Following on from yesterday's leak, PlayStation has confirmed that Horizon: Zero Dawn will be getting a Complete Edition before the year is out. It'll include the base game along with upcoming expansion, The Frozen Wilds. The company also revealed the package's cool looking box art, which we've embedded below.

Horizon: Zero Dawn Complete Edition launches on the 6th December in Europe. A North American date hasn't been revealed just yet, but we imagine it'll be set for the day before, as per the aforementioned leak.
Have you already played Horizon, or will this potentially be your first time? Go hunt some robots in the comments section below.
Update: PlayStation's US arm has confirmed that the Complete Edition will hit the New World on the 5th December. It'll cost $49.99.

Okay now I doubt pre-ordering the DLC... idk if I should wait to get this or... just go ahead and pre-order the DLC...
damm!t, why does it have to be this way
This suggests that the forthcoming Frozen Wilds DLC will be the one and only expansion, which would be a shame (was hoping for more!). The Complete Edition box cover art is nice though, better than the original box cover imo.
Well, there it is. Looks like I'll be waiting.
Unless there's a surprise for us, it's weird they'd do this after one expansion.
They probably want to get HZD 2 out asap
Witch means they are working on the Horizon sequel.
Double dipping is tempting...
Purchased the Limited edition and pre-ordered the DLC so won't be purchasing this. Seems like we are only getting the one DLC... I wouldn't have minded more - depending on how big the first is but happy to wait for a sequel...
@DLB3 I swear I double-checked that three times. Thanks for the heads up, fixed.
I'll have to get this when I buy the Pro, it must be one of those "must have" exclusives from what I've seen and heard of it. Looking forward to seeing what the fuss is about.
I sold my Horizon: ZD copy a few months ago but want to try the DLC. Are save files between these two editions compatible?
@rjejr Well, yes. This article is actually about a complete edition of a game, you mad git.
@DLB3 I think I checked, checked again. So that's one double check. Then I did that two more times. So it's like a triple double check. Maybe. All I know is i definitely looked at the tweet multiple times and still got it wrong!
The new art is nice
I already have the steelcase version though.
May give this a try in December as a Christmas present to myself.
@rjejr Would you honestly wait 9 months just to save $25? I wouldn't but I supposed if someone had a massive back log to get through then it would make sense.
Is HZD like anything else out there or does it have it's own unique gameplay?
Good price, too. Looking forward to trying this out next year after I've whittled down my PS4 backlog, as I've heard a lot of good things!
The box art is superb!
@rjejr
I precisely thought of you when I saw this and then, against all odds, you bought the game, for $50 (During E3 it was $40) and even the DLC already.
I played the original game and have the DLC preordered, so that's not much point in me getting this edition.
@sinalefa Well i bought the game for $50 for my son b/c it was his birthday Sept 17th and that's what he wanted. It had been $30 often over the summer and I asked my kids if they wanted it then but they said no b/c they were still busy playing Zelda. Then my kid wanted it for his birthday, what was I supposed to do? Then I bought the DLC b/c it was $15 w/ PS+, $20 w/o, and I wasn't sure if that was a Flash sale or permanent. So yeah, 3 weeks ago. Hence all the crazed ramblings, b/c I know better, but I did it anyway, and I hate when I do stupid things. Really should have just bought it for $30 over the summer and waited, don't know why I didn't. Moving on...
@ShogunRok "you mad git"
That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me, I didn't know you cared.
@rjejr
Your son's bday present and you complain? Guess if you bought it before Sept then your kid would have asked for something else, prolly more expensive, so look at the bright side
Giving your kid what he wanted is not stupid. Havent played it myself, blame Botw, KH and Splatoon 2. And in 3 weeks Mario.
Fantastic looking box art!Still,I bought my day one launch edition steel book and I'm happy with that.
Can't wait to spend more quality time with my Aloy
Still think they should've had at least another expansion. Horizon whilst hugely successful is still a new IP. Would've extended it's tail and kept it in gamers mind longer. They could've even tried some new things out as a test for the inevitable sequel.
