@Propaperpusher maybe you are not that sensitive to framerate drops and ok to play under 60fps / inconsistent framerate. There are plenty evidences of performance issues in the internet..
@DarianStarfrog For me personally the demo was quite comprehensive and long enough to get a solid feel for the game. Unfortunately, it came across as pretty generic and bland overall. The combat is definitely the standout element, but even there, it lacks some real sense of weight or feedback.
If you've been enjoying it, nice — hope you have fun with it! I will perhaps check the PC version and see more of it..
Played the demo, and honestly, it just confirmed what I was already starting to feel from the trailers and previous footage — my low expectations and initial interest.
The characters and story feel bland and completely forgettable. There's nothing here that stands out no real weight or personality behind them. Speaking of weight — the combat hits have no impact whatsoever. It’s all flashy effects with almost zero feedback. The art style and overall tone don’t do much to help either.
Performance-wise, the demo doesn't help its case. There's no option to disable motion blur, which is overly aggressive, and there are noticeable micro-stutters during traversal. For a game that puts such emphasis on flashy action, the technical roughness really drags it down.
At the end of the day, this game just feels uninspired and mediocre at best. Nothing about it really grabs me — it’s all surface-level style with little to back it up.
I've been doing extensive testing on PC, trying different tools and tweaks, and I can honestly say the performance of this game is an absolute abomination. It's not just unoptimized — it’s a lazy, insulting joke of a release. The performance is atrocious, and it’s painfully obvious how little care or effort was put into this.
We’re in 2025, and they’re still shipping with outdated versions of upscalers, and the quality presets for them are also messed up. On top of that, we only get three graphical settings total, and they slapped on a hard 60fps cap.
And somehow, despite all that, the game is absurdly demanding, while offering nothing visually impressive to justify it. It’s a broken, low-effort port that screams cash grab. Just shows zero respect for the players. We deserve far better than this kind of garbage.
The controls are straight out of a bygone era. They feel clunky, and completely unfit for modern standards. Switching weapons through a full menu pause in the middle of gameplay? Come on. That might’ve flown 20 years ago, but today it just kills the flow and screams outdated design.
I’m not even surprised that the console versions perform poorly too. It’s clear the whole game was pushed out without proper optimization on any platform. A rushed job across the board.
It’s crystal clear this was a bare-minimum, cash-grab port with no care, no effort, and no polish. The only reason this game is even playable at a decent standard is thanks to the modding community, who — unlike the developers — actually gave a damn. Mods have already uncapped the framerate and even added frame generation on day 1, saving this release from being a total disaster.
Just finished the demo, not much impressed with it, and was already expecting this by the looks of the trailers. Bloody motion blur is forced on and there are micro stutters when walking around, but weirdly, it seems when you sprint they are not present..
A console generation life cycle has been typically 7-8y, so I don't see the reason why we could not have a new one by the end of 2027 / early 2028. Technology advancements are always ongoing and AI based features I here is to stay and improve - upscalers, frame gen, denoisers, neural rendering, ray/path tracing, etc..
But for now there isn't much to discuss, see you guys in late 2027..
@Rich33 As for the TVs themselves, I believe the big three at the high-end tiers are still Samsung, LG, and Sony. From what I remember watching in recent reviews, Sony tends to lean more toward pure cinematic quality, while LG and Samsung are often preferred for gaming
@Rich33 Haha can imagine.. Absolutely true — a lot of salespeople only seem to know the basics, just enough to push a sale. When it comes to more in-depth features, most of them are totally lost. If you're into the enthusiast-level stuff, it's often like speaking another language to them (",)
@Rich33 Agreed and you raised a very good point regarding the TV panels. CRTs, still today have the lowest latency / response times due to their analog and instantaneous signal processing, reaching almost 0 latency. This results in an outstanding motion clarity which can handle better lower framerates, dips, with a perceived high framerate.
OLED panels have big improvements compared to LCDs in processing the digital signals but still can't match the CRTs due to their nature of displaying the images - this makes minor frame rate drops more noticeable on LCDs and OLEDs compared to CRTs.
Would like just to add that framerate on PC is even more crucial than on consoles, because you typical sit very close to the monitor and specially when using the mouse, its high precision and fast movements makes much more noticeable the impact of the framerate in motion and input response time feel.
I can adapt going from 3digit FPS when playing on the PC and then going to play on the PS5 at 60FPS. As I'm siting further away from the screen and using a controller, it smooths out much more the movements and you can tolerate lower framerates. But of course stable 60FPS is the bare minimum acceptance for me.
