Re: The Next Horizon Game Is an MMO for Mobile and PC, Prompting Fury from PS5 Fans

Wardenknight133

Guess this is the rumored Monster Hunter-like they've mentioned? Because just seeing those mounts, slinging around and attacking with the long sword and dual blades really gives me hard Monster Hunter vibes. At the very least, I do think this kind of live service game makes more sense than whatever they had planned for the GoW one. At the same time, a lot of chinese mobile MMO games usually struggle and barely survive for more than a year (anyone remember Undawn?). And even then, still won't be trying this game out since my phone is absolutely not capable to run this and I still don't have a proper gaming PC. Oh well, wishing them the best of luck I suppose.

@Korgon You could ask the same thing on why they bothered to add a cutesy-fied Aloy to Genshin Impact, and the answer is pretty obvious. They want the franchise to appeal to games from Asia, especially from China, even though it should've been clear that most Horizon fans don't care much about anime games, let alone gacha ones, and most anime fans care even less about the series (talking about the Genshin x Horizon collab btw). This one attempts to appeal the asian audience from what franchise offers (i.e. robot animals) so let's see if it turns out effective in the end.

Re: ARCADIA Is an Attempt to Revive MindsEye with User-Made Custom Experiences

Wardenknight133

Having to rely on the community to make the content for you is the same thing that led to Starfield to be mostly forgotten nowadays. I remember Bethesda saying that Starfield was gonna be a "modder's paradise" because of the vast amount of empty planets for them to fill up. Only for a majority of them to just drop out because even they found the base game too boring for them to care.

Basically, just having the ability to create your own experiences for others to check out doesn't automatically guarantee in making the game successful or replayable. Fortnite lets you try out creative modes from players while also offering constant changes to their main modes like Battle Royale. Besides, if what Quintumply said is true, then this just means that the PS5 port of the game will be completely pointless. Like buying Skyrim for the switch rather than getting it for the PC.

Re: Forgotten PS5, PC Game Lost Soul Aside Still Being Patched and Optimised

Wardenknight133

@Dom_31 after doing a bit of research, people saying that the game was made by one guy aren't being completely accurate. Around when the first trailer was released (2016), it's true it was only Yang Bing himself working on the prject. 2017 and onwards however, the dev team began growing after he joined Sony's China Hero Project initiative. As of 2023, the team has around 40 members. So in the end, the game wasn't really made by one guy. And if it was then i'm sure people would've been less harsh on it, until you realize that the game was also backed by Sony, the same company that gave us Ghost of Tsushima, God of War and Horizon. So in the end, whether it was made by one person or not, the quality in which it was released in is just not acceptable in today's standards.

Still take it over Mindseye anyday. Would rather play a flawed game that's suppose to harken back the good ol' days of character action games than one that feels like a mediocre and forgettable PS3-era TPS game lmao

Re: Halo Confirmed for PS5, Remake of First Game Out in 2026

Wardenknight133

Some playstation fanboys will see this news and still think that Sony should try buying bigger studios for the sake of flaunting Microsoft over their aquisitions. Like this alone should be a clear indication that they are no longer a huge competitor in the console market anymore. As sad as it is, I blame it all on Microsoft.

Re: Bungie's Much Criticised Shooter Marathon Will Skip PS5's New State of Play

Wardenknight133

@SeaDaVie some people see some androgynous character designs and immediately call it "woke". Personally, the characters in Marathon intrigue me more visually than whatever they were going for in Concord, and definitly more interesting that Fairgame's boring urban aesthetic. Problem is, i'm just not into extraction-shooters, so unless Bungie adds something to the game that could attract people that aren't being on that aspect, especially those that are very interested in the game's world and lore, I won't be picking it up anytime soon, that is if it ever releases.

Re: MindsEye Flopped So Badly That Its Publisher Is Questioning If It Should Publish Games Ever Again

Wardenknight133

@Frmknst Only true if your whole library of games to play consists of shovelware garbage that you'd find on a digital store. If you actually stick to only getting games that really interests you or are of decent quality, and then play this, you'd realize quickly how much of a waste of purchase Mindseye truly is.

