Re: Xbox One Developer Concedes That PS4 Is More Powerful

Hokage17

@get2sammyb That's the biggest thing that gets to me, is that they never even explained why they had those policies to begin with. All that does is build suspicion which leads to even more negative rumors and bad Press. Even if there sole intentions was greed, the fact they never addressed the issue and instead just reversed everything even though they told their fans the policies couldn't be reversed because it was embedded in the system, was basically telling a lie. I refuse to support a company that lies to their customers and the same goes for Sony if they were to pull a Microsoft.

Re: Xbox One Developer Concedes That PS4 Is More Powerful

Hokage17

It just seems to me that Microsoft has no direction in where they want to go with Xbox One. How can I as a consumer have any faith in their console when Microsoft themselves don't? At this point there console should be a finished product but now they're changing policies, doing 180's, and even rumored to be trying to boost specs all just to match up with PS4. That doesn't sound like a company that has confidence in there console. Even from a design standpoint the Xbox One looks unattractive and uninspired. It honestly could pass as a VCR or a projector if you didn't see a game controller next to it. Then they stick the Kinect to it which most gamers have no interest in using. I don't really think bundling the Kinect with it is such a bad thing, but to make it mandatory at the expense of raising your console price tag just doesn't make sense. Especially when your closest competitor has a more powerful console, favored by developers, and cost $100 less. It actually made some sense before they reversed their policies, but since the 180 it kind of defeats the purpose.

Re: Talking Point: Sony's Slow and Steady PS4 Reveal Strategy Will Pay Off

Hokage17

It's starting to feel like this generation is going to be a bit like the PS2 generation. It's a little ironic that Microsoft named their next gen console Xbox One and so far the way things are shaping out it may very well sell on par with the original Xbox 1. While the original Xbox did have it's share of success the PS2 outsold it by almost 10 times. I don't think the gap is going to be that wide this time and it's still too early for an assesment like that but that's the way things are starting to look. Sony is just one God of War or Uncharted away from completely dominating the market.

Re: Nolan North Doesn't Know Anything About Uncharted 4

Hokage17

@Sanquine That's the beauty of when a developer has a good track record. You can always count on them to make great game experiences even if it's something new. As much as everyone would love another Uncharted, given their track record i don't think anyone would complain if they made something completely new.

Re: Nolan North Doesn't Know Anything About Uncharted 4

Hokage17

I don't know, Naughty Dog has always been a company that releases a new franchise on every Gen. For PS1 it was crash, for PS2 it was Jak and Daxter, for PS3 it was Uncharted and finally The Last Of Us. Now with PS4 your saying they go back to Uncharted? I'm not saying it's not possible because it is, but it just goes against the formula they've been using.

Re: PS4 Nominated Best of Show in E3 2013 Game Critics Awards

Hokage17

That's what i'm afraid of. I feel like Sony would have a lot more success with their consoles if they weren't using up resources to make their handhelds successful. Not saying the Vita is bad or doesn't have potential, it's just not as important. Handheld gaming is a dying market. Sony themselves said the Vita has a great fan base but it's just not big enough and it's hard to see it growing much even with the announcement of some killer games and even a price drop. All I'm saying is if they hadn't wasted resources on the PSP and now the Vita, the PS3 would have had more attention and been even better overall. I hate to say this but the Vita is Sony's biggest weakness in the next gen.

Re: EDGE Magazine Backs PS4 in Next Generation Special

Hokage17

"They CAN NOT say what they have on the cover." Well obviously they just did.

"Also, how do you know Xbox One doesn't stand a chance? Are you psychic? " Yes I am actually, what tipped you off?

Also the FiFa deal holds no weight because Europe is not too hot on the Kinect and sees it as more of a monitoring device.

Re: EDGE Magazine Backs PS4 in Next Generation Special

Hokage17

@rastamadeus There's nothing to be impartial about. if anything they would be being impartial saying xbox one actually stood a chance. But I agree there are those who will still buy an Xbox even though Microsoft tried to pull a fast one on you.

Re: EDGE Magazine Backs PS4 in Next Generation Special

Hokage17

I don't know why people are mad at Edge, Sony is kicking Microsofts butt. Xbox One has received nothing but bad press even before it was announced. The only reason they changed their policies was because Sony had their foot up their @$$, so who do you think is winning? the only reason Microsoft stopped charging devs for patches is because of Sony also. I think Sony should take this generation hands down and i just don't see why anyone would want a xbox one, but it's your money, waste it as you please.

Re: PS4's Price Was Not a Reaction to Xbox One's, States Tretton

Hokage17

At this point i don't even think that question matters anymore. One thing we know for a fact is the PS4 retails at $399. Whatever decisions had to be made in that process is between Sony. They are a business and have to exercise every option. Perhaps at one point they did think about bundling the PS Eye with the console and maybe they still will have a bundle like that for those that are interested. But to see that as a negative now is meaningless.

Re: First Impressions: Knack

Hokage17

I still don't know what to think about knack. It just looks like a weird game, and the character himself is very hard to connect with unlike Crash, Spyro, etc.

