@LiamCroft Pre-ordering for early access to a beta is a new one on me. Every time I think the have pumped the well of new ways to monetize something else comes along.

Monster Hunter Rise for 8 quid is sn amazing deal. Been waiting for Rebirth to have a sale but think I'll wait for it to hit the magic £35 mark, like I did with XVI.

Great game. I made it to the final boss last night after 75 hours. Never played the original back in the day so it was a fresh experience for me. If you're a fan of 4 and 5 then this is definitely worth your time.

Think I'm going to pick up Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth. £40 for a game of that size/ quality is a great deal so close after launch.

Those are some insane sales figures for World and Rise. Well deserved. Probably my second favourite franchise at this point.

People scoffed at Xbox's Smart Delivery being touted as a feature but it is sorely needed on PlayStation. This kind of thing happens too often.

@Illyrian a pump and dump scheme. Buy up a load of IPs and sell them to the Saudis at a bumper price. The problem is the Saudis pulled out of the deal.

Embracer (and subsidiaries) will cease to exist by this time next year and good riddance. We need more regulation to ensure this kind of crap can't be pulled again.

@naruball Clearly these games are doing well enough, otherwise they couldn't/ wouldn't be made. I assume both Ori games were decently profitable.

Not every game needs to make trillions of dollars to be a success.

Glad to hear they sorted out the ridiculous difficulty spikes from the first game. It made me think about quitting a few times.

Just finished The Great Ace Attourney games on my Switch and they were incredible. Glad to hear the series is continuing.

@Marquez How is the streaming quality? I'm interested in this as my living room TV is out of commission often, but every streaming experience I have had has been rough. I meet the recommended internet speed but it regularly chunks up and significantly drops resolution.

I wish there was a way to try it before purchase.

Article about Lies of P doing well. Half the comments are about Starfield. That game seems to be living rent free inside some of your heads.

I've just done the second boss on Lie of P. I'm very impressed with it so far. As someone who thought the open world aspect of Elden Ring was a step-back from the more linear levels of the Dark Souls games, I'm really enjoying it.

Clearly Embracer's strategy of hoarding IP and then becoming acquired isn't working. I wonder how much money has been lost.

@Vivisapprentice The timing for the bounce isn't as it hits Valere, it's slightly before. Hit the button when the projectile is 3 thirds of the way to her and speed up as it goes on.

I'm about 10 hours in and absolutely loving the game. It's how I remember old school JRPGs but without all the grinding and tedium. Top stuff.

This looks fantastic. The visual style is very reminiscent of Breath of Fire 4.

The first one is one of my favourite metroidvanias. Love the setting and the art style. Will pick this one up soon, glad to hear it has turned out well.

I agree it's an interesting wrinkle but bought exclusivity can do one. Rubbish for the customer.

@themightyant It's because Konami = bad. Which, to be fair, is a fairly decent take on them over the past decade or so. If it was a series made by Capcom then people wouldn't have the same concerns due to a single person leaving.

I hope this is good/ does well. Konami are sitting on a treasure trove of IP.