Also the "better than 99.99% of games" comment that i usually see when people are defending mediocre games is starting to get old. Barely even feels like a praise and more of a replacement for "better than nothing". And honestly, I ain't wasting $60~ on a game that's just "better than nothing".

Re: Sony Sues Tencent Over 'Shameless' Horizon Copycat Coming to PS5

Wardenknight133

@DennisReynolds Not trying to be rude here but didn't you say in another article about this same game last year, and I quote, "if Sony don't care why should we".

Granted I don't know exactly why it took them this long to respond, and while gameplay wise it may not be exactly like Horizon, I just find it hypocritical that we're praising Sony for rightfully suing them when back then it seemed like barely anyone had an issue with this game coming to PS5 all because Sony didn't take action quickly enough.

Re: Y'Know What? This New Goosebumps PS5 Game Could Be Good Fun

Wardenknight133

In 2023 alone, we got only one above average game from Gamemill, which was Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. In the same year they also gave us Avatar: The Quest for Balance, Skull Island: Rise of Kong, and The Walking Dead: Destinies, all of which were absolutely TERRIBLE.

Safe to say that I have little to no expectationa for this to be good, as much as i'd love to play as Goosebumps game for nostalgia sake.

Re: MindsEye (PS5) - GTA Producer's Latest Is a Futuristic Faceplant

Wardenknight133

@dskatter it is funny seeing how a few days ago users on here were all "people are judging the game too early, just wait for the reviews from people who have actually played the game releases", but now that it's getting bad scores, they changed their minds to "actually maybe review scores aren't necessary". It's just like how people would boast about their favorite movie getting a high RT score, but then turn around and say "critucs don't matter" when the movie they were hyped about gets a low RT score.

Re: PS5's Brilliant New State of Play Breaks Records for Sony

Wardenknight133

I hope anyone hating on that State of Play are redirecting their criticisms to Sony and not to the devs of the games showcased. It's not their fault that Sony had no other first-party exclusives to show off. If they weren't so dead set on chasing that live-servuce trend we would've definitly had at least one or two new first-party games announced.

For me, I thought it was overall fine. Was it amazing? Probably not, but I do appreciate them giving more focus to japanese devs for once. Plus, unlike Summer Game Fest, at least it got straight to the point, and with no BS gacha game ads.

Re: Rumour: Greek God of War Game Is a 2.5D Metroidvania

Wardenknight133

@edwinjoe450 same, i'm actually perfectly fine with the idea of a metroidvania-style GoW game, especially after playing Bloodstained and Prince of Persia TLC, as long as it's well-designed. However, I doubt most GoW people are even fans of this style of gameplay, and if it's going to be smaller-sized, I also doubt the visuals are gonna be on par with Ragnarok's. The audience that Sony is attracting now seem to mostly care about games that look like "blockbuster titles". It's why despite Astro Bot being a really good game, it never managed to sell as much as some of Sony's other bigger-budget exclusives. I'll still go out of my way to buy it if it's actually true, since i'm really down on smaller projects while they are working on bigger projects, like how Nintendo is doing, but I just hope Sony doesn't set any unrealistic expectations.

Re: Random: Commemorative Launch Plaque of PS5 Catastrophe Concord Donated to Thrift Store

Wardenknight133

I know a lot of people love to keep dunking on Concord, but I just can't help but see this as more depressing than anything. In Chelsea's perspective, she and her team worked days, months, even years on it, every sweat and tear, going through their faie share of ups and downs, hoping for all of it to paid off in the end. Only for the game to be pulled off from the stores after 2 weeks, be added in the Museum of Failures, and causing the studio's shutdown, with over a hundred of people losing their jobs.

