@Ear_wiG thanks for your advice. I'm playing Miles Morales right now, but this is on my radar despite never playing a Souls game. I don't find uber difficult games very tempting (as I only have so much time to play and I don't want to punished for it, lol) but knowing there are ways to make it easier on myself pretty much guarantees I'll be asking for this for the holidays.

I'm working long hours this weekend, but I'm hoping to squeeze in more Miles Morales on Sunday night!

So, I got mine today and have messed about with both Astro and Miles. I've had to stop and start my playing (busy day), and have just simply closed games and shut down the system with no problem. I don't really expect any issues so long as I keep on with that for the time being.

@God_of_Nowt yes indeed, thank you. My console arrived today and it's waiting for me at home. I'll be sure to hold off on using my external and/or using rest mode (which will take adjusting to as I almost always have my Pro is rest mode when not in use). I'll wait for the inevitable update!

Mine is due to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully early in the day as I have much longer work days this weekend and will have less time to mess around with it.

Mine finally shipped from Wal-Mart yesterday. It's due on Friday. Thankfully, I have a short workday that day, so I should be home when it arrives. I was beginning to wonder how late it would be, but I'm happy with Friday, especially considering what others are dealing with.

Forgive my ignorance, but why are "always online" games a turn off for some people? My system is always online and I never think about it. I'm not knocking anyone at all, just genuinely curious. Is it because the servers could potentiality get shut down, rendering a game unplayable? That's the main thing I can think of.

@Enuo same, but I got an email today saying it might be "a day or two late." Hopefully that's all since I got my order in on day one, but we'll see...

I don't know if I've just learned to tune it out, or if mine didn't have that problem, but I don't remember my PS4 (or later, my PS4Pro) making much noise. (It could also be that I've kept them in an open cabinet and they could breath) Still, I'm glad the PS5 will be quiet ☺

I'm actually quite interested in this game, but with Miles Morales coming (and Spider-Man Remastered, which I'm looking forward to) and a large (LARGE) backlog of PS4 games to finish, I'll be holding off on this one pending reviews and a good sale.

Seriously though, I got mine in the mail a few days back and that was the first thing I noticed when I looked at it (I hadn't paid much attention to it prior to that, I suppose because I already knew I wanted it). I thought it was pretty funny/cute/awesome.

Edit: FWIW, this was the one item I ordered from PlayStation Direct.

I got a really good deal a couple of years ago on a 70" Vizio 4K HDR TV. It's not the best, but I'll be happy with it for a while.

I really enjoyed this game (though I agree about the annoying shouting, LOL). I've been holding off on NG+ hoping saves would transfer to PS5, so that's good news to me.

I wonder how different it will feel at 60fps...

@Dobbos YES! I meant to ask about that, as well. Just in general (for me), can the PS5 apps stream in 4k UHD? Not just Netflix, but YouTube, VUDU (I assume it's coming), Amazon, Disney+, etc?

@Dahewit2 I haven't been able to use my controller yet (no PS5), but just messing about with it, it feels very solid to me so far. I really like the feel of it and it seems sturdy. Time will tell, of course.

I'm also curious about the quality of 4K movies. I have a 4K player already, but I opted for the PS5 with the disk drive because $100 US dollars for a 4K Blu-ray player is a really good price. I figure if my standard player ever craps out on me the PS5 will make for a good backup... or will it?

I'd also like to know more about the UI. How fast is it to go from one game to another on average and what is the media tab like?

I've loved horror since I was a kid, but I'm a bit weird, so it doesn't scare me (the only movie to really give me the creeps was the original "The Shining"). That being said, while I really enjoy horror and its themes, I've never really been into horror games (outside of the occasional "Days Gone" like game that just "kind of" has horror elements). I don't know why, but I've just never been that interested in them. That being said, while I don't really like watching other people play games, I think it's a perfectly acceptable form of entertainment. If that's how you enjoy those kinds of games, I say go for it 😁

I just got my new PS5 controller in the mail. It's chunky, but it feels really nice in the hands! I can't wait for my system now! 😁

I got my media remote in the mail today and my spare controller is on its way, as well. I'm getting excited...

That's amazing. It really makes me want a 90's animated series suit in the remastered Spider-Man (Ben Reilly's Sensational Spider-Man suit is still my #1 want from the new suits, though).

I also wonder if they'll do an update on the Spiderverse costume in the original/remastered to remove the occasional animation frame to mimic the movie like this one? Probably not, but if they did, I suspect I'd use it more (yes, I'm still playing it, lol. Got the Platinum and still going strong).

@oldschool1987 I'm a pretty liberal guy, but I love a good offensive joke from time to time (my favorite comedian of all time is George Carlin, if that tells you anything).

My takeaway from what I read about this was, if you're going to get (essentially) fired for a joke, at least make it a funny one. That joke was weak, LOL.

I always liked Colin's reviews on IGN because they were thorough and informative. I don't really care about his politics either way when it comes to his content.