Re: Sony: Physical Games Will Be Around Longer Than People Think

Hokage17

Like others have mentioned I just like going down to gamestop, checking out all the new games, and buying it. There's something really special about the whole process almost like shopping for a new car. That's my biggest problem with digital games, they just don't feel the same. That may sound minor to some people but it is a very big deal.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Eight

Hokage17

@Madd_Hatter401 What I meant by underrated is that I feel this game doesn't get the respect it deserves in the media. Whenever they have a debate about the best games they always put BioShock somewhere on the top and FarCry 3 is never added to any list but in my opinion it's one of the best games out there and certainly better than Bioshock.

Re: Sony's Considering Multiple PS4 Hardware Packages

Hokage17

I think it would be cool if Sony had a $499 bundle with PS+ and PS Eye and maybe possibly through in Knack as a mascot role. A PS4 and Vita bundle would be cool also but because of the high price it would take I don't think it would sell too good.

Re: Talking Point: What Does Microsoft's Massive Xbox One-Eighty Mean for PS4?

Hokage17

I don't think Microsoft can come on top anymore. The price is still the biggest factor and Microsoft already lost a good portion of their fanbase to Sony already. Playstation fans are a loyal bunch and for good reason as demonstrated at E3 so don't expect Sony's fanbase to change. When you factor in the large fanbase Sony has already, plus the fans Microsoft has lost, with the $100 price differential, on top of dominating pre orders with nothing but good press, Sony is still in a very comfortable and demanding position. Besides the price I think what will ultimately defeat Microsoft is Sony's games. Everyone knows by now that Sony is a beast on the game scene and you have to suspect they are holding some secret weapons. How big would it be were they to reveal a God of War, Uncharted, Last of Us level title that clearly shows the graphical power over Xbox One at possibly the Tokyo game Show? Every move Sony has made leading up to now has been all strategy and I'm almost positive they saw this coming. After all it was Sony who put Microsoft in this position to begin with.

Re: Digital Extremes: PlayStation 4 Is a Dream to Work With, We Love It

Hokage17

@ShogunRok I feel like a lot of the time these companies try to force a lot of crap down our throats that we don't really want for their own gain. The cloud is a prime example of that because everything is digital it cost them less but as Microsoft is showing they will still charge the same as a hard copy. They try to sell water to a whale by making you believe the cloud is something you need and is more convenient and I'll admit in a lot of cases it is, but when it comes to games I feel like there's nothing better than having your own games to do as you see fit. But again they try to persuade us into thinking otherwise for their own benefit.

Re: Reaction: There Is One Thing That Sony Could Learn from Microsoft at E3 2013

Hokage17

I think Microsoft nailed it with quantity but Sony and Nintendo had better overall quality. I almost fell asleep watching Xbox One games cause with the exception of Metal gear Solid 5 and Titan fall, none of their games looked all that interesting. Sony on the other hand showed Kill Zone, Infamous, Final Fantasy 15, Kingdom Hearts, Destiny, Watch Dogs, Assassins Creed 4, Knack and a bunch of interesting looking titles. I agree they did talk a little too much but I thought Sony had the better showing overall. And at least the people they had on stage were likeable unlike microsoft's guys who looked like it was just another day in the office.

Re: E3 2013: Sony's Decided to Boost Internal Sales Estimates for PS4

Hokage17

@get2sammyb That is crazy and maybe you'll think I'm crazy for saying this but I swear it seems like Microsoft really is trying to sabotage themselves on purpose because the decisions their making makes no sense at all. Based on that diagram they've basically cut off a full half of the world to their platform. Maybe I'm missing something but It just doesn't make sense.

Re: E3 2013: Sony's Decided to Boost Internal Sales Estimates for PS4

Hokage17

@get2sammyb I think a lot of people that don't know any better are still gonna buy a Xbox One. The way I see it playing out is a lot of people will still buy an Xbox One thinking they are getting a true successor to the 360, Only to find out what they have is something totally different. On paper it looks good and sounds cool, but not everyone is into blogging so a lot of people still don't know all the changes that are taking place with the new Xbox. It's going to lead to another backlash because it's gonna piss a lot of people off when they find out that they need the internet in order to play even single player games, and the games that they paid for is not really theirs to own.

Re: E3 2013: Sony's Decided to Boost Internal Sales Estimates for PS4

Hokage17

@get2sammyb, wouldn't be surprised if Sony did that. They appear to be taking the fight directly to Microsoft, and I honestly don't think MS was prepared for that. Microsoft has basically been on the defensive even months before the Xbox One was announced. Sony has been in attack mode since February and even the early reveal in Feb was a blow to Microsoft as they clearly wasn't prepared.

Re: E3 2013: No, Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III Are Not Exclusive to PS4

Hokage17

Honestly I don't really care if a game is exclusive or not as long as i get to play it. If Xbox fans or PC gamers get to enjoy it too oh well the more the merrier. As long as it's on PS4 that's all that should matter to a PS4 gamer. Some people may care about bird rights but ask yourself does it really even matter to you if you still get to play the game?

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Do Enough to Win the Battle of the E3 2013 Press Conferences?

Hokage17

I think Sony still has alot of games left to show, but their probably holding out until Tokyo game show, the other big gaming conference. Overall i'm happy with what I saw from PS4 and even though I feel they could have done a little better it was still more than enough to crush Microsoft. While some people think they spent a little too juch time going over the other non gaming content, I'm actually glad they did. i was curious to know how they were going to respond to Microsoft and Nintendo's TV features and they did. The only problem I saw with that is the guy they had doing it tended to blabber on a bit too much.
