@SanderEvers Believe it or not some people are happy to just turn on what they have under the TV & just play games without a care in the world about 4K screens & messing around with expensive graphic cards. You've listed your reasons for not buying a Pro, good for you. Should we all justify our reasons as well? My PC is better than your console is just childish.
@Splatburst valid point but also a moot one. When I buy a game I play it to its max. After that I can sell/lend it, because I own it. I have no cares for patches or hdd space being taken up once I have completed it. I'm a gamer not a collector.
Why buy digital? You never actually own anything. A physical purchase, as others have said, gives you the ability to trade/sell. Companies want us to switch to digital and avoid the production costs of physical format but wouldn't pass those savings to the consumer.
Played for about 4 hours last night without a single crash! Seemed like the textures draw distance has been improved (when flying low & slow) but after reading the above comments Im going see how it behaves over the weekend.
Got the day booked off & cant wait to get lost in it! I feel sorry for those that might have been caught up in the hype around this game but yet still ask 'what do you do?' The only review I am concerned with is my own. Bring it on!
@thedevilsjester I was making comment on the last couple of months, not the entire history of games offered. I don't subscribe to a yearly subscription because generally the games are poor.
The last couple of months have been pretty good for the PS4, this is a bit disappointing but with NMS out in a couple of weeks this month is taken care of.
Sean Murray has consistently said there are things that they havent showed yet & hopefully those things will be the icing on the hype cake that NMS has turned into.
@kyleforrester87 It sounds like it wont be a game for you then if you think its just going be collecting resources. I'm sure I don't need to reiterate the whole be a space pirate/trader, upgrading ships/guns, learning alien languages etc. rhetoric (as they have also been covered many times). For me, it is about the freedom to play the game as I want and not following a linear path, like the one Gordon Freeman walked and as did everyone that played HalfLife. I think the random generation could be the sticking point but we will see. This very well could turn out to be the video game equivalent of Marmite (other yeast spreads are available). A lot of people are going to be waiting for the reviews for NMS & it could go either way. Fingers crossed its a must buy!
@kyleforrester87 Yeah & Rocket League isnt Metal Gear Solid. You cant compare two completely different games against each other. NMS is about the vastness & flexibility.
I intend to play this like I would Elite, so the scope of the game is incredible (if it pans out as Sean is selling it!) The type of creatures you encounter are meant to get bigger & more dangerous the closer you get to the centre of the universe & I'm also interested to see how far you can upgrade/customize your ships/guns/suit. Gonna (try to) hold out for reviews. Best case scenario, you will only be limited by your imagination, worst case scenario, a upgraded version of Elite.
It's been listed on Amazon at that price for months. Why all the suprise? Most indie games last for about 6-8 hours, if you are in to this game you will be spending a lot more time than that playing it. You are getting a (supposedly) never ending game, why wouldn't it be full retail price? Personally I'm gonna wait for the reviews.
It would be great to see it next year but they surely cant be near the end of development yet after spending so much (justified) time on W3? I would like to think they wont rush this release without making sure its fully polished & I cant wait!
@FrankNelson Thanks for that but I dont need a spell to win back Ratchet or Clank. I have already arranged to meet up with them in April. I have the details of a good psychiatric home should you require it.
@kyleforrester87 Any review is purely subjective. One mans Fallout 4 is another mans Tony Hawk 5 & vice versa. You are the only person that can say if its worth the review score. Reviews are there to help you make a bit more of an informed decision, as are the comments of people on forums who have played the game. Knowledge is power!
From the day of release Mad Max had 'Bargain Bucket' written all over it. As said above £15 in the new year or buy a physical copy delivered to your door from Amazon £25 today.
@Matroska I didnt have an opportunity to play last night but Im sure load times for me on Fallout are longer than that. Maybe my PS4 is struggling, maybe Im just impatient to get back into the action! I will time it next time I play. With regards to JC3 it would seems not everybody is suffering from these 15 minute load screens. I remember playing Styx: Master of Shadows & the load times on that were diabolical. If its as bad as that I might reconsider. Hopefully they can optimize it in a future patch.
@Matroska Really!? Fast travel and entering a building can take quite a few minutes at a time in Fallout. (Are you playing it with rose tinted glasses on? ) Have you actually played JC3 to be able to back up this 15 minute load times claim? It surely cant be that bad. Right?
Sold! (Been waiting for this since it was announced) Should have enough time to finish most of the quests in Fallout 4 before moving on to total destruction in this.
Played the beta, looked great, lacked any depth. Plus holding back parts of the game behind a season pass is just taking the p!$$ out of gamers! Seems like a great waste of a massive licence. Would have loved a single player/co-op experience. Im sure it will sell, well but only because it's propbably on a lot of kids Christmas list.
Does it not seem that the 'sale' prices just reflect the price they go for on Amazon? I dont get why people make digital purchases, you are paying to rent the game. If you own a physical copy you can sell it & make some money back.
Im gonna wait till it drops in price or get it pre-owned. Ive done these missions before in EVERY previous AC & I despise collectibles in games, they add nothing. Its looking like a very tired series now.
@SonyInfinity Totally agree. I always get physical copies. They are cheaper than the online store & you can trade them in when you have finished with them.
@get2sammyb All part of the marketing strategy laid out by Sony probably. There has been a distinct lack of gameplay footage recently so hopefully we will get a release date soon.
Absolutely FA chance of this happening. Sony have dumped loads of money into this game & they will expect a huge return. The only way to ensure that happens is by flooding all media platforms with as much advertising as possible. At best we might get a release date (fingers crossed!)
@Gamer83 Agreed but then quite a lot of completionists & trophy/cheevo hunters will simply boost them and never go back again. Something that data wont really convey.