@SMJ, @Truegamer79
We live in a different era compared to back then in the mid-late 80s / early 90s - 8bit/16bit and floppy diskettes on PC
I really get your point, but naturally concerns about framerate are significantly more prevalent now than before for obvious reasons and it should be considered as a valid metric to measure the performance and judge the state of a game. We should not give a pass on this.
Gamers were used to inconsistent performance, most didn’t expect perfect framerates. If a game ran at 20–30 FPS, that was often acceptable, especially in 3D titles.
Today eSports, online shooters are popular and demand low latency and high FPS to remain competitive.
Nowadays, many gamers expect smooth, consistent performance at 60 FPS or higher, making even small dips more noticeable and unacceptable.
In the 80/90s— they were just less visible, less measurable, and less expected. Now we can see and quantify everything with many tools at our disposal.
@Bsb56 @Simu001 not all of them run like crap, some run quite well, Split Fiction as an example and recently The Alters, Robocop, Mafia, but indeed the vast majority is a nightmare..
Many upcoming games UE5 on the horizon like Metal Eden, Hell is Us, Cronos, SIlent Hill F, Little Nightmares 3..
On top of the tech disaster on Consoles, game appears to be locked at 60fps and costing 80€ on PC! (Should be possible to unlock it on the engine file since is UE5, but still what a joke..)
This game is really having all the ingredients to be sailed the seven seas by the PC crowd
@rjejr only LN3 which will release this Oct has cough coop. The first two are single player only made by original studio - Tarsier. But now they are making a new game - Reanimal which will be cough coop as well
@rjejr, @Midnyte-Monkey, @SuntannedDuck2 We are eating good regarding these local coop games. Split Fiction, this one, Little Nightmares 3 on Oct, and there is another coming out next year - Out of words
@Steeleye50 the performance on PC is not that awful like ppl are saying. As many other UE5 titles, this game is very demanding and this one is particularly very heavy on VRAM. Players using 8GB GPU need to tweak down settings, otherwise they will run easily out of VRAM and then start facing stutters and other issues
It's not a very well optimized game overall (relies a lot of upscaling) but is not like ppl are saying, there are several videos online showcasing the game running in low-mid range GPU achieving 60+fps
Games that were release in a much much worse state, ppl were not so harsh or simply got a pass on the performance state
Most players complaining on PC got to be people with low end hardware not being realistic and pushing graphical settings on their system. It's a big challenge to run this game on 8GB VRAM GPUs, it's even recommended to keep textures at low.
It's still possible to achieve 60fps on low/mid end HW tweaking the graphical settings. In terms of stutters there were way to many other games released recently in a much worst state. This game doesn't suffer from shader compilation stutters but do has some traversal stutters. As a standard in UE5 titles, it's highly dependant on upscaling unfortunately.
This game is not brilliant optimized but is not awfully optimized either (can scale with low/mid range HW)
Regarding the review, while I agree with some comments here, remember that reviews are just personal opinions. I personally don't give a damn about the reviews, only thing I care to know about a review is how the game is technically, in terms of performance, bugs, and support features / optimize settings (PC)
For me review scores in general are also joke, trying to determine where a game stands on a scale of 1 to 10 makes no sense and invites unfair and often non sense comparisons.
For me is enough to watch gameplay (non commentary) and form my own opinion like a grown up man!
Can't get my head around how come this show is being considered worst than yesterdays' SoP here..
It was not an amazing show but it was decent compared to previous years and last SoP!
At least made me add a much bigger number of games to my list of interest:
Resident Evil Requiem
End of Abyss (Little nightmares devs)
Out of Words (Split Fiction like coop game)
Lego Voyagers (Split Fiction like coop game)
Atomic Heart 2 + The cube
Mortal Shell 2
Mixtape (maybe)
Lies of P DLC
Dying Light: The Beast (very close release date)
ILL
From yesterday SoP:
Silent Hill F, maybe 007 and that was it.. (never liked Nioh)
It was not difficult for yesterdays's SoP show being one of the best from the PS5 era, simply giving the fact that all of the previous ones were an absolute sh*te!!..
That being said, this last SoP was still very underwhelming with just 2 / 3 meaningful updates
I had no interest on this one from the start with the approach of "all-in multiplayer", but it's worth mentioning that Fromsoftware is already getting beyond unacceptable levels!.. In 2025 they still can't get a stable performance on their games with its modest graphic fidelity, and continue to introduce hard FPS cap on PC.. miserable state..
