Horizon Forbidden West PS5 PS4

If you have pre-ordered Horizon Forbidden West through the PlayStation Store, the option of pre-loading the title ahead of release should now be available to you. The download in Europe sits at 90.55GB and is currently patched to version 1.03. Meanwhile, the game's size in the US is a few gigabytes less. That's most likely due to the number of language packs included in the European version.

Horizon Forbidden West launches for PS5, PS4 on 18th February 2022, so the icon will be sitting on your home screen for one week before it's ready to play. We'll have a full PS5 review for you to read on Monday.

However, as we have previously reported, there's a way of getting the game for $10 cheaper. Horizon Forbidden West offers a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade after Sony backtracked its decision, meaning you can get the PS5 version for $60 by purchasing the PS4 edition and then immediately upgrading. This applies to both the physical and digital versions. The only problem is you can't pre-load the PS5 version if you're going to follow this method.

You'll need to wait for the game to release on Friday next week and then head into the PS Store to grab your free PS5 upgrade. Which route are you taking? Simply pre-loading either the PS4 or PS5 version or waiting so you can take advantage of the free upgrade? Make your decision in the comments below.
