@WallyWest The First Blade stuff was atrocious. The other stuff and AC3 made up for it, but it was like they handed off the writing to a particularly untalented monkey. Hope Valhalla doesnt have that slump and can maintain what is already a pretty low bar of quality.
Wasn't as good as the Sonic movie. But I laughed at the gore and Kano was entertaining and it wasn't too long, though I did lose interest towards the end. It's like something that would have had Dolph Lundgren in if made around 1989. I did keep thinking "when are we getting to the tournament?" but I guess that's for a sequel.
Hopefully a sequel can bring in more meaningful detective elements. I was really expecting more of a focus on that side of things but it was almost non-existant. It was Yakuza and therefore a lot of fun, but they could really be onto something if they knuckled down on the investigation aspect. Like Ace Attorney, or a Frogwares Sherlock game but with a bit of the old ultraviolence.
First playthroughI tried my best to solve the case and get along with my partner. Second I'm playing the worst cop I possibly can.... drug addicted lecherous communist... and it's hilarious and sad all at once.
It's the definition of just okay. As the Pushsquare review said, it was comfort food. Very badly paced in my opinion, with vastly unlikeable characters (Sarah). But the NG +, tooled up from the beginning and ignoring the tedious camp stuff its.... still just okay. Also not everything has to be a franchise
Got to the Don Corneo dance off and decided life was too short. Some parts were genuinely thrilling when they hit that nostalgia button just right but it was just in amongst too much badly written anime cringe.
An 8 from me. Great world, characters and ideas. The story didn't pay off as well as it began imo but that's the case with a couple of the Yakuza games that have very silly twists. A sequel with refined combat mechanics and maybe Ichiban delving further into politics would be great.
@BloodNinja With XV It was the lack of the action bar. Whatever its called. Just healing whenever and hacking away made it very trivial once you got to grips with it.
Though I seem to be in the minority who vastly preferred XV to the 7 remake overall.
You guys do a great job. One suggestion - and I understand this is a Sony-focused site, but perhaps how some stuff fits into the wider world of videogames. Ripples of the splash if you will. Looking at trends in Japan, or what a microsoft hit means for Sony, or how games on other platforms took influence from God of War.
Very nice casting. Especially Ellie, as the actress looks suitably child-like and not - in the nicest way possible - typically attractive, which is important.
I hope we see Riley in some form too. Maybe flashbacks?
Excellent. Love the deduction mechanics in these games, but the clunky action scenes almost ruined Devils Daughter. The running through the forest bit springs to mind. Hopefully they've improved.
Yakuza stories are usually a bit hit and miss for me, getting too complex and wacky, but this one was great, the characters and themes really tied together nicely.
And LOU2 is on another level entirely for a video game.
13 sentinels is def on my to play list now though. Is there much of a game-play element to it? Or is it strictly in the visual novel genre?

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mass Effect Legendary Edition?
@Unlucky13 Ah yes, I guess legendary edition refers to the whole collected trilogy. Cool man, hope you enjoy em!
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Mass Effect Legendary Edition?
@Unlucky13 Personally, I find I consitently finished the OG Bioware games at around 25 - 30hrs. Its a good length I think.
Re: Aloy Trends As Fans Discuss Horizon Forbidden West Hero
She did have a very alluring walk in the first game.
Re: Almost Half of PlayStation Gamers Are Women
That almost half is still a difference of tens of millions towards male. Good for Sony though! Grow that market!

Re: Movie Review: Mortal Kombat (2021) – An Uneven, But Ultimately Enjoyable Film
@zupertramp The writing in the games is cringe, I think it was being faithful. At least it had the sense not to take itself too seriously.
Re: PSN Slowly Coming Back Online Following Widespread Outage
A mate had finally convinced me to give Fortnite a go. And then this happened. It's like... fate. Amazing.
Re: Free Days Gone PS4 Dynamic Theme Available for One Day Only
I would like a dynamic theme where Deacon is looking at Sarah's butt while lavander slowly sways in the breeze....

Let poor Hideo live his life. He's given enough.
Re: Next-Gen The Sinking City Launches on 19th February for PS5
Its a game with a lot of very cool ideas that falls a bit short. If it appeals to you, then you will probably find something to enjoy.
It's quite unique, but its ambition far outreaches its execution.
Maybe they can redesign some of the comically over-repeated interiors.

Re: Investigate a Few Seconds of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One PS5, PS4 Gameplay
@Arugula It's a cool Yakuza spin off, but it didn't really fully commit to the detective stuff. Puyo Puyo in the Tenkaichi St. arcade though so... <3
Re: New Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Game Reportedly Real
@MemSec The developer is "not a household name most people are aware of".
That bit. SE is one of the biggest developers on earth.

Their characters never met on Thrones though!
Re: Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood (PS5) - An All Too Brief Adventure
That title is the first great marketing fail of 2021.
Re: PS Plus February 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
Nice. Just rejoined Plus as I'm playing through the Dark Souls trilogy and enjoy the online elements. These are quite the bonus!
Re: New Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Game Reportedly Real
@MemSec Why? That doesn't fit at all with what is said in the article. Bad guess.

@Darten I keep hoping people will forget Dua Lipa and she'll have to take the Rita Ora route back to fame. That is, via nudity.

Anyone else really like Indiana Jones and the Emperors Tomb?
Bit of an underrated gem imo.

How is this any more pay to win than the xp boosts and whatnot? Standard Ubisoft / (JIm Sterling voice) "triple A" practice.

Disco Elysium. Cannot wait to experience this game.
