@Shinnok789 Indeed I'm wondering myself when Sony / Devs will start using FSR on PS5. This would help to be able to play certain games with RT targetting 60fps for example, or simply to target some games at 120fps withtout RT. Hope they will wake up soon
@ShogunRok @themightyant @Bleachedsmiles totally agree. And they dare to release a 2020 game full price on PC now where it has been claimed to be one of the worst PC ports in a very long time.
Anyway, I'm happy for those who got this game via PS+ can now enjoy the best version. Personally got this game and DLC day 1 and platinumed it after few weeks last year on PS4. I don't think I will replay it simply because I'm not the kind of person that replay games, I just want new stuff Despite this being one of my favourite games of all time!!..
It's sad how the gaming industry turned out to be, we are just surrounded by greed of these big AAA companies. Moreover, for some time already, it has become a new standard: Release unfinished games - patch them later. This is gaming now in 2021 unfortunately.. but that's another topic.
This what we wan't, better graphical engines, more details, tech and fidelity. Let's forget about the overated 4k. I hope they manage to target 60fps on future games with this UE5 engine on consoles, it can be at 1080p / 1440p, I don't care, just put aside the bloody 4k if needed to achieve better results in performance
Same goes to target RT in games at 60fps with lower resolutions
This 4K gaming in general is a pure maketing thing that goes along with the TVs.
Specially on PC I don't really give a damn about 4K, where playing less than 1m away from the monitor plus a much smaller size than say a 55 inch TV, where the difference between the resolutions can be more noticeable.
You can argue you can plug the PC to a big TV but is really not the most use case there.. For PC gaming I believe it's much more important performance over pixel counts anyway.
That being said, I'm very happy to play on my 1440p@144hz monitor for the next years to come on PC.
If I were to play this game on PC I would go off course 1440p/Ultra aiming for the highest FPS possible and make use also of the DLSS to try to target above 100fps ideally targeting the refresh rate of the monitor - 144fps with my setup RTX3080 + i9900k + 32GB RAM
I would say for the moment, just leave the 4k and 8k for cinema specially on those massive screens, and later on when we will have more capable GPUs maybe consider 4k / 8k gaming..
Little Nightmare 2 once again being ignored and not on the list.. It takes two deserves the GOTY really.. I'm fan of RE franchise, RE Village was good but extremely overated - 7/10 at best (will not even comment on deathloop ) Returnal probably the best big PS5 game this year Ratchet was very nice but too short and more of a showcase
If you like survival horror games, specially Resident Evil, try Tormented Souls. The voice acting and characters animations are very poor but what a fanastic environment and puzzles. Really old school. Again in terms of puzzles it gives a lesson, like haven't seen anywhere in a long time. Puts to shame recently AAA on that department, yes including RE Village The plot was also crazy!
@LiamCroft "And what was that persistent icon on the left-hand side of the screen all about?" - The monument icon will appear on the left side of the screen meaning that you in an area you can summon spirits!
@Denni5m I tried briefly a copy of the game on my PC just to see how it runs, and at 1440p, with everything maxed out, I was getting min around 110fps and max around 160fps on a RTX 3080 + i9-9900k, 32G RAM. But indeed on PC there are issues as well.. The main reason I don't feel getting it on PC is more because of no support for dual sense functionality, which is a big thing on this game. Btw, a PS5 on paper is actually close to a RTX2070 super equivalent, though is not that linear to compare the two due to many factors, but honestly RTX3070 seems already to be far above.. anyway this is another entire discussion.. (",)
Indeed, thank you All for your feedback! I really wanted to pick this one as I really enjoyed WRC9, but after reading this comments got really discouraged Still consider WRC 9 the game with best dual sense implementation so far besides Astro of course, and also the only game I experienced extensively at 120fps.
I remember WRC 9 was half price roughly two months after its release last year. Hopefully by November they fix most of the issues and it will be half price by that time
Also thought to get it on my PC, as it costs only 28€ on retailers (pitty we don't have these alternatives on consoles ) but I prefer to wait and play this game on the big TV with the dualsense.
Maybe next year before GT7 release they will launch a new wheel for PS5 and might invest on that thing
@SJBUK Simply Sony owe us an explanation on this matter. It was told on their blog explicitly that the PS5 upgrade of HFW will be free. Moreover, Jim Ryan also stated the following: "we have an upgrade path for PS4 users to get the PS5 versions for free"
Sony a year ago: “Additionally, we know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4. While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.”
Jim Ryan in an interview: “No one should be disappointed,” Ryan said. “The PS5 versions of those games are built from the ground up to take advantage of the PS5 feature set, and we have an upgrade path for PS4 users to get the PS5 versions for free. It’s about people having choice. I’m really quite pleased about the situation.”
I just finished the Iki island main story (PS4 version) on PS5 and was pretty good! Will spend still some hours more to explore the rest of the island and do all the side content.
I won't be supporting this money farm and greed from sony! Getting the upgrade just for the sake of the dualsense features, it's just a joke.. when you already bought the hardware to utilize that!
What is the most ridiculous is that the biggest upgrade was already been given for free - the 60FPS!! Pretty much it's a charge just for the dualsense features, even the loadings are almost none on the PS4 version installed on the internal SSD of the PS5, and the resolution it's almost unnoticeable - a slighly boost from 1800p to 2160p.
If there wasn't a 60FPS upgrade free till now, and they would include it now on this 10€ upgrade would make more sense and "less exposed to greed". But still.. would be still a money grab! We see so many upgrades been given for free for much smaller studios. And look at Spiderman Miles Morales, u get 60FPS, RT, Performance RT for free! This move/strategy from Sony just didn't fell really good..
@talocaca that's awesome not sure if that could apply to me on the PC version, and also never had live gold sub before, since on PC you are also not charged to play online
@talocaca agreed! Also PS5 DE owner here and recently last month tried myself the gamepass but on my PC "master race" (haha).
Funny thing is that I paid 1€ on the 1st month and cancelled the auto-renew. Yesterday actually re-subscribed and was charged again only 1€ if keeps like that, it's great stuff