@ShogunRok Oh I see, but is kinda odd not offering a performance mode specially on the pro. Could have sacrifice the resolution and other effects. Thank you very much for the feedback!
Everybody can see that this trailer was simply a series of cutscenes with zero gameplay. I personally think it's too soon to judge anything, let's see how it turns out close to the release and how it will actually look during gameplay. Moreover, if there will be no 60FPS mode I'm afraid will have to skip it and wait for the PC release..
Bloody live service crap.. as bad as it sounds, I hope this doesn't succeed, so Sony will finally give up the idea of pursuing this trend and focus more in single player stuff.
@Cornpop76 @Ainu20 apparently seems that the balanced and performance modes are 1440p dynamic internally before upscaling to 4k, so I assume performance would drop lower within the interval range.
The main difference between these modes on the PRO is the loss of hair strands on the perf mode. Also some visuals are decreased like shadows, draw distance, textures
PS5 pro still disappoints not keeping hair strands on performance mode, and RT reflections are not present even on 40FPS balanced mode, you really have to go down to 30FPS to have those RT effects.. Also they could make available the option for unlocked frame rate in all modes
These guys absolutely kick ass, not only for the games they make but also for their pro-consumer practices. A gem and an example for the gaming industry!
We should get more devs like this, to saves us from the current state the gaming industry is in, surrounded by crap. Long live Hazelight Studios!
@Steel76 Came across with some video where I saw that GoWR actually offers that option, to swap the upscaler between TAA and PSSR, where TAA gets you around more 15FPS. Visually both look identical on this game
I was really looking forward to this device, I really was.. but Sony again was able to surprise in the negative way! Double the price of the original one for what it offers, and targeting at launch improvements only on past games that many already played.
People keep complaining of 700$ before tax in US, but in Europe is a f***ing 800€ / 874$ !! Sony is really spitting on our faces..
I personally don't tend to replay games, usually I finished them and move on to the next, want always new games and experiences..
At launch I don't see any reason to rush for this as simply there is not even a handful of new upcoming 1st party games showing how they benefit BIG from the PS5 pro.
For this price point they better have more options as well, other than mixed fidelity / perf modes. I was hoping for performance modes with VRR unlocked frames higher than 60, or fidelity modes with significant improved visuals at 60
If eventually in the future Sony will reveal several 1st party games with meaningful improvements against the based console I might consider, but right now is totally pointless. Even if it would cost 500€ I would probably left it there on living room on the dust like my current is because there is no new 1st party games to play.
For all other non PS studios /exclusive games I playing them on my high end PC
@KundaliniRising333 Indeed, Sony really have their fanbase on their hands.. after so many atrocities they have been doing this gen, it's enough to show only one 1st party game in a long time with a vague release date, and many are already at it - praising and boot licking Sony! I was happy with the announcement but Sony has to deliver much more this gen..
If Sony has only to show two remasters as 1st party titles.. - guess there will be no hope on them! Also there should be some focus on the PS5 pro!
What's the point of getting the PS5 pro now (even if it was 500€), if there will be no new games coming up soon? It would make sense to show how new upcoming games will benefit from it and not just PS4/cross-gen games or even PS5 only games that were released already! And I do hope it's not doing only fidelity modes at 60fps..
I wouldn't buy a PS5 pro to re-play old games or recent games that I already finished on the base console.. maybe some players would but oh dear, how underwhelming this Sony has been is beyond the beyonds..
Finished the game yesterday and today got the secret ending. Killed every single boss in the game and all the different numerous enemies.
Had a very good time with the it, outstanding visuals, so many boss battles, some are incredible, specially the one from the secret ending is totally epic. Had a very nice time with it, just annoying the missable stuff..
I'm Glad this game on PC has an intense save backup system where you can go back.. had to do it few times not to miss something and re-do some bosses
Indeed the world in wide areas feels like a filler at times..
In my case didn't have issues with the performance on my system, 120-140FPS/1440p DLSS-89% + FG + Full RT very high cinematic preset, however hope there will be some room to improve optimization, specially on consoles! The lack of nvidia reflex is a joke on a sponsored nvidia game..
@jrt87 Lumen is one of the features of UE5, it can be used or not. In some games it turns on as you increase individual settings (i.e. from high to ultra), in others is simply not used. So a UE5 game doesn't necessary means that has built-in software ray tracing aka Lumen.
Regarding the performance the benchmark tool results from a PC - Console like HW were overall positive by the DF on that same video.
This is one heavy game - no doubt, but it's also a very scalable game where you can tweak many stuff!
