My wife and I are passing and playing Ball x Pit together, each earning half the gears required on each stage. We just made it to the final stage yesterday, so we'll be trying to finish it up this weekend, along with Borderlands 4, which we only have a couple of main missions left. I'll also play a bit more Doom: The Dark Ages when I can find some solo time to game.
This makes me glad that I got my PS5 on Black Friday last year. I suspect this will be the last modern console I ever buy, which I've come to accept since my library will easily last me a lifetime. It still makes me sad to see the future of gaming this bleak though.
Borderlands 4 in co-op with my wife, and Doom: The Dark Ages. I'm finally getting into Borderlands 4 more after my wife and I found a ton of these treasure chest enemies that each dropped loads of legendary weapons when they died. We went from having one legendary weapon each to a full inventory. It's been a lot more fun ever since.
I'm pretty close to the end of the Burning Shores DLC in Horizon Forbidden West, so that will get most of my attention this weekend. Also, possibly a bit of Borderlands 4 in co-op with my wife, and I may start up Doom: The Dark Ages, if I have time.
Its been a struggle for my wife and I to finish the base game, and that's even with us ignoring the side quests. For Borderlands 1 and 2, we did everything. For 3, The Pre-Sequel and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, we still did a good dose of the side content. But 4?...UGH. Its not a terrible game by any means, but I won't be picking up the DLC in the future, let alone a Borderlands 5.
After almost 80 hours, I finished Horizon Forbidden West last weekend. I absolutely loved my time with it, and I'm looking forward to playing The Burning Shores soon.
But I need to play something else as a refresher. I picked up the physical version of Lil Gator Game this week, and I've started the Into the Dark DLC. It's just as charming as the original game, and Im looking forward to getting lost in the depths this weekend. My wife and I also played some more Borderlands 4, and I picked up Dispatch yesterday, so I'm going to be firing that up real soon as well.
While everyone is out there getting their copies of Resident Evil 9, I just got my physical copy of Lil Gator Game: Gator of the Year Edition (with the new In The Dark DLC included). Someone is certainly going to be having a more feirce time.
I do want to play it right away, but I'm trying to wrap up Horizon Forbidden West. I'll also have the Burning Shores DLC to do after, but I might take a break to play Gator Game in between, after I finish up the main game. I've also got Doom The Dark Ages waiting for me soon. That'll be polarizing. Doom and Gator Game.
More Horizon Forbidden West for me. I've explored pretty much all of the map and have made it to LVL 45, and I haven't even started looking for Poseidon, Aether, etc. Although I just got the diving mask before Poseidon, but now it makes me want to explore any underwater caverns I've passed by previously.
I've been slowly chipping away at Borderlands 4 with my wife since I got my PS5 a few months ago. We played some more last night, and I've come to the conclusion that its my least favorite Borderlands game. It's not bad, but I dont care for the story at all (I barely know whats happening), the map is too big and empty, the soundtrack sucks, and the UI is absolutely terrible (especially in split screen). It's only saving grace is that the gameplay is still generally fun. Shooting and combat feels good and I like the grapple and jet boots addition. But we only get the drive to play it once every few weekends if my daughter stays at her grandparents house for the night or goes to a friend's house for a sleepover. I think its because the game feels too big and daunting, and that we keep forgetting what we're doing. We've been just sticking to main missions for the last few play sessions. We want to wrap it up soon so we can play Absolum and Scott Pilgrim EX when it comes out.
Other than that, I'm hooked on Horizon Forbidden West. I'm enjoying exploring this big environment much more than Borderlands 4. I don't mind being absorbed in this world for the months to come.
More Horizon Forbidden West for me. I'll probably be playing this one for months. I absolutely love it though, so that's fine by me. The game feels a lot more challenging than Zero Dawn, so battles are feeling a lot more risky. I certainly can't rely on explosives as much as I did in the first game since the resources are a lot more scarce right now.
I started Horizon Forbidden West this morning. Just made it to the first campfire, and I'm loving it so far. I finished up the first game on New Year's Day, and I couldnt resist the urge to jump right back into this world. I'm also in the process of playing Ball x Pit, and Borderlands 4 in co op with my wife, but I think that Horizon will be my new obsession for the next month or two.
