Re: PS5 Animal Crossing Clones Are Now Just Blatant Rip-Offs of the Nintendo Series

GoatFace04

I am curious of the quality of this I wouldn't buy it most likely due to being a rip off but maybe the writing is better or something. I wasn't too big of a fan of Animal Crossing New Horizons because outside of placing furniture everywhere it felt like it had even less content than New Leaf on 3ds and even more boring villagers that all act the same. So I am curious cause Nintendo feels to be heavily pulling punches for content, you wouldn't need much to surpass Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Re: Halo: Combat Evolved Remake Could Be the Final Frontier for Xbox on PS5

GoatFace04

A remake of Halo 1 would undoubtly sell extremely well on PS5 but I wouldn't buy it. Having the Master Chief Collection makes it feel overpriced assuming its a full price or near full price game. Also I wasn't a massive fan of Halo despite having played most in the collection. Its almost more appealing just because of the craziness of it being on Playstation.

Re: Konami Asks Which Metal Gear Solid Game You Want Remade Next

GoatFace04

Metal Gear 1 or 2 nes they may ruin it but it could be really good if managed well. I know with no Kojima many would disagree but it would be amazing if it worked. Also a Peace Walker Remake would be really cool. I would definiely be really really excited for a Metal Gear Solid Remake. The Shadow Moses section in 4 makes me wish for it because that was incredibly fun and nostalgic.

Re: Konami Wants to 'Consider Lots of Other Games' for Remake Treatment if MGS Delta Succeeds

GoatFace04

I want them to do a ground up remake of the PS1 MGS or the NES Metal Gear games. I don't know if they can pull it off but I'd like to see them try. Also I hope the MGS 3 Remake has some sort of real dlc even if its just levels and no story. Then players can't really be mad if it doesn't include Kojima's direction and fans are given more content. I think a VR mission style dlc would be perfect for this and a dream come true.

Re: Battlefield 6's Open Beta Has Completely Blown Up

GoatFace04

@MrPeanutbutterz I typically try betas unless they are really big to download, it genuinely looked pretty fun but I'm less out to buy multiplayer games because of the PS Plus requirement and I already have games I'd like to play. I still haven't tried Helldivers 2 because of that but I hope to eventually.

Re: Sony's Zelda Movie Confirms Its Link and Zelda Actors

GoatFace04

@get2sammyb I really hope, my least favorite part of those games is Link being a living brick wall with eyes. Most of Breath of the Wild's plot is told through a Zelda monologue. Then he saves her and its like
๐Ÿ‘‘
๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘„๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿงฑ(Oh Link you're the best hero of the kingdom. Thank you for rescuing me! Then he stares at her happily then credits roll.) How am I to care about the stories of these characters when the interactions of the main characters are just a monologue?

Re: Square Enix 'Aware' of Clair Obscur's Success, Ponders Turn-Based RPG Revival

GoatFace04

I think part of the length the series has ran for. People, myself included tend to stick to games where you can start at the beginning. Final Fantasy is different because the setting and characters changes almost every entry but outsiders don't know that. Are you more likely to buy Call of Duty or Call of Duty 23? Mario Kart 9 or Mario Kart World? Some series are unaffected by this because of the game type Madden and Fifa for instance. But when the game is story based and has 16 entries people subconsciously assume they are missing out on hundreds of hours of context and don't buy it. I thought Final Fantasy seemed cool but I never planned on playing them but Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS Plus got me and I loved it and now I'm in.

Re: Could Borderlands 4 Be an $80 PS5 Game? It 'Might' Be

GoatFace04

The 80 dollar push is greed brought on by the excuse of the tariffs so the companies don't seem as bad. 80 dollar games are only going to make more money in some scenarios I bet Mario Kart will make more from it, but I imagine the majority will sell less if the go to 80 dollars. They'll also have less fans for future games. I could see this price shift resulting in even more layoffs and closures than help to these companies and consumers.

Re: Surprise Ecco the Dolphin Remasters Revealed for PS5, New Game on the Way

GoatFace04

Games like Echo the Dolphin was why I really like the Genesis even over the Snes. Echo is so unique and creative and has a dark weird atmosphere that is really cool and strange in the best way. There are no games really like it. It feels a bit like how modern indie games feel compared to many samey big open world games and whatnot. The games at the time may not be better than Snes but the creativity and vibes were overflowing on the Genesis. I wish we had more of that in todays gaming space, everything feels like it can easily fit into a genre but Echo and many others are so unique it can't so easily be classified into one box.

Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Still Chasing Live Service with New Battle Royale Now in Development

GoatFace04

Honestly Hyper Scape was alot of fun but it felt waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bullet spongey especially when mixed with the fast paced parkour abilities and fast regen time. I had fun despite this but some people just have bad accuracy in fps games so when tactics can't even outplay accuracy to any degree it feels really bad to play. Call of Duty Warzone is like this for instance its bad when you unload at someone from behind and they do some slide jump bullcrap and turn around and kill you when in normal modes he would've died since you had the advantage.

