Re: 'They Don't Know What They're Doing': Analyst Sticks the Boot in Sony's 'Clueless' Management

I agree with what he's saying, and to your point of them having a 1 billion in operating income. They are still riding the waves of good will from the PS4 era. Everyone bought into this generation in good faith that it would be more of the PS4 era this gen, but its been FAR from it.

Sony wont feel the blow back of this generations decisions until PS6. Not to say they'll sale bad because they have no competition. But you have a lot of people including myself that probably will just stick with there PS5s. Sony has proved this gen that there is no reason to upgrade quickly. As far as I can see unless you like ports or live service games with an occasional single player game here and there, what is the point in getting a PS6 at launch. 🤷‍♂️

Their shift to live service and commitment to cross gen lasting forever this generation is the reason I'll ride my PS5 until it dies. If this gen has taught me anything is to stop buying hardware day one anymore. There is no big benefits to upgrading anymore. You might have two titles the whole generation on PS6 that you cant play on your PS5.

@get2sammyb "And I really don't know how they expect to transition players to PS6 at this point. They've already got a very vocally dissatisfied fanbase, and now you're telling them there'll be no exclusives and cross-gen will last for years so pony up for the new $800 box."

This is VERY well said. Ive been thinking the same thing since about year four of the PS5. I could careless about getting a PS6 until the end of that generation with how long cross-gen has lasted this generation. Plus, with them now porting there games to other consoles that just about seals my delay.
