to worry about dying in game, as well as other issues it suffers such as poor writing, lack of screentime for other characters, overuse of fanservice in what's supposed to be a "serious" anime, as well as other annoying anime clichés.
Still, I do have to give it credit for introducing the isekai genre for many casual anime fans, and it's thanks to its popularity that it gave other manga artists a chance to try out for themselves, giving us Log Horizon, Re:Zero, Overlord, etc. This is all my personal opinion though.

Re: Is Monster Hunter Finally Coming to the PS4?
