Out for other platforms as well. Please mention that because sometimes I read these articles on new game releases and when I read 'coming out on PS4 and PS5' I often forget to fact check whether these games also come out on my other favourite platform (PC).
South Africa doesn't even have PS Now so I wouldn't have benefited from this anyway. I'm not going through an additional loophole by setting up different region accounts etc.
Glad it got blocked now. But it's so funny that the 'gold' rush actually just made Sony a bunch of money.
Looks insanely good for a free update. Wish I had someone to play it with. I haven't gotten far in the game. Rare for a game to crush my spirits this hard.
@danlk1ng I was merely pointing out that the frame rates are not the same (given like-for-like graphic settings) between the GPUs as you were saying in your original comment.
If that were the case then there is an even bigger problem with the game's optimization outside of the annoying stuttering.
@danlk1ng not entirely true what you are saying there. Yes, even RTX 3080's are dipping in the game but obviously the GTX 1060 can't have consistent high FPS at 4K (with MAX settings) like the 3080 can...
My 3080 Ti runs 60FPS at 1440p without a problem, barring the obvious dips that all PC's are getting atm.
Awesome game. I initially started as Wretch and got around 11 hrs in, but felt super underpowered with some of the main bosses. I showcased the game to a friend whilst starting anew as Samurai, and haven't looked back since.
I'm now 13 hrs in with the Samurai class and G was a cakewalk this time (albeit I did find some pretty strong Spirit and Ashes of War to help me).
This game is so addictive, just like other Soulsborne games. The open world exploration is out of this world.
Cancelled my physical copy preorder a few days ago. Not that I'm not interested in the game, but because I haven't finished HZD yet and Elden Ring is around the corner. Might as well save a few bucks by buying it second-hand.
I really hope that the performance mode is not less than 1440p. Eagerly awaiting Digital Foundry's eventual upload.
No thanks. I'm old-school (if you can really call this old-school) in that I love to anticipate a particular game, put down my hard-earned dollar to buy and play the game, and then either be done with it or revisit it sometime later. I don't want to be caught up in the cycle of 'BUY CONTENT 1', 'BUY CONTENT X' every time I open the game.
@RudeAnimat0r the Forza Horizon series is very popular (even more outrageously in 'excess' than GT), so I don't understand why you say that the passion in the industry as a whole needs to be reignited when your personal enjoyment of the culture has diminished.
Slight correction: it's not 'astrological' data, but more related to astronomical data. Astrology in GT7 might've been used for the roleplaying aspects, but not how the sky is simulated.
I platinumed Dark Souls Remastered yesterday and have since finished 2 speedruns of Dark Souls Remastered in around 40 mins each (because I love the game so much).
Tonight and Sunday I'm planning on playing Uncharted 4 (PS5)
@PegasusActual93 I get you. Dying light was complete. But Devs seem to launch games with strategies in place to leech money as much as possible. Even if it's just psychological how they get you.
What if this is not what I (and probably many others) want?
I don't want a half-assed game that needs tons of DLC to be worthwhile to play long-term. Look at Dark Souls, Bloodborne etc. I frickin love those games and they each had only ONE DLC package.
I just want a game that is polished at launch, that I can finish in a few days and decided for myself whether the game is good enough to replay. Don't want DLC packs smothering the experience every time I log in.
I am mildly addicted to trophies. I don't get the platinum for every game that I play, but I do try for most of them.
My most recent platinum trophies are Bloodborne and Days Gone. I use trophies as a way to extract more value from the game in question, because in previous times I would be 'done' with a game without having seen a lot of the extra content that it offers beyond just doing Any% essentially.
@Bestnameeva making many assumptions here. Even with like-to-like graphics settings, a PS4 version can run WORSE than a native PS5 game. So why shoot down this article by dismissing it as 'obvious'?
I actually preordered the PS4 physical version so I'll have both to pick my favourite one to play on. If I had chosen the PS5 version I would have been locked out of the PS4 I presume.
@jdv95 I played RE Village on PC and really enjoyed it. But even though it's a remake, Demon's Souls on PS5 is AMAZING so that should be in top 3 (imo).
Only 5 PS5 games, so it's a easy top 3 for me:
Demon's Souls
Astro's Playroom
Rift Apart
Returnal I've played, but not enough to push it to top 3 so that is obviously very biased from me (also, regards to PS5 games that is the order I played them in).
Deathloop I've not played at all, but because it's also on PC I don't really count it anyway.

Absolutely appalling lineup.

Take your pick:
Offline-capable, endless hours with possible DLC pack(s) at reasonable prices:
Horizon Forbidden West
Elden Ring
Live service, microtransactions bound to real-world prices:
GT7
Re: Sci-Fi Action RPG Dolmen Explores a Hostile Planet on PS5, PS4 in May
Elden Ring <3 Not excited for anything else atm.
First time hearing about this game. Nothing too spectacular about that trailer. We'll have to wait and see what it is like to play.
Re: Test Your PlayStation General Knowledge - Issue 4
Meh, most of these very irrelevant to PlayStation

Re: Elden Ring (PS5) - Likely Another FromSoftware Great
Getting it on PC for smooth 60 FPS (according to some reviewers it only stutters now and then on PC).
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5?
Just finished Uncharted 4 with the Legacy of Thieves Collection, and nearly done with Lost Legacy.
Now it's time for Dying Light 2 and Total War Warhammer 3 on PC until Elden Ring drops.
Horizon I've delayed for a bit till I can get it secondhand.
I might pick up Cyberpunk on PC later this year.
This month has been hectic in the gaming department, just as expected !

Re: Horizon Forbidden West PS5, PS4 Pre-Load Available Now
Agreed. I actually cancelled my physical copy preorder 2 days ago. Might as well wait for the insane price to drop in the second-hand market.
as much as I am interested in HFW, Elden Ring will take center stage.
Anyone know if the PS5 download is smaller than the 90GB?
Re: Poll: Did You Buy Sifu on PS5, PS4?
When it goes on sale for a good price I'll get it.
I certainly feel up to the challenge, but I don't see myself paying R700 for that experience right now, just before HFW and Elden Ring drop.
Re: First Impressions: Gran Turismo 7 on PS5, PS4 Looks Like the Biggest and Best Yet
I just want a good SP experience, and I don't think anything revolutionary in that regard is on the cards for GT7.

Already got this bundled with an ASUS product for PC so won't be getting a console version any time soon. Can't wait to dip into the game.

Interesting that they didn't release 4K60 footage, although they did with the gameplay trailer a few months ago.
Re: Mini Review: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition (PS5) - A Still Great RPG Bolstered By a Lot of New Content
Bringing back some good and bad memories. Remember excitedly booting this up on the 360 back when it released 10 years ago.
I've moved on from the bad performance though. Playing Special Edition on PC will still suffice for me.
Re: Hands On: FromSoftware Puts Its All into Elden Ring
Very hyped for this game... FromSoft haven't disappointed since I discovered this amazing team with Demon's Souls back in 2009.
