Following the confirmation earlier this year of a PS5 version once it reaches version 1.0, it's now been confirmed Abiotic Factor is ready for a full launch and will be available as part of PS Plus Extra from 22nd July 2025. This means we now know the first game for the PS Plus Extra lineup coming next month.
In fact, when you include PS Plus Premium on top, we actually know a fair few games the two top tiers will be receiving next month. The lineup so far looks like this:
PS Plus Extra: July 2025
- Abiotic Factor (PS5)

PS Plus Premium: July 2025
- Twisted Metal 3 (PS1)
- Twisted Metal 4 (PS1)
In terms of Abiotic Factor, this is a popular survival game coming over from PC that pitches itself as a "survival crafting experience" for up to six players, set within an underground research facility. After a containment breach, you're trapped miles beneath the surface and must work together to escape — or make the complex as much of a home as possible.
During the 12 months it's spent in early access on PC so far, Abiotic Factor has received "overwhelmingly positive" user reviews on Steam. Will you check it out next month on PS5? Let us know in the comments below.

Woah same old lol playstation plus essential is excellent again this month I have no faith in this though whatsoever
So they threw us a bone with a steam early access game thats mp only? 😤😤 That really disappoints me 😏
I’ve been over survival games for a long time now, they were everywhere about a decade ago but I’m always up for more games coming from PC to consoles.
Waiting for original Resi 2 and 3. Was hoping they'd be this month 🤞🤞🤞
@nessisonett isn’t steam mostly console games anyway ? Or the ones you might actually buy at least
@DaveTheRave Not at all, there’s a million and one games out there that don’t get a sniff of consoles, especially strategy games. It’s getting better but there’s still a lot that don’t really suit controllers
@nessisonett do strategy games sell by the million? I thought they were still pretty niche. From my only ever experience of steam from a steam deck I found it’s mostly console and shovelware
May jump in if random MP is enjoyable.
@DaveTheRave Yeah, Europa Universalis V will end up selling a bunch for starters, I reckon that’ll release before the end of the year. As much as Crusader Kings 3 and Stellaris got a console release, Victoria 3 didn’t so I’m not convinced EU5 will either.
Essentials was excellent, which makes up for this beige fizzle in a saucepan. Hopefully we’ll get something more exciting
Same people that demand day 1 titles on thr service moan just as hard when we actuallt get them.
Doesn't seem like something I'd typically jump into but i might give it a try, but only if I can play it entirely solo.
I am not complaining about Twisted Metal
Oooo pleasant surprise, Anbiotic Factory sounds right up my street. I'll certainly give that a bash, not sure when but that's a good game (at least sounds like) for me, love survival/crafting games.
However TM will be a defo skip for me. Not into older games, tried to play them, just can't Was great in its day though. Will be nice for fans of nostalgia.
Is it cross platform? It was announced as a Game Pass game at the start of the year.
What a load of 💩.why do I pay for premium as we were supposed to get the original resident evil 2 & 3.goimgnto.go down a tier as it's not worth it anymore.so many great old games out there
