Mmm

The sun may be shining for what feels like the first time in months, but that shouldn’t stop you from shutting the curtains and settling down with some good old video games. We’re definitely in a bit of a summer lull right now, which means that there’s plenty of opportunity to catch up on the hits that you may have missed. The plans of the Push Square crew are included below, but don’t forget to share your itineraries in the comments section.

I spent about £20 on the Pinball Arcade recently, so I’m ploughing my way through the spoils of that steel ball binge. I’m really enjoying Bride of Pinbot, but I need to keep practicing before landing that challenging ‘Billion Point’ shot. It’s not easy.

I'll be rumbling in the jungl- er, city, in Tokyo Jungle Mobile for Push Square's review. And I'll probably be feeding that Animal Crossing: New Leaf addiction too.

I won't have much time for console gaming this weekend as I'll be hitting up the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo for some ol' timey goodness. I've got a shortlist of games to grab and at the top of the pile is bizarro PSone title Incredible Crisis. If I spend quality time with the couch it'll be on The Last of Us. I'm only an hour in but it's pretty neat so far.

Right now I'm playing MotoGP 13 on the PlayStation Vita and replaying Grand Theft Auto IV on the PlayStation 3. Even now the Four Leaf Clover heist is immense. Michael Mann would be proud.

Ben Potter, Staff Writer

Is it really any surprise? I'll be slowly creeping my way through the remainder of The Last of Us' single player, while desperately trying to fight off the advancing forces of night-terrors and a nasty bout of can't-turn-the-lights-off-in-the-dark. On the other hand, the multiplayer is really good. Seriously, you'll kick yourself if you ignore it.

Ben Tarrant, Staff Writer

I recently finished The Last of Us, so I've decided to set to work on survivor mode to try and grab that elusive Platinum Trophy. I've also got Resistance: Fall of Man lined up for when I can't handle getting my face incessantly torn off by clickers.

I’m playing the twin-stick shooter Total Recoil on the Vita and whizzing my way around the PlayStation Network version of the original WipEout. I already own a boxed copy of PSone WipEout, but I downloaded the special offer digital version as a spare, and for the multiformat convenience of having it on my PS3, PSP, and Vita. Total Recoil surprised me for being a time sink; I have even amassed 10,000 total kills to earn an Annihilator trophy, so I am determined to beat that game. This weekend is a £1.99 bargain game fest.

Robert Ramsey, Staff Writer

This weekend I'll be committing genocide in Dynasty Warriors 8 in order to bring you our definitive review. By the time I'm done, I'd wager my thumbs will have mutated and evolved beyond your meagre human digits.

Simon Thornton, Staff Writer

Having completed the masterpiece that is The Last of Us, I've been looking for another post-apocalyptic zombie ridden title to sink my teeth into. For now, The Walking Dead: 400 Days DLC is filling that role nicely. It's a little shorter than expected, but a nice return to the series regardless, and functions as a great prologue for the next season.

That’s us done yacking, but now we want to know what’s keeping you out of the sun. Post your gaming schedules in the comments section below.
