@sanderson72 What has "Team Green" done with their console to justify the price, compared with the PS5? Their next gen library is laughable, even hardcore xbox fans are bemoaning the lack of games.
Really wishing I didn't bother buying another 12 months of this. It's just been garbage month after month. I'm not expecting AAA games every month, but it's the quality of titles has gone down so much this year compared to previous. I think i'm going to have to just play through some old Plus games I never started and then see what Spartacus brings.
Quick Resume - even just 3 games would be great. A cleaner UI - All feels a bit cluttered with cards and info popping up all over the place. Ability to Move games in the background and not having to sit and watch it slowly do its work.
Folders - Meh, I hardly use folders on my phone and that's got tons of apps. VRR - Would be nice, although not something I really notice Themes - Meh
@SurvivorGirl1 Almost every PS4 game is playable on the PS5 without paying anything on top of that.
Uncharted 4 is definitely one of those games, so i'm not really sure what the issue is?
The "upgrade path" has nothing to do wth backward compatibility. You are paying for a "different" version of the same game, one that they've done additional work on to optimise it/enhance it for the PS5. It doesn't mean you can't just throw your PS4 version into the PS5 and play it for free. You are paying the extra £10 for the extra work put into the PS5 version.
TL:DR - PS4 games will play on PS5 for free. If you want to play the "updated" PS5 version, that may cost more.
I used to respect Rockstar as a company. But their output, the 100% shift to online stuff over the last few years and the flogging of a dead horse, GTA5 over the last 8 years has made me lose interest in anything they do now. Mainly because it's all GTA5 online content. DO SOMETHING NEW!!!
I'd be happy to pay a base fee then £20-30 a year for updated squad lists / kits etc. These games end up costing £5-10 second hand after a few months, so it's no wonder they are going down this route.
Been looking at playing Plague Tale for a while, so this was a welcome addition. The rest I'll probably add to my library and never play though. If I get one game I'll enjoy per month then I won't complain too much.
I've been looking forward to playing Plagues Tale, so if that's one of the PS+ then i'll be delighted. Do I need to complete Uncharted 4 before playing Uncharted Lost Legacy?
It's obviously disappointing that Bethesda is now an xbox exclusive, but on the other hand they are a company that produces very little games at such a slow rate that PS players will barely even notice. I have an Xbox Series S so i'll likely snap up Starfield, but would prefer to play it on the PS5.
@Porkman85 hand up, I used to till maybe a couple of years ago. Assumed it was still playing off the disk, considering the noise the PS4 made during gameplay!
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L It's because they've described it as "highly realistic" and "photorealistic" but it doesn't look great. Could just be the quality of the youtube video, but it looks like a PS4 game.
I haven't actually played this yet, so this is great news! I probably won't feel the "upgrade" as much as those who have already played it in 30fps though.
@Marios-love-child Doubt it. They still make shed loads from the online aspect of the game! That horse is now just an empty husk, but they are still flogging it.
I remember getting Resident Evil BEFORE I even got the Playstation. I read through every inch of the covers and the inserts and was so excited to play it! It definitely lived up to it's potential as well, the graphics of that intro scene, the creepy first introduction to the zombie in the corridor (that head turn...) and then windows....those damn windows, as mentioned above!
It is still one of the only games i've played and completed in one single go. I was at a friends and we were playing it and found out that if you completed it without saving, you'd get the Rocket Launcher and infinite ammo. So I went home and blasted my way through the game in 90 minutes. What a trip that game was.
2 and 3 were good, but they never captured that same essence though. I did love the Tyrant (i think it was him?) that was in the house with you and popped up in different areas. I always wished that it wasn't procedural, fixed points he turned up and that he was actually roaming around randomly and you could bump into him ANYWHERE and at ANYTIME.
After playing Silent Hill 1 and 2, that was then the gold standard for horror games. A different experience, but it was such a crazy, mind screwing, pants wetting game that it kinda spoiled the RE series for me a bit. I wanted more of that SH experience, the brain bending weirdness.
By the time I reach the end of most games, I am desperate to try something new. This is mainly due to not having much time to game and it takes me ages to finish a game, so i'm dying to try something else. However, there's quite a few games i'd happily play several times. FF7, FF9, Dying Light, The Elder Scrolls games, Detroit Become Human, to name a few. Most of these are because they have great storylines and are great games, games like D:BH have multiple choices and will chance the game significantly based on decisions, so i'm not playing the same game twice.
