Halo Ready for PS5 Debut, Campaign Evolved Goes Gold

No wonder the disc version requires a download of it just went gold. It’s probably another DOOM The Dark Ages game-key-disc scenario where there’s like 40MB of data on the disc.

Not an auspicious start to Halo on PS. Hope it’s good for those who will be playing it!

Part of me really wants to get this game.... but on the flip side I don't want to be stuck with just one game, decisions decisions.

@Oram77 Just buy it. It's a fantastic game. I might say it's the only Halo one really NEEDS to play (3 and Reach are nearly there, but not quite).

Also, unless they add anything to the end, it's also pretty self-contained. The war isn't over at the end of the game, but there's no immediate cliffhanger or anything. Kinda like A New Hope; the galaxy is still out there, but this specific story is over.

EDIT: Also, I'm more than willing to tell you everything that happens in lore afterwards from memory. And I can guarantee about 40% accuracy. And 80% flippantness.

Can’t wait to play this, one of my all time favourite games. I remember playing it on original Xbox launch day thinking how on earth can a controller handle a 1st person game… And the rest is history!

I'll be picking this up, I remember playing it way back when, but if I'm honest it would be nice to have some nostalgic vibes back from Xbox, and I fail to remember much of it. The feeling of it at the time I remember above all else.

Also, if an audiobook of the follow-ups could be done @RoomWithaMoose, that would be much appreciated. I would GoFund that. Any artistic dream like impressions in sketch form created whilst narrating could be sold as say an extra "Perk".

Seasoned veteran; have played this many times on my old Xbox 360 (RIP); haven't played it in at least twelve years since I made the jump back to PlayStation. Can't wait to hit this on my PS5 on July 28!

Been a long time since I've played Halo. I think the last Halo I played on release was either 3 or ODST. But I'm looking forward to the game, and I hope anyone that never played a Halo will enjoy it.

i'm not gonna lie its gonna be so weird putting the disc in and having halo pop up on a playstation console, it already was weird for gears of war, but i never thought i'd see the day halo would be on it as well.

@AdamNovice I haven't decided to purchase it yet because like you said I don't want them to treat it like Gears. But who knows what MS will do down the road cause remember "the plan is the plan until it's not the plan"

@Northern_munkey I’m glad it was finally cleared up, I was under the impression studios just really, really liked Spandau Ballet.

They need to add multiplayer for this to properly sell well on playstation in my opinion.
Anything they sell could be doubled near enough with multiplayer included even at a later date!

I can see this selling 10M copies in its first year. Master Chief deserves to be enjoyed by all gamers and would love to see on Nintendo machines.

I don’t think you can take anything MS/xbox say at face value.

You can't play couch co-op with a guest account, so it's a hard pass for me. I had planned to play it with my dad, but he doesn't have a PlayStation account. He and I would have to create a PlayStation account for him just so he could play one game. That's idiotic.

@RoomWithaMoose Just think, you could be the Vinyl Game Narrator! I’d like a guest appearance though. You could get alcohol sponsors, gaming ones. Put almost a Nick Offerman energy into gaming!

Never played it before but got the physical pre-ordered, looking forward to it.

I have no interest in this if there are no plans to bring the rest of the series over anymore.

I'll never forget the feeling when I got to the final level with it's epic ending the first time, never played anything like it at the time!!

Never been a fan of Halo myself, as a big SciFi fan you'd think I would be but the series has never interested me. I was always a Metal Gear Solid fan which we had on PS while the Xbox had Halo.

@ChromaticDracula You know what, that’s the missing link, sound effects! To really hear Master Chiefs chafing, squeaking and his little Moon buggy thing could have a theme tune to its honk as he arrives at the big grey building thingy.

The Needler could be done with say us pretending to spit sunflower seeds rapidly!

@The_Hooligan i feel like they'll go by sale's numbers if halo sells really well on ps5 , i think they'll keep making more games if its worth it for them. which is one of the reasons why im buying a copy when i could just play on game pass , also i want to see the halo logo on playstation lol.

@AdamNovice Highly doubtful. lol. This is a 25 year old game. Do you think they are going from this to every new Halo release on PS on day one? Don't count on it. I mean, the first Gears is on PS. Notice though the new Gears coming out in October will not be on the PS. Especially now with Asha trying to change things back to how things once were.
