Ahead of yesterday's State of Play broadcast, everyone was trying to predict the games that Sony would show. Despite PlayStation telling everyone that the event would focus on Japanese publishers, Stray was a name that we saw being banded around social media and various forums (it even popped up amongst us editors!).
The PS5 and PS4 cat sim has been promoted by Sony in the past, and so a State of Play presence always seems like a possibility — but it obviously didn't show up, and publisher Annapurna Interactive actually confirmed that it wouldn't be there just hours before the broadcast.
In doing so, the company reiterated that Stray is still on track for 2022. Hoorah!
No, we don't have a release window, but at least Stray continues to target this year. Hopefully we get a confirmed release date sooner rather than later.

Would be so stoked for this but the lack of any real substantial trailer or any gameplay has me dubious..
I am looking forward to this, while my 11-year-old is beyond excited.
Despite enormous games, like the sequels to God of War and Breath of the Wild, being slated for 2022, Stray remains one of my most anticipated games of the year. Especially as my own kitten, Sonny, is an absolutely hilarious little rascal. Really can’t wait for this one.

I just don’t understand why we can’t get an estimated release date. I get nothing is definitely anymore, but why not say “expected September 2022, but subject to change.” I wish the industry was more transparent like that.
So is this 3D platformer game of being realistic cat?
@lolwhatno I love em, but my eyes get itchy and my nose gets clogged - I’m fine for about 20 mins then the allergies come full force
@Anti-Matter I don't think this would be classified as a platformer but otherwise yeah, an adventure game with a realistic cat in a sci-fi setting (most other characters seem to be robots).
Still one of my top most anticipated games of 2022. Screw Kratos. Kittens do nothing but think of murder all day long.

Excellent news! I'm intrigued by the world of robots they have created and the artistic vision driving it is very considered and artful in my opinion.

Out of all the games I saw last year(or was it the year before) being revealed this is the one I really want I hope they bring out a disc version to on release. That is the only p00 thing about smaller(if that is the right word to describe this game) games is that they might not even come out on disc I like my disc collection