I would very unlikely play a platformer again once i've completed it. Unless it is to 100% it.
I am likely goiong to replay Fallout 4 or Skyrim soon as well, if they eventually get 60FPS on PS5. I would play them on the xbox but I already own both on PS and looking to get rid of gamepass (for the reason mentioned in the first sentence, I don't have time to play often, so we're talking 1 game in a month maybe longer, so game pass is a bit of a waste of money for me)
The first was one of the best games of the last gen for me. I absolutely loved it, and only bought it as I randomly downloaded the demo on a whim. More games need demos for this reason as i'm sure many people are missing out on great games because they can't experience it to know! (it works both ways, if the game/demo is rubbish then people won't buy it)
It's difficult to miss the games I like, Fallouts and Elder Scrolls, when they only release them every 10 years! By the time they release a new Elder Scrolls the PS6 and Xbox 360 2X will be out and i'll grab it for the Seres X when it's £100.
@themightyant Same. Anytime I hear "multiplayer" i immediately think "NEXT". I just hope they don't go down the Rockstar route and release a game that's a massive online hit, then bleed it dry for 10 years, whilst hardly releasing anything else.
i'm playing through ME2 at the moment on the xbox Series S and I can't really complain about performance and graphics tbh. So far there's not been anything that makes me go "well that could definitely do with an update, bar maybe the loading screens which still take a bit of time on the Series S, but obviously faster than on PS3/360 etc.
I might still buy this though on the PS5 and go through them again
@PaperAlien Was just thinking that myself. Looks really difficult to tell if something is behind you, depth wise, or on the same plane (excuse the pun!). As it showed the UFOS flying behind the plane.
@clvr Yeah, it just felt a bit lacking. A game that they threw into that same formulaic engine that Sony have used in most of their action games, but without the fluidity of something like Uncharted. I usually agree with the award winning games, like HzD, Spiderman, LOU, Uncharted, Metal Gear etc, but I couldn't even finish GoW.
@WizzNL 100% agree. It's about the principle. Most of these games aren't suddenly worth £20 more, so why are we suddenly having to pay these hikes? I am guessing it's Sony/Microsoft's way of clawing back some of the lost revenue from that huge development cycle in creating the next gen consoles. They will likely only break even with the hardware, so cash will come in via the software.
Typical. I've just completed this on the xbox (EA) game pass. It really could do with 60FPS, but it's a fantastic game. Very frustrating at times, but recommend it to anyone whos into Souls games, or any game that requires patience and a bit of thinking against even the weakest of opponents.
New games - I'll buy physically because they are £10-£20 cheaper than digital. Plus they will sell on and make an even bigger margin compared to the digital
Older Games - I'll buy digitally.
That's my PS5 mantra.
In the past I would buy all games on disk, but can't be bothered with switching disks anymore.
I'm sure i'm not alone, it feels that way though, in thinking that God Of War just wasn't that great?! Obviously all down to opinions of course, but I just found it a bit tedious, slow and labouring. I maybe haven't given it enough chance, although I had played for 10 hours or so, but I just didn't like it that much.
Horizon Zero Dawn was very good and probably top 2 PS4 exclusives.
Uncharted 4 I haven't finished yet, but will get round to it. In my top 3, definitely.
Bloodborne was good, but i'm not really a big souls player, but i enjoyed it for the most part. The thrill of beating a boss is something most games don't get close to.
Last Of Us 2 - I'm waiting for the PS5 upgrade before playing, but I suspect this will have been very high on my top PS4 exclusive game.
The one game exclusive I've probably spent most time on would be Days Gone. It might not be the "best", or "most original" but it was a great game.
@MetalGear_Yoshi I hate the method for turning off the Playstation is now loads of clicks away and fiddly. The xbox you just hold the button and then the options pop up, although the rest of their UI is an absolute mess.
It was pretty handy in Astro where you could just load into any of the areas from the home screen, rather than having to load up the game, then load the menu, pick the location and wait for that to take me there.

@Uromastryx They're just trying to cash in on the success of GTA5s online multiplayer. That's the cash cow and it will keep being milked till it can literally no longer stand on its on 4 legs, then they'll prop it up and continue to milk it till everyone is sick of milk.
They must have known that the game was a buggy mess. There's no way that they hadn't gone through hours and hours of testing on the game and thought "Yeah, this is pretty solid. Well done guys...that's a rap". They released it, hoped that only a few would notice and a patch would have been out before any fuss was created.

meh.
The lack of 4 top buttons rather than 2 meant that Remote Play was a bit rubbish.

It was better than the PSP, but still could have been so much better.
