Cronos: The New Dawn PS5

Following a tease back in April, the new content Cronos content Bloober Team has in store appears to be called Cronos: Lazarus. The title has appeared in an IGN article sharing games that'll be part of the outlet's live shows around Summer Game Fest, and developer Bloober Team hasn't made any public mention of the name.

It's not clear whether this is a brand new game or DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn, but the IGN Live event takes place on 6th and 7th June this week, so we'll know by the end of Sunday. It's likely that Cronos: Lazarus will be revealed in one of the State of Play, Summer Game Fest, or Xbox Games Showcase livestreams, and then IGN will have more information to share.

Back when fresh Cronos content was hinted at, the studio dropped a few social media posts touching on how "the loop persists" and that "the mystery remains unsolved". The main character, Traveler ND-3576, also appeared in Fortnite, but that surprise wasn't tied to the teases in question.

Whatever Cronos: Lazarus turns out to be, it sounds like we'll know more come the end of the week.

If you never got round to playing Cronos: The New Dawn, I'd strongly recommend going back to play what turned out to be one of the best survival horror experiences on PS5. With this and Silent Hill 2, Bloober Team seriously levelled up its game. It now has this and a Silent Hill 1 remake in the works, making the team busier than ever.

I'll be playing this, even if it's just an expansion — I hope for a brand new game, though.

In our Cronos: The New Dawn PS5 review, we awarded the horror game an 8/10 and said: "With impeccable visuals, an entrancing score, and a captivatingly dark time-travelling mystery, Cronos: The New Dawn is a delectable piece of sci-fi horror."