@Northern_munkey Sure, just post this info here, so others here can relax a little bit more!
The game should look still very good on PS5 and run fine, only negative thing that seems to be present are the bloody traversal stutters of unreal engine, but this should be less relevant on consoles, as is just one set of HW to optimize
@Northern_munkey (",) Well, I can understand the alarm of the people when there is no info about PS5, no footage and only PC copies being distributed. We've been experienced several cases on the past.
However, at the same time the devs released a benchmark tool which is very nice to see and automatically providing a lot of transparency from them. Tools like this and demos should be a standard!
There are a ton of benchs out there which proves the game to be very scalable, running on lower end GPUs, even lower than the PS5 itself.
So it's expected a performance mode on PS5 to run fine, of course without any form of RT, with probably a dynamic res of 1440p or 1080p, with a mix preset of medium / high settings - PC equivalent
FF7 Rebirth was by far my best experience! Despite the visuals issues, that can look at times a bit rough, there are so many moments and scenes that looked great and overall the game world and chars models are very appealing. The overall quality, attention to detail and the love that was put into it is in another level!..
Big shout also to ER DLC, (amazing stuff and bigger than many full games) but still sad that performance is the same or worse state than the base game. With the money that they make they should start deliver much more on this department - performance and tech aspects. Btw 60FPS cap on PC in 2024 it's an atrocity
Talking about performance, DD2 at launch, might be the most unpolished game of the year. That is beyond terrible, a case to say almost unplayable on consoles at least
Stellar Blade, Helldivers 2 were good games but nothing groundbreaking
Honestly kinda saturated of soulslike already!.. They are now all over the place.. The next ones I see myself playing next is Wukong and probably Phantom Blade 0, as the combat seems to be fantastic. Anyway, there should be a demo of this one tomorrow on Steam..
Sony is really getting on the 1st place as the most misleading and greedy company in the gaming industry.. what a disgrace it became
Regarding resolutions, 4K is already simply a waste of resources in gaming, and nowadays native resolutions are kinda thing of the past. Upscaling is here to stay and continue to be improved. Many PC players with capable HW to run games decently at 4K, are using upscaling anyway to target higher frame rates
1080p is still the most common resolution on steam followed by 1440p (considered to be the sweet spot)
1440p already looks quite decent in a display up to 55 inches. For context a 1440p 27 inches screen has more pixel density than on a 42 inches screen at 4K..
Going from 1440p to 4K is too taxing, using those resources for other graphical settings makes the game looking way better overall
Much more important than resolutions are other graphical settings like RT effects, textures, animations, physics, AI on NPC/enemies etc..
This push for 4K in gaming is absolutely ridiculous and a way to justify high end GPUs
That being said, I don't think I need to even mention 8K, just leave that and 4K for cinema specially on gigantic screens
Setting is interesting. Let's hope it's just not a reskin of the previous recent games Don't forget this is Ubish*t, expect MTXs and a quest lines behind a season pass.

I'm surprised to hear about the performance when I've seen reports stating:
"Performance mode 80-100fps (lock fps off)
Balanced mode 60-90fps (lock fps off)
Quality mode 60-70fps (lock fps off)"
So all above the minimum Hz VRR Range (+48fps)

I had no interest on this one from the start with the approach of "all-in multiplayer", but it's worth mentioning that Fromsoftware is already getting beyond unacceptable levels!.. In 2025 they still can't get a stable performance on their games with its modest graphic fidelity, and continue to introduce hard FPS cap on PC.. miserable state..
Re: Poll: 10 Years Later, What Are Your Thoughts on The Witcher 3?
Definitely one of the most overrated games of all time!..
Re: The Precinct (PS5) - GTA-Style Sandbox Is a Dynamic, Addictive Cop Movie Homage
@ShogunRok Oh I see, but is kinda odd not offering a performance mode specially on the pro. Could have sacrifice the resolution and other effects. Thank you very much for the feedback!
Re: The Precinct (PS5) - GTA-Style Sandbox Is a Dynamic, Addictive Cop Movie Homage
@ShogunRok could you kindly comment the frame rate/performance of the game?
Re: Rockstar Silences the Sceptics, Confirms GTA 6 Trailer Was a Mix of Gameplay and Cutscenes on Base PS5
Re: Marathon a 'Premium', Paid for Game on PS5, But It's Not $70
Bloody live service crap.. as bad as it sounds, I hope this doesn't succeed, so Sony will finally give up the idea of pursuing this trend and focus more in single player stuff.
