@Flaming_Kaiser I never said it ten times and I never mentioned full games. I talked about releases. And five releases in six years, with the last two releasing within two months of each other, is flooding the market, or at the very least bad timing. I love the IP, but I want to avoid franchise fatigue. The statement: "there may be multiple online Horizon games in the works" does not inspire confidence..
Yay, another remaster tie-in with a movie/tv series. Just, no… The only thing that this IP really needs is a live service MMO spin-off (but I prefer a proper sequel)
@get2sammyb 5 releases in 6 years? Some would consider that flooding the market. I like the Horizon IP, but I wish they would give it a rest and give Killzone some love or create something new.
I don't see the logic: sales are down, profit margins are getting slimmer, current PS5 price cuts are unlikely, and it remains doubtful if a Pro model can offer meaningful upgrades for an acceptable price point. Just last week Hiroki Totoki stated that he wants the company to be aggressive when it comes to improving its gaming division’s profit margins, by "putting product lines together to make it affordable, without relying on steep discounts, to reasonably sell them to continue our commercial journey on a sustainable basis" Releasing a PS5 pro would be moving in the opposite direction.
Really looking forward to this. So glad this isn’t another unimaginative military shooter where you run around in a Nicki Minaj skin. I loved the first one and I’m ready to save democracy in 3rd person perspective.
Bit naive to assume that any hypothetical profits of a mobile or GaaS ‘winner’ will be reinvested into PlayStation Studios single player games. If they do hit the jackpot, a big chunk will go the shareholders and I doubt they will want to invest in expensive, lower ROI, single player games if they can milk a successful mobile/GaaS cash cow dry.
I miss the trendsetting PS1 and PS2 days. Nowadays it feels PlayStation is just chasing trends.
I had a lot of fun with this game over the weekend. It really has this “one more game” vibe. Playing with friends, it’s hard to put down. I don’t get the negativity concerning the AI voice work. For what is essentially background noise, the AI solution is just fine. If this frees up resources for game development that’s OK.
Select up to five games? Jeez, I had trouble picking just three. Not much to be genuinely excited for so far. Where are all the PlayStation Studios titles?
Jeez, bug fixing a full priced master collection. How low can you go? I’m looking forward to having the complete serie on PS5, but agree with @Arnna and @LifeGirl this is over priced. I still play these games on the Vita each year and see no added benefit. With the exception of MGS1, they have sold this collection multiple times now
@Tchunga great question. I was thinking the same. @Quintumply Thanks for the review, but I was wondering; do you benchmark games like Spider-Man 2 against other recent sequels to settle the great game vs. not innovative enough argument? I know you also reviewed HFW, but I would love to see this debate reflected more broadly in a review, maybe as part of the second opinion. I’m loving the discussion in the comments and I think it would really add to the review of any future sequel.
Ridiculous schedule? The only thing I can think of is just… meh. To each their own I guess, but I have to dig really deep to come up with a game that launches in 2024 that I’m genuinely excited for. A lot of titles are still MIA and that is really starting to worry me.
What really is a joke is the lack of first party releases, particularly for PSVR2. Just make smaller, high quality games (uncharted lost legacy, anyone?) and stop chasing the live service gravy train.
Looking forward to the Porsche 904. You can easily earn 20+ million credits doing just the circuit experiences. Combine that with selling all the cars you don’t need/like and you should have more than enough to buy almost anything.
@MagicalBarrie I suspect they don’t have that many employees on the Dutch language chat. After you fill in your name I get an error message saying it could not make a connection even while indicating that there are employees available to chat..🤔 I tried to use the UK or US chat, but it immediately redirects.
@Discol76 @MagicalBarrie Yep and the email confirming my preorder is cancelled. But still no way to log in and place a new order. Tried several times during the day with different devices and browsers. Can’t get through to customer service either. 😩
@Discol76 I have the exact same issue! Apparently you can only change address within 30 min after placing the order.. I cancelled my preorder, thinking I could place a new order straight away, but now it’s impossible to log in. So I’m left empty handed 😭🤷🏻♂️
Great news. Would be strange if they hadn’t started development on the new instalment. I doubt two titles per console is a given at this point and I’m curious where they think they can improve. Ray tracing in race won’t be enough. I just hope they’ll keep supporting GT7 for at least a few more years and they stay miles away from the Horizon/crew/open world format.
The ending of Part I was perfect. I just wish they would have left it at that and put all their efforts into Factions instead of Part II. They could have used factions to explore TLoU universe for years. I hope there will be no Part III and ND moves on to a new IP. 🤞🏼
I’m playing Gravity Rush 2 and streaming the Puppeteer and Rain via premium, which is actually quite a good experience. I really miss Studio Japan’s output on PS5
It’s bit bizarre that Gran Turismo 7 is nowhere to be found in this top 10. Apparently not many racing fans in Push Square Towers. Enough remasters on the list though.. 🤔
Yes, keep the updates coming. I don’t know where all the hate is coming from. Sure the roulette system sucks. But the economy is fine. You’ll earn more than enough credits by completing the menu’s, circuit experiences and time trial events. And since they added the option to sell your cars, money is even less of a problem. Unless you want to buy every single car in the game. I have never felt the urge to ‘top up my wallet’. I played every GT since the PS1 days and GT7 is easily the best.
That’s great news. I loved the first one. Happy to wait for the PSVR2 release. Now please confirm half life alyx and beat saber as part of the launch lineup and I’m good to go 😎
After watching All quiet on the western front on Netflix, I started playing 11-11: Memories Untold. Great game about WW I where you explore a story from the German and Canadian perspective. It has a really special art style. The whole game looks like an impressionist painting. Other than that I’ll play some GT7 and I’m trying to finish Sniper Elite 4
Hi Aaron, thanks for the review. Great to see Push Square doing hardware reviews for racing wheels. Are you planning to review comparable wheels from other manufacturers? Slipping pedals sure are annoying. Even when playing behind a desk a good wheel stand is recommended. Should you fancy you chances, feel free to participate in the weekly time trial event in the GT7 forum thread.
@nessisonett Well, to add some objectivity in this discussion: “However, people who use the term "Karen" say that it is not simply a catch-all for all middle-aged white women - and is, rather, dependent on a person's behaviour.” https://www.bbc.com/news/world-53588201.amp
Dialling in my race strategy for GT7 race night with the Push Square faithfull and some HFW. I also decided to give PS+ premium a run for its money by streaming Batman Arkham Origins. I went in with 0 expectations and so far it is a really decent experience. Makes me realise how much I miss a proper Batman game on PS5.
Gran Turismo 7: preparing my gr3 and gr4 cars for the upcoming Push Square manufacturers championship in November and having some fun with the current time trial event. Besides that I’ll try to finish Mafia definitive edition this weekend and start on Horizon Forbidden West.
I think it’s great for newcomers to experience the best possible version of both games especially with the upcoming HBO show. But I’m afraid for what’s next coming from Naughty Dog, a ps5 remake/upgrade of Part II? And we haven’t heard anything on the release of Factions in ages. I wish ND surprises us with a new IP..
No thanks. I played it on PS3. Good memories, but no need for a remake or a Part II for that matter. The ending of Part I is just perfect for me. But I do hope the Tv show and the remake attract a whole new audience.

@NYJetsfan123 First you have to buy the specified tyres in the Tuning Shop. Then you can change them in your garage or car settings before a race

GT7 and probably Psychonauts 2, Kena, or Slay the Spire. Got the platinum for GoT so I am looking for something different.
