@themightyant I haven't thought about Edge in years. Thanks for this, I've just checked there website and there is an offer for the first 3 issues at £1. Snapped that up.
@graymamba You can't win. I work with a guy on the right-wing grift train and he has been proved wrong on so many occasions that his current defense is 'if I dont see it with my own eyes then I don't believe it'.
I feel sorry for the strain these poor people must have on their backs considering how many goal posts they move on a daily basis.
Good on Ubisoft for getting this win. The game looks great and if I didn't have so much in my backlog I'd pick it up. I'm sure I will at some point.
@Lowdefal Perhaps I should have specified further. I meant a crash in AAA gaming. Although a retraction may be more accurate. Either way the suits making the decisions need to wake up.
The industry is straight up broken when a game can sell 4-5 million copies and be perceived as a flop. There is a huge amount of developers/ publishers that would love these numbers. Stop inflating budgets/ expectations or we are headed for a crash. It's unsustainable.
@Overmind Ah nice, good to hear. The only trophies i didn't get for World/ Rise were the crowns. Too much of a grind. Looks like I'll get the plat for this one.
@ErrantRob I know what you mean. I tried to watch WWE when they signed with Netflix and it was just over-produced, over-commercialised rubbish. Maybe it's a nostalgia goggles thing but it seems like a different product entirely these days.
That's awesome. Great to see both Suikoden and Two Point Museum on there also. In the words of the immortal Vincent Caravella: 'There has never been a better time to play video games'.
@nessisonett I'm not sure if you are suggesting that is a negative thing but I'm really glad sites like this still exist. I have zero interest in using Twitter or any other social media site.
I'm struggling a bit with it. The story is so uninteresting. It's just making me want to play through World/ Iceborne again. Bare bones story at 60 fps.
@AK4tywill Sound advice. Choice paralysis is a real thing that I have been known to struggle with. You've convinced me to hold off and focus on what I'm currently playing.
I'm really debating Robo Cop at that price despite not being a fan of the IP (never seen it). I have a huge backlog already though so I really shouldn't...
@DennisReynolds Yep it's broken. My first question was can I still play my playstation? They called me sad and then did me a customised cast so I can still hold a controller. God bless the NHS.
@ButterySmooth30FPS You should start with World. It's dirt cheap these days and has a smooth on boarding process for new players (mostly smooth anyway). It's also a brilliant game in its own right.
@Darude84 I see that sentiment a lot. People need to get over the fact that generations are no longer as strict as they used to be. Incremental upgrades are the natural progression of things. When the PS6 comes out most of those games will be playable on PS5.
@Boxmonkey It's fair enought if those IPs do not interest you but they are huge system selling games.
Off the top of my head, some big games this generation:
God of War Ragnarok
Spiderman Man 2
Horizon Forbidden West
Balders Gate 3
Elden Ring
Returnal
Astro Bot
Gran Turismo 7
Kingdom Come Deliverence
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
Metaphor Refantazio
Demons Souls
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Stellar Blade
Final Fantasy XVI
Jedi Survivor
Silent Hill 2
Dragons Dogma 2
If none of those appeal to you then, again, that's fine. However saying there are no interesting AAA games this gen is misguided at best and disingenuous at worst.
I know most of these are available on PS4 also but that's the way things are going. Generations aren't defined as tightly as they used to be. These are all current generation games.
@Northern_munkey I didn't see your original comment but good for you.
On topic - It's very clear there was scumbag behaviour going on here. No one in a position of power should be texting those kind of things to their subordinates.
@JB_Whiting I buy digital due to the convenience but very, very rarely at launch. My backlog is so big that I just wait for a decent sale. By that point the game is all patched up and ready to go.
Game of the generation so far for me. Absolutely loved it from start to finish. It was the perfect length and every level was such a joy to play. It struck those nostalgia feels in exactly rhe right place. Well deserved.

Re: Analyst Firm Predicts Some Pretty Unimpressive Sales Numbers for Xbox Ports on PS5
Pentiment is a top 10 of all time for me. It's very story heavy and gameplay light, but such a fantastic experience.
Re: Rumour: New Trails Game Announcement Incoming as English 'Trails Beyond the Horizon' Name Is Leaked
I just imagine one guy chained to his desk forced to crank these games out yearly. The productivity is insane.