Re: Video: PS5 Pro vs PS5 - Assassin's Creed Shadows Stuns on Sony's Hardware
@Cornpop76 @Ainu20 apparently seems that the balanced and performance modes are 1440p dynamic internally before upscaling to 4k, so I assume performance would drop lower within the interval range.
The main difference between these modes on the PRO is the loss of hair strands on the perf mode. Also some visuals are decreased like shadows, draw distance, textures

Re: Video: PS5 Pro vs PS5 - Assassin's Creed Shadows Stuns on Sony's Hardware
PS5 pro still disappoints not keeping hair strands on performance mode, and RT reflections are not present even on 40FPS balanced mode, you really have to go down to 30FPS to have those RT effects.. Also they could make available the option for unlocked frame rate in all modes
Re: Split Fiction (PS5) - A Truly Outstanding, Peerlessly Creative Co-Op Adventure
These guys absolutely kick ass, not only for the games they make but also for their pro-consumer practices. A gem and an example for the gaming industry!
We should get more devs like this, to saves us from the current state the gaming industry is in, surrounded by crap. Long live Hazelight Studios!
Re: Review: PS5 Pro - An Impressive Yet Inconsistent Upgrade
@Steel76 Came across with some video where I saw that GoWR actually offers that option, to swap the upscaler between TAA and PSSR, where TAA gets you around more 15FPS.
Visually both look identical on this game
Re: Poll: Did You Pre-Order a PS5 Pro?
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Will Experiment with 8K, 60fps on PS5 Pro
4K is already a waste of resources many times, consoles and even PCs are not quite there yet and they are talking about 8K..
DELUSIONAL!
Re: The Biggest PS5, PS4 Winners from a Humongous State of Play
@KundaliniRising333 Indeed, Sony really have their fanbase on their hands.. after so many atrocities they have been doing this gen, it's enough to show only one 1st party game in a long time with a vague release date, and many are already at it - praising and boot licking Sony! I was happy with the announcement but Sony has to deliver much more this gen..
Re: State of Play Confirmed for Tomorrow, 20+ PS5, PSVR2 Games Included
Re: PS5, PC Shooter Concord Dead on Arrival, Is Being Taken Offline This Week as Dev 'Explores Options'
This has to be a big message to Sony to rethink their strategy internally and stop chasing live service crap.
I might be wrong, but something tells me that Sony will still try to make this free to play and try to squeeze as most they can from it later on.
This also serves as an example that we gamers, have the power to make things change voting with the our wallets..
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Black Myth: Wukong?
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Black Myth: Wukong?
Playing it slowly on my PC, reached chapter 3 with all secrets/bosses uncovered so far I believe. Stunning game visually indeed and very fun!
1440p / DLSS 89% + FG, Cinematic Preset + Full RT Very High @120-140FPS VRR, no problems here (",)
Re: Until Dawn PS5 Is Priced at $60 / £60
I would at best pick this one up on PC while sailing the seven seas
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
@jrt87 Lumen is one of the features of UE5, it can be used or not. In some games it turns on as you increase individual settings (i.e. from high to ultra), in others is simply not used. So a UE5 game doesn't necessary means that has built-in software ray tracing aka Lumen.
Regarding the performance the benchmark tool results from a PC - Console like HW were overall positive by the DF on that same video.
This is one heavy game - no doubt, but it's also a very scalable game where you can tweak many stuff!
We shall see next week..
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
@Northern_munkey Sure, just post this info here, so others here can relax a little bit more!
The game should look still very good on PS5 and run fine, only negative thing that seems to be present are the bloody traversal stutters of unreal engine, but this should be less relevant on consoles, as is just one set of HW to optimize
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
As an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSArXBbbdwY
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
IGN China released yesterday a PS5 gameplay boss fight footage: https://youtu.be/4bnKS1scCBE?si=e0HH5IzCSGHHs7S-
Seems to be fine..
Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2024 So Far?
Re: Need Another Soulslike? Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Attacks PS5 Next Month
Honestly kinda saturated of soulslike already!.. They are now all over the place.. The next ones I see myself playing next is Wukong and probably Phantom Blade 0, as the combat seems to be fantastic.
Anyway, there should be a demo of this one tomorrow on Steam..
Re: PS5 Packaging No Longer Mentions 8K, Some Fans Accuse Sony of False Advertising
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows the Actual Name of AC Red, Reveal This Week
Setting is interesting. Let's hope it's just not a reskin of the previous recent games
Don't forget this is Ubish*t, expect MTXs and a quest lines behind a season pass.
