@PaperAlien We grew up with PAL versions because a lot of TVs had 50hz refresh rates.
The issue now is that pretty much all TVs run at 60hz (or 120hz) so there are frame pacing issues (the display image only refreshes 50 times on a 60hz screen). Some people are not sensitive to this, but others are.
In this day and age the NTSC versions are vastly superior because they run at the same refresh rate as modern TVs.
@Eldritch Even if you aren't impressed with the end product, the skill and ingenuity on display to make something so small and have it not burst into flame instantly is impressive. The guy is a very skilled craftsman.
@ShogunRok Imagine trying to mass produce this....
That was a fantastic video. Really impressive stuff. The console looks gorgeous as well. Cheating slightly with the lower temps due to having the power supply outside of the system. But still, brilliant work.
@SuperPotato316 People are hoping the switch announcement is being saved for a Nintendo Direct. It's the type of daft thing I could totally see Nintendo doing... I hope it's true though. I mean, I'll play P4 on Playstation if needs be but it's really handy to have 100 hour RPGs in handheld form for me.
Why do people put so much stock in where they play their video games? So much so they feel it is appropriate to attack an individual doing a job. It's beyond pathetic. Clearly Phil Spencer lives in some of your heads rent-free.
@NEStalgia Haha, no. Outside of London our transit system is absolutely terrible. In most areas of the country we have no choice but to travel by car. The cost of living here is getting ridiculous. £70 games are/ are becoming a luxury most cannot afford.
Just a heads up in case anyone is in the same boat as me. I redeemed my code and immediately got booted out of PSN. Kept trying again with no luck until I looked in my library and the Destiny Beta was sitting there. I loaded that up and after a few tries managed to get it downloaded.
@Itachi part of the reason they do that is to fill a 90 minute slot. Just make it a shorter pre recorded show and save the numbers for another time (or after it has finished).
Hell yes! I've been saying for years that the live press conferences are archaic and a waste of time. They are cringeworthy and just awkward at times. I was very impressed with Nintendos showing this year and would love to see 'the big two' follow suit.
One thing that bothers me in these conferences is the insistence on showing the first 5 minutes of a game. It totally ruins it for when you get round to playing it yourself surely? I'm all for gameplay trailers - just mix them up and don't give too much away.
When it comes to exclusives (timed or not) the only people who lose out are gamers. It's so annoying when something is announced as an exclusive at the press conferences and a bunch of middle-aged 'un-biased' (note the quotation marks) journalists whoop like a bunch of monkeys.
I still need to play through MGS4. I've tried several times but just not managed to get further than halfway. Once I do that, i'll be very excited for MGSV.

Just beat Thunder Serpent Narwa in Monster Hunter Rise after moving to PC, so onwards to Sunbreak!
Also playing Ghost of Tsushima on PS5 and the ever present Stardew Valley on Switch.
Re: Poll: Was Sony's State of Play the Best Gaming Showcase of June?
Eh, it was fine. Good even. I thought Microsoft edged it though.

Re: Tactics Ogre: Reborn Appears on PS Store
@Nem Vandal Hearts > Final Fantasy Tactics. Fight me.

Re: EA Sports FC Could Be the New Name for FIFA Games
I think 'Something resembling a mediocre football game designed to exploit and extort money from minors' is much catchier.
Re: Persona 5 Celebrates Fifth Anniversary with Striking Blood Red Artwork
Huh, good timing. I started playing Royal about two hours ago. The length is daunting but I have heard good things.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 392
@TraCuz- That sucks. What did you discard? I accidently binned my Emerald Weapon lance when that was relevant content. Wasn't a nice feeling...