Re: Monster Hunter Wilds' Huge Title Update 1 Detailed, Here's Everything You Need to Know
Sounds great. I'm still fighting my way through high rank so this will likely be out before I finish it.
Great choice on Ray Dau as the arch-tempered. Probably my favourite new monster.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Seemingly Claims Second Biggest Launch in Series History
@AhmadSumadi I've had that guy blocked for months. It's amusing that I can tell what their comments say based on the replies.

Re: Hotly Anticipated RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Ready for PS5 Launch
@kcarnes9051 I seem to recall the developers stating that the camera movements in menus can be turned off if they are too much for you.

@Overmind I care. Congrats dude. How many hours of gameplay did it take to get it?

Re: Mini Review: Age of Mythology: Retold (PS5) - Series' Best Stands the Test of Time
@species Surprisingly well. I'm not sure anything beats keyboard and mouse for these games but the way they have adapted it is very impressive.
Re: Mini Review: Age of Mythology: Retold (PS5) - Series' Best Stands the Test of Time
So glad this turned out well. Going to be my next purchase.
Re: WWE 2K25 (PS5) - Unbeatable Value from 2K’s Dominant Wrestling Series
@AdamNovice I've heard that which is why I gave it a shot but I feel it just isn't for me. Good luck to anyone who enjoys it though.

Re: Mini Review: Wanderstop (PS5) - A Meditative Musing on Mental Health
This isn't usually my type of game, but since it is developed by the same guy as Stanley Parable I may have to give it a go.

@djlard So no you don't.
Re: 3 New PS Plus Essential Games Live Now, Including PS5 RPG Dragon Age
@djlard Do you have any evidence of the claim that reviewers are paid in exchange for good review scores?
Re: 3 New PS Plus Essential Games Live Now, Including PS5 RPG Dragon Age
@species I liked Inquisition. You know what they say: opinions are like a*seholes.
Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Patch Fixes Game-Breaking Bug, No Word on Performance Improvements Yet
@B0udoir Awesome thanks for the tip. Ill give it a go next time I play.
Re: Monster Hunter Wilds Patch Fixes Game-Breaking Bug, No Word on Performance Improvements Yet
@B0udoir You're onto something with the HDR tweaking. I've just lowered shadow and detail brightness and it looks much better.
Re: Monster Hunter Wilds a Best-Seller in the UK as Series Continues Upwards Trajectory
I'm struggling a bit with it. The story is so uninteresting. It's just making me want to play through World/ Iceborne again. Bare bones story at 60 fps.

@Mikey856 Apparently you can see if the monster is a crown when starting the hunt now. Should make those trophies much simpler to obtain.

Re: Sony's Pricey PS5 Pro Is Now Being Outpaced by PS4 Pro Launch Aligned in the US
Sales for this thing were always going to drop after the launch period. Entusiasts have already bought in.
It's simply way too much money when sitting on the shelf next to the base PS5 at nearly half the price.
Re: Age of Mythology: Retold PS5 Pre-Orders Live, Premium Edition Gets Early Access
@Mikey856 Just wait until we start seeing Halo and Gears of War on there. Crazy times.

I don't know about anyone else but it hasn't been working in a while for me. I've been trying to log into Concord since October to no avail.

If they can manage close to 4k at 40fps I will be very happy.
Re: It Looks Like The Sims 1 and 2 Are Returning, But Will These Classics Come to PS5?
I checked out of the Sims as it got more complex. I'd love a remaster of the first 2 on PS5 provided it was the full experience.
Re: The Legend of Dragoon Just Got an Unexpected Patch on PS5
@Orpheus79V They were just talking about politics/ culture war BS. Impossible to get away from it these days.
I've never played this game despite always hearing gushing praise. I keep holding off thinking there will be a remake at some point.
Re: Hollow Knight: Silksong Still a 'Real' Game and 'Will Release'
I played this game at EGX 2020. Crazy it isn't out yet.
Re: Two Weekends of Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Action Set for February
@B0udoir Seems to me like a stress test for the servers and to check if crossplay is working as intended.