Speaking of sequel, think HZD2 will be the last first party game we get this generation. Get it out for early 2019 (install base at 100mil+) and watch it sell like gangbusters.
@sinalefa I leave looking on the bright side to Jax.
It was stupid that I didn't buy it while it was on sale for $30 over the summer, not that I did buy it for $50 for my kid. There's a difference.
She's looking fab and lovely colour palette
It really is a fantastic cover. Makes Aloy seem very heroic and powerful.
Bought it on sale last month and finished few days ago. Good game and maybe I'll give the dlc a chance but I'm sure I'll forget about Aloy's animalbots once Monster Hunter is out.
Just picked this up on Tuesday second hand for an absolute bargain. Looking forward to continuing it tonight
I don't know why people want more then one expansion, surely it's better to be putting resources into a sequel after Frozen wilds.
This is nice but I prefer the original cover art. If this really is the complete edition, I guess that means we'll only get the one DLC pack.
Oh boy I've been waiting for this finally will get this game for myself
@rjejr I rather spend something extra on a good game then the crappy shuffleware COD or FIFA im gonna doubledip on this game hopefully on disc DLC.
@adf86 That shows that people really liked the game.
@Flaming_Kaiser True but there comes a point where the devs need to think that these new iddas they have might be better placed in a new game.
A bit cheeky from Sony, but this is sure to prompt additional purchases. Could be a nice game over the holidays.
@Nightcrawler71 well otherwise it wouldn't be much of a complete edition, would it? lol
@rjejr Absolutely needs to be on-disc DLC. Otherwise it's a complete farce.
Is this on disc DLC? I'll definitely have to pick this up at some point... Always leave the single player games till they're cheaper or got all the DLC, just the same game everyone else is playing just saving me money getting them abit later, nice!
@MaccaMUFC It's open world, action/adventure. Loads of bow and arrow combat. A focus on stealth. The machines are always a threat, and in a way, you never feel completely save, even if you know how to beat them and even after you've seen everything. It's a thing I appreciate in games. There are some light RPG elements, you level up and unlock skills. And there's a decent story too.
Guess it's a good thing I waited on this one. I pick up this version instead.
@rjejr The NS has different standards of farce.
I did not enjoy this game. I was on the Switch hype train at the time, but I couldn’t afford one. So I settled for Horizon instead of Zelda. And I hated it. I guess the pull of Zelda ruined it for me, because everytime I played Horizon, I only thought about how much I’d rather be playing Zelda on a Switch. A few months later I played Zelda on my friends Wii U. And I can confirm, Zelda is without a doubt the better game. Still waiting on money for the Switch. Maybe I’ll sell Horizon in order to buy it?
nice will be grabbing this for myself & a Xmas Present for my Niece.
@Hero_of_Hyrule If a opinion is posted onto the Internet, and no one cares, does it even exist?
@Tingle_The_Great
You cared enough to comment.
@Hero_of_Hyrule meh, I enjoyed Nier Automata more than both Horizon and Zelda BOTW.
@Mahe "The NS has different standards of farce."
Good point.
Good things come to those that are patient...like me . Now to wait 1-2 years until the Complete Edition is $25-$30 New or cheaper on Amazon/eBay .
@rjejr interesting that for a frugal consumer, you buy the DLC for a game before playing the game. What if you hate the game? (Pretty sure you won't, but ...)
I bought the game for 29€ just yesterday. Now I feel stoopid
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a gamer in possession of a day 1 release will be kicked in the goolies by a better/cheaper edition further down the line.
TBH I don't have a problem with these GOTY editions really. They work out well if you are on the fence about a game or never got around to it but I don't feel cheated. I loved HZD, I will get the DLC and glad I got to play this game at release.
@ShogunRok to confirm on checks did you...

For me the complete is nice, but I am more happy that the regular edition will now be cheaper. I don't have time for long games so the dlc has little interest for me.
@rjejr: Guess who waited for the "Complete Edition" of this?