I was thinking just to re-subscribe only when Forza Horizon 5 will come out.. Got flight simulator 1y ago on steam, can't wait finally for the performance patch coming next week to try it out.
@nicc83 haha Indeed! The standard every month: add to library to never play them, just pilling up sh*t! The interesting ones that sometimes appear in some months, end up already owning them, rest yeah just making volume on the library (",) I don't know how Sony will succeed this gen, if continues with all the crap: trash PS+ line ups, expensive new released games, re-releasing games again full price with excuse of expansions, charging for upgrades when you already bought the HW, system OS still with issues, lack of options, no support yet for external SSD, no VRR, no 1440p support What a rushed system this was.. let's see..
I don't have interest at all in Deathloop from the start, don't care if it's time exclusive or the last Bethesda game on PS. It simply didn't click me.. I just hope they will show something nice about some 3rd party titles, like for example Forspoken, FF16, Elden Ring, Atomic Heart (I don't ask too much ) Indies like Stray, Sifu, Season would be nice to see
@Luigia the first leak for the July PS+ line up, it was supposed to be WRC 9 included there, PS4 version though. Let's see in the future, if not the case, this game seems to be on discount quite often. It also got a quite generous price drop in short period after the release!..
@MickOnYourFace the game is very difficult and also very punishing. But once you get the hangs of it, gets better and satisfying. There is a slider where you can set the difficulty from 50 to 150%. In career mode once you select it at the beginning of the season, you can't change it until the end. I played on 100% and it was already very challenging specially in some countries.
WRC 9 was probably one of the best experiences I had with the Dualsense support and features so far, also it's a fantastic fantastic rally SIM.
I'm wondering how they will improve on WRC 10!!
I'm thinking just to pay for the DLC on PS4 which is fair and not upgrading it to PS5. (Actually is the only option available currently on the PS Store - upgrade to DC on PS4 version) At the end of the day I will be playing the game at 60fps, I'll just be just sorry to miss the dual sense features. But whatever, I won't be supporting this greedy action of Sony charging for the upgrade.
It's all about us - gamers, to make Sony do a U turn - not paying for the upgrade and much less paying full game price on PS4/PS5 after 1y release!
Same applies for example to not pre-order games before knowing the its state, etc. As long as we keep giving our money to these companies, they simply not give a f*** and they will keep continuing stretching the rope until they can.
Also, regarding the increment of the of the game's price due the the cost of production also have raised, it's a damn joke, this is music to our ears. We as a consumer don't care and we should demand the best at the lowest price possible. At the end of the day these companies are millionaire / billionaire.. they really need to increase the price 10€? Of course not, they are just looking ways to maximize their profit and get even more rich. Please don't believe in this story, look for example how much money these AAA companies like Ubisoft make and many of them the money they get only from microtransactions like EA with FIFA, NBA etc..
It's a shame how this gaming industry turned out to be... It's all about money nothing else matters, but this unfortunately applies to everything in this world!!..
Totally agree with this article, I've been really enjoying PlayStation since PS1, just skipped PS3 but what Sony is doing lately is totally unacceptable. Just too greedy and arrogant as hell!!.. PushSquare keep saying the truth, despite the people not seem to like to hear it.
@ChromaticDracula @Nepp67 Indeed the foliage seems to be the weakest point of this RE engine I would say, but overall almost every room you go is pretty full of detail and looks very nice, specially in the castle. I wouldn't point out much the graphics on this game. For me the weakest point is clearly the voice acting and the characters, it's just terrible and too much action oriented, specially the "CoD" scene with Chris at the end it's just too much.. Also story wise was a bit of a let down. I would give it a 6.5 / 7 at max. As a fan of RE, still had a good time playing it, enjoyed the weapons and gunplay and it has some good moments. (I played it on PC with RT on and max settings with the frames capped at 120 on my RTX 3080 to save power )
The "more action oriented" was to be expected already since Village is inspired on RE4, which by the way, I find it the most overrated game of the series, I can't understand why.. Actually, it was on RE4 when the series started take a different direction and become crap followed by Re5 & 6.
My tops of the list would be the true real classic REs: 1-3 + Code Veronika, (RE0 could be also, but got tedious with no storage box and dropping items on the floor). Next on the list would come RE7 and Village and only RE4 would come after. Rest of the titles are not even worth mentioning.
On PS5 I believe we only have two big only PS5 games so far, Demon Souls (my favorite I guess - even motivated me to get the platinum) and recently Returnal (very good but tedious going for platinum - too much luck dependent for those survey trophies, no patience for that). Horizon Forbidden West hopefully will be very good and it's the one I'm really looking forward next, but not to expect to be at the same level of Demon Souls or Returnal since is going to be released also on last gen consoles..
@Enigk I'm with you the Classics ones are indeed 1, 2, 3 and Code Veronica. Then the new RE engine titles so far are amazing, just pitty they cut to many stuff on the 3 Remake bit still enjoyed it
@LiamCroft I tried to copy this morning one PS5 game from internal storage to the USB external storage and got an error. "Something went wrong". After that noticed the game was still listed on the internal storage, but when trying to move it again, was showing only as 50M on the pop up window confirmation!!.. Also couldn't start the game again, had to re-download it...
However tested with a small game "Maquette" and it worked fine..
@KundaliniRising333 Agreed with the most part. Been playing on the PC (no issues with performance / crashes - just a bugfest), the strong points of this game for me was the world setting, the characters, story and soundtrack. Gun gameplay was also quite cool, but after finishing the game and did bunch of side missions I think I will be done with it soon..
One of the most annoying things for me was the cell phone ringing all the time about other activities present in the game when you were in the middle of the main quests, it's like game always forcing to keep you enterternained with something else..
I would say is an ok/good game, but far from a GOTY.
I have to say also, Witcher 3 in my opinion is one the most overated games ever.. in 2015 Bloodborne by far should have won that GOTY

