Re: The Next Horizon Game Is an MMO for Mobile and PC, Prompting Fury from PS5 Fans

Looks awesome! While I am disappointed by no PS5 release, I'm certainly not as angry as some.

This strategy isn't unique to this game at all (Look at Persona The Phantom X, for example, Asia release first and PC/mobile only. SInce came west but is still PC/mobile) and I think it's a hard pill to swallow for some, especially if you're someone who's been so against the live service initiative but is faced with an offering you're actually interested in.

Feels like the core PS audience is ignorant of the kinds of live service strategies available and just how big that side of gaming is.

I'm not sure how much Guerillas co-op online game plays into this but maybe they don't want overlap. We also don't know yet how much of a live service Guerrillas project is, my theory is it's closer to what Helldivers 2 does.

Do I think it could get a PS5 release? Maybe. SIE could be the western publisher if that happens.

Re: Lost Soul Aside (PS5) - Long Awaited Action Is Both Awesome and Painfully Awkward

I finished the game on Sunday and thought about platinum but I don't have the patience after seeing what it requires...(2 more PTs of main story and 3 PTs of Boss Rush, you can't just select Nightmare, you have to work your way up)

I'm pretty sure this game started out as an open world game (heard this mentioned in a PS Access video from years ago) and I could see how that might of been too ambitious for the team and ultimately had to rethink the title into what we have today.

Some pieces of opinion:

  • Combat is great and is what kept me playing. +Arena powers and Boss fights.
  • $30 - $40 seems like a more apt price. A lot of the CHP games seemed well priced compared to the content they offer. (I've bought Anno Mutationem, AI Limit and Awaken Astral Blade)
But $60 is absurd and honestly is what I think hurts it the most.
  • I almost never crafted anything because I just kept finding potions normally. This system was probably from the original OW concept.
  • I personally stopped caring about the weapon accessories as I progressed. I never understood how the ranking worked for those. I thought maybe I had to have 2-3 of same ones equipped but that did nothing.
  • Trinkets were cool.

All in all, I think it's a good first game for the studio and I hope, if they make another game, they have a clear focus from the start.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate Summer Game Fest 2025?

I'm excited for DS2 but holy, did Kojima really need to be on stage to present a small CLIP, with a big stream just days away??

RE Req is day 1 for me. Some of the small indie games looked great.

But a huge emphasis on MP/Live Service games and even some literal "here's update 1.x" trailers really broke the board for me.

Re: Official Oblivion Remastered Announcement Coming Tomorrow

I only spent a small amount of time with my Steam copy, so this will be a welcome version. I'm only worried that physical availability might not be there on day 1 and might be similar to Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster where we might have to wait a month (or more)

If that's the case I'll probably just buy it digitally.

Re: Could the Next Xbox Get a Head Start on PS6?

I see no reason to hang on Spencers public comments (or private comments for that matter) he felt the same about PS5 and look what happened.

This is the ultimate Hail Mary, if it's true. And I think it's probably a mistake.

I'd raise serious concerns about whether this has enough planning put into it (a rush job?) and with the reveal of the Xbox Muse generative AI, I gotta wonder if this will be integrated to try to drum up talk. Yuck.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for February 2025?

The only thing I think was missing was a new Ghost of Yotei trailer and maybe a Convallaria update, although it's been...quite awhile. IMO, it was obvious DS2 wasn't gonna be here given the upcoming PlayStation Presents event with Kojima.

Some highlights of mine:

  • Stellar Blade X Goddess of Victory DLC (I have no experience with the mobile game but hey, more costumes! Will probably be $10.)
  • Tides of Annihilation
  • Lost Soul Aside | This trailer sold me on the game.
  • (Tentative feel) Mindseye | Interesting to think that this is from their "Everywhere" platform. I didn't even know it was gonna be released as a separate game, thought it was playable within Everywhere.
  • Blue Prince | First trailer a couple months ago convinced me, nice inclusion for PS Plus.
  • Saros | They cook in that house.
  • Dreams of Another
  • Hell is Us
  • (Tentative feel) Borderlands 4 | Loved the gameplay of 3. However, I'm gonna wait for reviews and see how the story shakes out.
  • The Midnight Walk

If some of you can't see the pattern by now, I'm sorry. It really is a great feeling. Some of you seem to crave this burst of short term excitement that you'll realize down the road was a waste of energy.

Re: Here's How to Get a Physical Copy of Ninja Gaiden 2's Remake for PS5

I enjoyed 1 and 2 in the Master Collection and am gonna buy the remastered PSN version later today and hop to it.

As much as I enjoy physical games, I'd rather not wait 2 months for this.

Same for LRG (and they seem to take even longer). In my opinion, these things come off as last minute considerations when you've got months long waits just for things to ship. Puzzles me that this is how it goes, god forbid you're ready on time. This paragraph was aimed toward LRG, by the way.

But I am planning on buying something from PlayAsia (for the first time) and seeing how it goes. Venus Vacation PRISM isn't available outside Japan/Asia so that's my only option.

I plan on picking it up next Friday. Wanted to finish the Silent Hill 2 remake (I have) before starting this. I might jump back into the demo and finish that then carry over my save.

I couldn't help but notice the DLC costumes in the add on section, I'm not against them being available but am kinda disappointed it's mostly just more Persona skins. I would've preferred more original designs.
