I will never understand the hate, beyond the story stuff which is all opinions, this is a AAA single player, story driven exclusive that spares no expense, it's well worth a play simply for that.

Understand the thinking, but Sony continues to think they can just walk in these markets and say "we're here, bring us $$$!", same thing happened with PC, the first few had success due to the novelty of it but now they're dust in the wind.
Mobile gamers are an entirely different breed, NINTENDO with MARIO couldn't breakthrough and have abandoned their mobile plans.
As desperately as Sony has tried to get their gaming to not be so dependent on console, it just isn't that easy, especially after 30+ years of doing it.

Actions speak louder than words, so all I need is for them to keep acting as if the all out "live service" push train is being derailed, fairly confident in that one at this point.
I'm expecting a very slow 2024 as they clean up the live service mess and get PS Studios back on track, so stuff like TLOU2 Remastered and maybe some high level remaster/ports from PS3, for example: would love a Ratchet & Clank collection with some under the hood work done for PS5 + full trophy support.
Band aid us with that stuff, give PS Studios some time and then have a big Fall showcase with the giant AAA single player exclusives and presumably PS5 Pro.

FF7 Rebirth launch trailer! Their lineup post FF7R is pretty much blank, expecting a very slow year because of the live service mess cleanup happening but still hoping they can sneak some unexpected remakes, remasters or something like that.

She's great, perfect high level HBO casting, so very curious to see how they handle the TLOU2 story bits. Still feels like there's gonna be a different take or shuffling of timelines because you really need certain actors to stick around to maintain viewership

We're all so shocked. 8 YEARS of development is the best part. They could've cooked up 2 DC single player games in that time and instead this will flop and put them at risk of getting shut down.

The right choice was made. ND was making Factions 2, Jim Ryan & Bungie thought they were getting a Fortnite skin selling, FOMO & engagement baiting pyramid scheme. It's better this way sadly.
The new people in charge at PlayStation should do exactly what the old people did: let Naughty Dog cook up TLOUIII or whatever they're making and stay out of the way.

@Darylb88 PC player base is the most unreliable group of consumers in all of media. Microsoft cut Disney a nice check to offset and will put all of their marketing power behind it. They just need to make sure the game is good and sales will be fine

It's fascinating that Xbox exclusivity is such a hotly debated topic on here, just shows that Phil Spencer and his cronies have run their mouths against them one too many times, and now will have to put 2x the work to justify the 180.
I have zero issue with exclusives, they're the biggest and best games we get, just hope "Team Green" will finally shut up about them and stop being hypocrites.

E3 was a you just had to be there type thing, getting ready for "Christmas for gamers" week, watching all the press conferences, the megatons, seeing the companies battle it out & react in real time to what each other did, all the live coverage from classic G4, Spike TV, etc. So fun!

It was hilarious AND truthful, the fact that they responded to it shows how much of a sore subject it is for them, and they pulled out numbers? Only Kratos can cause that softness with one joke.

I'll still say buying Bungie was a reactionary error, but I'll give Jim Ryan credit for this one, I thought they completely shilled out and Bungie's incompetent, complacent and downright unappreciative leadership had them dead to rights. Sad its come to this already, but good to see this was built in.

That press release gave me more confidence. I know they can't wait to sell Shark Cards but they also know that none of that happens without a historically legendary single player story mode. All that combined with only having to worry about PS5 & Series, Rockstar WILL deliver!

Looks great, 2025 is a bit of a shock, really thought they'd be set for late 2024. Only thing that hurts my hype is they always release these giant games by the holiday season so we're basically still 2 years out!

GTA 6 hype train begins and Epic magically comes up with huge updates, new games, detailed communication, plus making sure this LEGO stuff is free. Competition is GOOD!
We're about to enter a whole new era of multiplayer where everyone will be battling to keep their player bases happy with the GTA monster incoming!

Series X is getting heavily pushed with discounts, they just need to get their games right, man. Almost every big release since Xbox One has been a disaster in some way. Take all those unlimited resources and find a way to make some bangers. How they've let Halo & Gears decline so far is just mindboggling. They need to find some of that 360 magic or they will never compete again.

I'm down for all of the RE Remakes. Probably going against the grain especially with the people on here, but I must admit, Resident Evil 5 is one of my favorite games of all time! Looking forward to ensuring Complete. Global. Saturation!

Everyone can find the data, Xbox hasn't been close to Nintendo or Sony in a long, long time, but them getting wiped from the "big three" would not be good and with the way everyone besides Used Car Salesman Phil Spencer talks, it sounds like they're headed that way.

Exclusive games are king. Microsoft has done everything they could to make them irrelevant and it has completely failed besides their most devoted worshippers on "Twitter" while Sony & Nintendo mop up the trillion dollar corporation off the backs of incredible exclusives.
They haven't delivered a legitimate, complete, well done, AAA banger since 2011's Gears of War 3. Their games are mediocre. They have unlimited funds, fantastic marketing, but their games are just not that good. It's that simple!
They still will not commit to the bit of making massive games that overdeliver, everything is a broken live service or small scale game. They need to put their $$$ where their mouth is or they will never compete again.

I'm in as long as the price is reasonable. It is simply one of the best games I've ever played.

Tears of the Kingdom. It was just too dang good. That's a top 10 all time game for me.

