Re: Hob, Torchlight Developer Runic Games Is No More

SMKpaladin

I do like these online games as a service from time to time. But I don't have time to play more than one and I'm also not willing to play more than one at a time.
Last year Neverwinter was my go to game, then came Skyforge, Marvel Heroes Omega after that and now it's Destiny 2. As long as I'll be playing D2, the other games don't even exist for me.

Re: Review: Happy Dungeons (PS4)

I like the game, playing it at least every Monday since release while Destiny 2 is being maintained

There's some neat event going on in Happy Dungeon since last week, where you can grab some pretty helpful stuff. But this as well means grind grind grind.

Re: Feature: Taking a Look at Destiny 2's Best Story Mission

I like that exact mission so much, I already played it thrice

The only thing I do not agree upon is, that you land directly in front of the CPU. I always fall to my death because the vent shaft collapses and get respawned directly in front of the CPU. I played this mission with a friend, non of us managed to get to the platform without dying.

But the visuals, when you first enter the New Pacific Arcology are astounding. I was really impressed how everything visually changed just by stepping through a gap in the wall.

@Marios-love-child I found this in the blog post:

This doesn’t mean you’ll need PlayStation Plus though. As with all PlayStation titles, PS Plus will only be needed for the online multiplayer, portions of the Arcade Mode, including limited two-player split screen, single player races on select tracks and time trials can still be played offline.

Good review.

To be honest, I would've expected you mentioned, that much stuff has been copied 1:1 from D1. There are almost no new enemies, everything literally looks and feels exactly the same in D2 as in D1. They tweaked every aspect a little bit here and a little bit more there, but except the story and the planets, nothing new really.

Re: Feature: The PlayStation Store's Content Problem

SMKpaladin

I'd really like to customize my storefront in a way, so that stuff I don't want isn't shown at all. I remember the days when Evolve filled almost two store pages with DLC.

And I don't need to see games listed I already own, when I'm on a sale store page. They should be filtered or at least give a an option to filter them manually.

Re: Destiny 2 Down for Scheduled Maintenance Later Today

SMKpaladin

Dunno what time that would be in Germany, but I guess it's not far from the BST time zone. So yeah, it messes with my plan playing D2 after work.
I just hope that this is an exception, in D1 I never had to wait for maintenance to finish when I came home from work.

Re: Poll: Are You Enjoying Destiny 2?

SMKpaladin

In my opinion, you should've left the "didn't buy answer" out in the second poll. It was already fully covered in the first poll and it just doesn't fit the question of the second poll.

Re: Gamescom 2017: People Were Overly Critical of Mass Effect: Andromeda, Says EA

SMKpaladin

"if you go in and you buy the game today with everything that's in it today, I believe that that's a game worth buying, personally"

If that's what they're aiming for, then why could people pre-order the game and why were people able to play the game when it was released? Next time they should polish it first and then release it.

I'm still thinking about getting the game nontheless, played the demo and really liked it. Maybe when it's on sale again, I'll grab it.

No, it's not that simple. I too am one of these rare solo players nobody ever seems to even notice. I can handle myself pretty good in the Crucible and always perform above average in Strikes. But as soon as I'm interested in a raid, there's no way for me get into one.
During all my time in D1, I only went into one raid solo (the one on the moon) and ended that try at the bridge, which I couldn't cross solo. So I joined a clan, one with many hundreds of players from all over the world, one where you have to fill a form in order to get an invite. After joining the clan I only got invited into one raid (the one on the dreadnaught) and that was it.

Only because a clan made everything different for you (or most people you know), that doesn't mean this will apply to every other player. Besides of that, most solo players have their reasons for playing mostly solo. For me it's a time issue, I have child, I'm in a relationship and I have to work 40h per week.
So for me a matchmaking that helps me join a raid at a time I really am able to spend 4-6h straight playing, is the "only" thing that would help me seeing everything the game has to offer.

I’m still going to play D2 at release and will enjoy the games as much as I did D1, I’m sure of that. But there’ll also be a good chunk of content, which I’ll most likely never see for myself.