Concord never piqued my interest so it's not like i'm trying to defend the game's failures, but I can definitly understand how much frustration and sadness she'd be feeling from just seeing that plaque. Perfectly understandable if she really just want to move on from it.

Re: PS5, PC Live Service Fairgames Is a 'Super Clunky' Cross Between Fortnite and The Division

Wardenknight133

@ChrisDeku If Concord, a game that lasted for only 2 weeks, had a more positive playtesting than Fairgames then yeah, i'm not having much faith in the game's success. And considering the studio's founder left supposedly cuz of negative feedback, it probably won't be much of a surprise if they decide to outright cancel it, which would probably cause the studio to suffer a fimilar fate to what happened with Firewalk Studios.

Plus, I know this is just my preference, but the game's setting just doesn't grab me much. Marathon, despite the current ongoing art-stealing controversy, has a more intriguing look to it that even someone like me who's not even into extraction shooters got somewhat interested in that game's world (that story trailer especially helped it). Fairgame's setting is essentially just, as describe by someone else, poor people killing other poor people for the sake of money.

Re: Bungie's New PS5 Shooter Marathon Grabs September Release Date

Wardenknight133

Looks very cool aesthetically speaking, but sadly it just ain't my cup of tea. I've tried other extraction shooters like Escape from Turkov and Hunt: Showdown but I dropped them after a while. They are not bad games, just that this genre isn't to my liking. I do hope things go well for Bungie with this game, at least hope that it doesn't turn out into another Concord mess.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Licensing Strategy May Be the Best Route to Reviving Some of PlayStation's Lost Classics

Wardenknight133

@ChrisDeku Obviously no one expects a game like Gravity Rush 2 to do big numbers on PC. Nevertheless, Sony ain't doing jack all with their japanese IPs so is it really a bad idea for them to outsource them to other studios to bring them to other platforms, be it as ports, collections or remasters? Literally the only ones that will be negatively affected by this are certain playstation fanboys' egos.

Besides, as someone who doesn't game on PC, i'd rather buy a Soul Sacrifice remaster for the Switch than on the PS5 since that game just feels more fit on a portable console than on a home console.

Re: Horizon Dev Promises It Isn't Trying to Replace Aloy Actress with AI

Wardenknight133

Wow, some comments in this article are a bit TOO forgiving with the idea of AI taking over jobs. How does Push Square of all playstation sites manages to get the attention of people like these is beyond me. Guess they just don't know that the real big reason why a lot of companies are going with AI over actual human employees is literally because they just don't want to pay them fairly.

Also very ironic that the first character that Sony is using for this demo is someone who comes from a series where the whole message is that the downfall of humanity was caused by AI. Does Sony lack that much of self-awareness?

Re: PlayStation Employs Bulletstorm Dev to Make New PS5 Game Based on Sony IP

Wardenknight133

People here are saying Killzone, Resistance, SOCOM, and as much as i'd love it be one of those, there's also a non-zero chance of it being based on The Last of Us, Horizon, and Uncharted, considering those are also third-person shooters. Better keep my expectations in check but I do hope things go well for them (especially since we don't know if Sony is still trying to force the live-service trend).

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for February 2025?

Wardenknight133

With only 2 first-party games revealed, those being Days Gone Remastered and Saros, it's become very evident the consequence of putting so many of your studios on the live-service trend only to cancel a majority of them. I bet that Bluepoint would've already had a new game by now if they weren't being forced to make a GoW live service game (still dumbfounded that idea even existed). Though i am a bit surprised that they couldn't show anything Fairgame$ related considering that game was announced back in 2023. Guess after the massive flop that was Concord it must've caused them to go back to the drawing board. Won't be surprised if they just quietly cancel it.

I will say, I am glad that Housemarque's next game is gonna be more like Returnal, unironically one of the best PS5 games to date. And more Onimusha is always nice.