Might be a fun squad game to grab at 80% off after it inevitably flops but this game and their rollout scream soulless corporate shlock that gamers are finally rejecting.

Great news. I have a feeling the next gaming resurgence now that single player games have recemented themselves as the king is going to be premium multiplayer with little to zero monetization.

I mean that's great, but I'm really starting to think that Sony's first party 2024 PS5 release schedule is going to be nothing besides GAAS flops & a hastily put together TLOU Part 2 "remake".

I'll be honest, I actually enjoyed sharing the plat trophies or a few screenshots during my run of whatever big story game I'm on, but yeah, I get it after Lon surged the API cost.
The platform has gone down pretty heavily, it's basically a crappy live service game with a bunch of people trying to bait engagement for ad $$$ now.

Legendary levels of failure from Jim Ryan & Sony on buying Bungie. Destiny 2 has become one of the most lazy, low/reused content, over monetized, FOMO baiting "games" ever created. The worst part is that the people who have no control of that crap take the fall when players get sick of it and finally move on.
So many players questioned how sustainable it was to constantly reuse content, go all in on microtransactions & milk a dwindling pool of whales, and we've got our answer.
This should be the final wake up call for Sony, GET OUT of this live service garbage right now while you still can! (and tea leaves suggest they are already doing it)

I'm betting this never releases. Sony severely overestimated the PlayStation community's interest in Bungie, the little honeymoon period where they could shutdown Naughty Dog games seems to be very, very over.
Sony is gonna relegate them to going all in on Destiny to ensure they actually pull a profit.

Terrible, hate to see people getting laid off, this is top level Japan/Sony finally cleaning up Jim Ryan's mess. Bungie is Ryan's magnum opus and it is a complete and utter whiff.
Have a feeling the recovery process on the damage he's done to the game pipeline is not going to be fun.

This is just sad! We need DW10! Such a great series, DW9 was a complete whiff but DW2 - DW8 was a massive hot streak, still pop on DW8 here & there, the hypothetical musou routes were just ace game design to change up the historic stuff.
If DW10 isn't on the table, would love access to the older games on current gen at least!

Well deserved! I know how intoxicating those live service numbers look to the suits, but THIS will always be PlayStation's bread & butter and there's nothing they'll ever do to change it.

One of the greatest games of all time, but wow, this got a groan from me. Not even surprised, and they're not even mentioning PC Ports anymore as that has been a complete disaster as well lol.
I'm sadly expecting a good amount of "remasters" the next few years to keep us fed while Japan cleans up Jim Ryan's live service & PC mess.

I'm a physical advocate and always will be, but I'll tell you Bravia Core is the best streaming app I've ever used. As long as you let it hit your internet hard, it's the closest streaming will ever come to blu ray quality.
Streamed some of the Resident Evil movies in the 4K IMAX Enhanced dts format and it's very impressive!

Absolutely ridiculous decisions all around, the Fortnite explosion broke these studios and we're all seeing it play out years later.
Can't even get access to older Sonic games aka their bread & butter on current gen consoles but they'll go all in on an unknown IP for a heavily cornered/declining market.

Let Naughty Dog cook up big single player exclusives like they want to and always have.
With that being said, it is disgusting that Bungie basically got this game destroyed because it wasn't an engagement farming cosmetic shop. I absolutely hate the corporate stink that Bungie has brought to PS Studios and Jim Ryan welcomed them with open arms.

They jumped on the service train 5 years too late, the market is cornered & even titans like Fortnite are on the decline. It's all fool's gold that was inflated by unsustainable pandemic numbers.

Billionaire CEO Tim Sweeney goes on an extremely expensive crusade against Apple that he had no chance of winning and they got slapped with a cool $245 Million fine from the FTC.
The response? Raise v-buck (Fortnite $$$) prices and layoff 900 people while admitting the bubble is bursting on live services. Good people taking the fall for the clowns that run these companies.

Shrewd business man no doubt, but the walls were starting to cave in on his "savviness". Most of, if not all of the big exclusives that we love were green lit under Shawn Layden, he was there to simply carry the baton to the finish line on masterpieces.
Jimbo's hands were all over the dramatic price increases, failed PC port mission, heavy focus on "Live Service" 5 years too late, and the worst, most egregious thing he did: heavily cut down the amount of exclusives released per year.
All of the bad stuff they were doing was always met with "don't worry the console game pipeline won't be impacted", and of course, after a strong PS5 launch, it was impacted and cut to down to ONE PS5 exclusive per year. Never disrespect your console base and I believe Jim Ryan did that.

Its about time. I'm so sick of how Sony has been operating the past few years.
Now Uncle Jimbo has plenty of time to play live services and PC ports, and its hilarious that he bailed before him and Hulst's little GAAS ambition flops and sets them back years on development.
Maybe the next person in charge will actually deliver more than one PS5 game per year and show just a tiny bit of respect to us console peasants that have kept them in business for 30 years.

In all seriousness, the game industry probably gets away with way more than the studios were getting away with in Hollywood. All of these strikes have been long overdue, I hope everyone gets what they want and of course, once everyone gets what they want, the studios, publishers, etc will still be making BILLIONS.
Everyone can win here, sadly one side has to fight for it like the game is on Give Me God of War difficulty.