These guys are the first putting a price tag of 80€ on PC for this game and FF7R also.. They can f*** *** seriously..

@Dezzy70 hahaha same here!! Except the food not sure
I've been buying digital only since PS4 pro when I got it in 2018

And yes games are expensive in general, specially on consoles.. PC full prices are still 60€ or sometimes free (",)

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Resident Evil Village?
@ChromaticDracula, when a title comes out also to previous platforms can never expect to be pure next gen.. Expect the same for Horizon 2
Re: All Resident Evil Games Ranked and Best Places to Start
@Enigk I'm with you the Classics ones are indeed 1, 2, 3 and Code Veronica. Then the new RE engine titles so far are amazing, just pitty they cut to many stuff on the 3 Remake bit still enjoyed it
Re: PS5's Hourly Disc Spinning Sound Seems to Have Been Reduced
@gingerfrog Cool, congratz. I was lucky to get mine at launch day
Re: PS5's Hourly Disc Spinning Sound Seems to Have Been Reduced

Re: Hands On: PS5's External Storage Feature Offers Speedy Solution to Launch Fears
Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 Detailed, and It's Absolutely Massive
Good! We really got a "Alpha version" at launch! Let's see if with this update the game will be finally back on PSN store
Re: Soapbox: I'm Really Enjoying Cyberpunk 2077
@KundaliniRising333
Agreed with the most part.
Re: Sony Removes Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store, Pledges Refunds for All PS Store Purchases
Lesson learned from this - to us gamers, stop pre-ordering games entirely and wait for reviews, no matter which developer/game is, or that you trust.