Re: State of Play Confirmed for Wednesday, 40+ Minutes of PS5 News and Updates

Wardenknight133

Imagine if it's full 20 minutes dedicated to Fairgame$. That'll definitly make it memorable, not in a good way but it'll sure be simething if that were to happen 😂

Anyways all i'm realistically expecting is more gameplay footage for Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, and maaaaybe some tease of that live-service horizon game. I do hope to see that GoW greek saga collection come true tho. Those games were fun as hell.

Re: PlayStation Studios: All Sony First-Party Developers and What They're Working On

Wardenknight133

@playstation1995 I'm sorry but there's practically no chance Sony would even consider buying SNK. They've been mostly known within the fighting game space, and that's about it. While Capcom gave us Monster Hunter and Resident Evil, and Bamco gave us Dark Souls and Tales Of, SNK is still stuck with only making fighting games, and sadly they aren't as huge as the other two i've mentioned. I highly doubt that Sony would acquire all for exclusive rights on some fighting game IPs that they care less about.

Also, wanting SNK to be bought by them all because you love Metal Slug is pretty selfish. They don't need to be a first party studio just to put their games on playstation, and it's not like SNK even bothers on making a new big Metal Slug game by themselves anyways.

Re: Sony Cancels Bluepoint, Bend Studio PS5 Games, One Being a Live-Service God of War Title

Wardenknight133

Look, I get why Sony would keep trying to chase the live-service trend, all right? I can understand that those games usually make more money than single-player games, so I don't need some guy on here having to explain for the 10th time why live-service games are the future or whatever.

But good god, could Sony be any more dense? Do they not understand how much harder it is to manage a live-service game? You can't just order a studio that has absolutely no experience in that area to make one and then magically expect to get millions of dollars that easy. They NEED people that actually KNOW how to make those kinds of games.

Like do you expect me to believe that Bluepoint was somehow more than capable of making a live-service God of War game when all they've done before were mostly remasters and remakes? And I feel equally terrible for Bend studios since their first game in 5+ years was also going to be a live-service. I'll be SO mad if any of these studios were to shutdown cuz of Sony's incompetence.

Re: Unfazed by Concord, Sony Doubles Down on Exploring Service Games

Wardenknight133

@ChrisDeku See, I can kinda agree that Helldivers 2 must've generated more revenue for Sony than most of their single-player ips. There's a good reason why so many other studios are constantly trying to chase that live service money after all. However, I don't know why you had to bring up Concord as if it contributed somehow to those revenues. Game was taken offline and refunded after only 2 WEEKS and supposedly sold less copies than Astro Bot did in UK alone. I'd even say that Foamstars might've generated more revenue than Concord considering that game got 10 seasons of content while Concord couldn't even reach season 1.

In other words, you can't just use a failed example like Concord to prove your point on live service games and expect everyone to just agree with you. Yes Helldivers 2 did very well financially, but until the higherups at Sony understand WHY Helldivers 2 was such a success at launch, that game will remain as Sony's "one hit wonder" and you can't really fault people for being cautious about Sony's decision on doubling down on them. Especially with the way how they just outright shut down a whole studio instead of giving them a chance.

Re: Sony Becomes Kadokawa's Biggest Shareholder As Companies Form Alliance

Wardenknight133

@PSDeckSwitchOwner Exclusives do help move sales for a specific console, that's true. Thing is, Sony already has a bunch of original exclusive IPs under their belt. Problem is that Sony just refuses to revitalize those IPs for the modern audience likr how they've done with God of War. If the only solution to this is to buy a big studio just to have exclusive access to their IPs, then Sony would be no better than MS. I just refuse to adhere to a fanboy mentality where it's suddenly okay for Sony to do unnecessarily big aquisitions all because MS did it.

Besides, MS is already doubling down on their multiplat strategy, heck it wouldn't even be a big surprise if the next TES, Fallout and even Halo games are gonna come to playstation at some point. It's not like MS is doing any better in the competition after aquiring Bethesda and Activision.