Re: Poll: 5 Years Later, How Do You Feel About Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

GoatFace04

As someone who hasn't played the original yet, the grandeur of both games was off the charts. I loved Remake and Rebirth and the game I'm most excited for is the third part. The combat was amazing, the music was amazing, I really enjoyed the characters and writing. It felt like a total joy to play and replay. I really like Kingdom Hearts and it felt like a more grown up version of that. Also the progressive combat music is super good. It may not be for everyone but it was definitely for me.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 575

GoatFace04

@Zuljaras I've never played the Mega Drive version of Dracula but I have nostalgia for the Gameboy version. I never ended up getting very far because I was young and not experienced at videogames at the time I played it. Our Gameboy broke and my dad threw away our game cartridges including Dracula and a 007 game the only ones we still had was Tetris which was lost at the time. We found another Gameboy at a church rummage sale it was light green with Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and my main first exposure to Mario games. I never ended up beating Dracula but being an experienced gamer now I really want to beat it someday.

Re: The Last of Us Boss Answers Its Most Profound Question: Was Joel Right?

GoatFace04

Alright so you got Ellie the only known cure to the infection and the first thing you do isn't test her or see any potential other way to get the cure maybe from her bloodstream but its to kill her. I know its a game but that doesn't make sense. If I was Joel I'd be pissed that was their first option. If they did kill her there is a giant chance the cure very quickly dies with her with zero results and his dead adopted daughter.

Re: RPG Fans 'Very Sensitive to Feeling Like They Wasted Time,' Says Atlus Battle Designer

GoatFace04

I am appreciative what the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters did with the fast forward, Auto Battle, and added map. It makes combat substantially faster while not changing progression and wandering through dungeons with endless turn based battles is greatly diminished with the map. Its much nicer and chill experience to what something I may not have played otherwise due to tedious things.

Re: Konami Announced a New Suikoden Game, But There's a Huge Catch

GoatFace04

@themightyant I agree with pretty much all you've said but I think some regulations to some of these types of microtransactions could be beneficial. Mainly against lootboxes because its the most anti-consumer. Lootboxes are like lottery tickets with it selling only hope of a big reward with extremely slim chance of getting anything. But governments tends to not care about games enough to do anything for their benefit. It would be nice if preservation efforts of gaming was backed by government support but as it stands most preservation is illegal and considered piracy when the only legal means of getting many old games is by paying hundreds for a used copy. I also agree with your other points about it being similar to abusing drugs, media, etc but I do think some guards against predatory practices could help people who aren't aware of these things. Similar to older folks being more prone to cyberattacks and phishing because they don't see the threats like people who grew up with technology. Don't play too much Vampire Survivors and good tidings๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ‘‰

Re: Konami Announced a New Suikoden Game, But There's a Huge Catch

GoatFace04

@themightyant I do like Fortnite and Genshin for the games they are but if I was to recomend them to someone without restraint and they started spending a concerning amount of money on them it's saddening. Somebody we knew discovered had a mobile game gambling addiction and spent thousands of dollars on it. Most people can play a game free just fine without it being a problem but for some people it is really addictive with their time and money needlessly draining. This is more of a Genshin issue than Fortnite because of its random paid mechanics but its a real issue. (Side Note: There was a presentation I watched of how to best make a mobile game profitable and they went deep into the mind games of how to entice and lure people to spend large sums of money. It was twisted but pretty enlightening on the depth of the methods they use and think about. One thing they talked on was having an alternate premium game currency instead of using real currency in stores to disconnect their mind from the real cost of purchases. Gems etc.)

Re: Unofficial PC Port Sparks Fresh Demand for Sonic Unleashed on PS5

GoatFace04

This is my favorite Sonic game I played to Ps2 version and the boost system I thought was waaayyy better than Sonic Generations. The music was amazing and the night stages had great atmosphere. The day stages also had the best level design I've seen in a 3d Sonic game even over Generations. On the Ps2 this is quite possibly in my top 10

Re: Another Disney Classic Looks Locked for PS Plus Premium in the Future

GoatFace04

@Deadhunter When we initially got Toy Story 3 it was the PS2 release (which I think is the same as the PSP one) we thought it would be the same version as the PS3 release from the really cool gameplay footage we saw from a discontinued gaming news channel on cable. My brother was upset and we later got the other release and I had great fun with both games but if there was only one on Ps4/5 I think the Ps3 one would been the better choice. Toy Box mode is great fun and getting gold to expand town and get new things to mess with was really satisfying and not alot of games have this kind of gameplay loop.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 568

GoatFace04

@Zuljaras Thanks for the feedback! I believe am going to like it quite alot but I waited this long to play it because its not a nice short linear jaunt like the others and I'm waiting for me to be in just the right mood to give it a real go. I just got into Castlevania a year ago because it was a NES classic that people really love and I've been having a great time going through the entries. Castlevania's atmosphere, music, and gameplay is all great and is truly unique to most games I've played. Now I plan to play the other games and eventually get the Dominus Collection.
