Sonic X Shadow Generations Revealed, Enhanced Remaster Set for Autumn on PS5, PS4

Not one of the biggest announcements to be sure, but as someone who unironically loves the Shadow the Hedgehog game, thus has me pretty excited.

Generations was incredible, I would have liked to see a true sequel given all of the levels available in various sonic games, but adding in shadow and some of the levels he got to play in is a nice touch.

Hopefully this sells well enough to get a true sequel.

Played the original Generations recently and it hasn't aged that badly, though the choice of some of the zones in it left a little to be desired. I'm hoping the Shadow content isn't just three or four levels from the base game like the DLC for him in Sonic Forces was.

Regardless, Sonic is an annual franchise, and I suspect these remasters and remakes are going to be content that fits between the "main" releases like Forces and Frontiers, which had the Sonic Colours remaster, Sonic Origins and the budget Team Sonic Racing release between them.

They said additional content, so maybe we'll get some new levels on the Sonic side?

This is amazing can't wait. I'll admit I'm a little bit weary after seeing Colours Ultimate praying this is actually a good remaster and the additional Shadow content is hype as hell. If this does well hopefully they'll finally do Unleashed 🤞

There's gonna some traumatized children and teens looking up "Sonic X Shadow".

Oh yeah. Count me in. Can't wait! Finally Shadow gets some attention!

A Shadow expansion makes this a day 1 buy.

Generations was actually a pretty good Sonic game. The remaster seems pretty interesting with Shadow in.

I wonder if there will be an upgrade path for Generations owners, particularly on PC.

Honestly, the leaks kinda felt like it ruined the surprise if I just watched this blind, but the new Shadow gameplay honestly won me over. It looks honestly fantastic. It looks like its taking the core of what makes Generations special, amazing fan service and level design, and mixing it with a more core level design of the pre-boost games and going so hard on the graphical style and animation that made some of Sonic Team's best moments their best for a reason. Can't wait to see more of this later this year

Moving on, I’m really hoping this has enough new content outside of all the Shadow stuff to actually excuse a full price. Like more stages & bosses (including the ones from the 3DS version), and overall more unlockables.

It’s still one of my favourite games, a lot people seem to complain about it though

I’ll certainly be getting this Sonic Generations is still one of my favourite games.
I bought the collectors edition for it when it first came out.
Will be a day one for me for sure.
They could have picked a better name for it though