Re: PlayStation Thanks the Fans with Emotional 30th Anniversary Montage

Wardenknight133

How cheeky of Sony to show a Bloodborne clip as the final one. But it does make sense for why they used "persistance" for it. Bloodborne is a 9 year old game that to this day people are still talking about it like it was a true cult classic and are still begging for a remaster, unlike other early PS4 exclusives like The Order 1886 which are largely forgotten even by Sony and when people are talking about it, it's only to reafirm the issue that unfortunately there are some gamers out there that still prefer style over real substance (or in simpler terms, graphics over gameplay).

Re: Kadokawa Wants Sony's Full Commitment with Buyout of Entire Company

Wardenknight133

We criticized Microsoft for buying Zenimax Studios, then we criticized them again for buying ActiBlizzard. What Sony is planning on doing now is the same crap MS did before. Unless it's a small studio that have made games before and are proven to be worthy partners for Sony, I don't want to see any more big studio aquisitions that would only lead to more unnecessary layoffs and restricted work rules.

In the case they do buy them however, I better not see any playstation fanboys on here or anywhere else that were hating on FromSoft's games for being boring or inaccessible just suddenly praising them like they were all buddies the whole time. Can never stand hypocrites.

Re: PS5, PC Shooter Concord Dead on Arrival, Is Being Taken Offline This Week as Dev 'Explores Options'

Wardenknight133

If it weren't for The Day Before, this would've been the fastest a live-service game has died.

However I am curious about the "explore options" part. Are they considering pulling a Multiversus move and re-release it when it's more fully complete with some drastic changes here and there? Or do they mean just finding what other games they can make that won't suffer the same fate as Concord?

Either way, I do really feel bad for the devs, hope they can bounce back from this, and hopefully this convices the higher-ups at Sony that making live-service games nowadays is way too risky, especially coming from a company that is already more dedicated on making single-player games anyways.

Re: Concrete Genie Developer PixelOpus Is Shutting Down

Wardenknight133

Maybe most people here won't care much about this since admittedly, Concrete Genie was pretty average (although I did platinum it). Still, I did appreciate its presentation and premise, if a bit flawed. For me, it at least had charm, and it was a decent breath of fresh air after playing so many exclusive that feels like they are all so focused on proving how graphically advanced they are.

What this tells me is that any studio that hasn't made a game that's on the same level as God of War, Horizon of Ghost of Tsushima yet are now threatened of being shut down, and I won't be happy if Media Molecule could be next, especially since Dreams is no longer getting any support (still no PC port btw which really hurts it). Fingers crossed that their next project will be a decent success, hopefully one that still has that Media Molecule charm while also getting ACTUAL marketing from Sony.

Re: Rumour: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for April 2022 Leaked Early

Wardenknight133

I respect your optimism about this lineup, but for me, it's pretty disappointing.

Hood was a game I was kind of interested, until I forgot that it was even released last year with minimal advertising and from what I've searched about the game, it looks like I didn't miss much (and on steam it's pretty much dead).

BfBB Rehydrated was an ok remaster that honestly feels like it didn't really add that much beside a couple of new idle animations and the horrifically bland multiplayer mode.

Slay the Spire is the only good one of the three but it's understandable if not many are interested since, at least from my experience, card games are more popular on PC and mobile than on consoles.

Re: Destruction AllStars' Challenge Series to Be Locked Behind Premium Currency

Wardenknight133

I'm honestly divided on this. On one hand, the game does look very fun and it certainly has a lot of charm and personality (which is more than I can say with the recent gritty playstation exclusives we've been getting), but locking behind single-player content behind a paywall is in my opinion a bit questionable. Granted it's not necessary to have it, but it's stuff like this that would've been fine if the game was free-to-play first and buy-to-play only for those that want access to all single-player stuff, and only the f2p players have to unlock them with premium currency. But that's just me.

If the game turns out to be a decent success at launch, then i'll be happy for the devs and will be interested on how they'll support the game onwards. If not however, then I won't be too surprised if the game will the suffer the fame fate as Battleborn or Marvel vs Capcom Infinite
