Re: Poll: Should the PS4 Pro Have a UHD Blu-ray Player?

Draythedestroyer

I buy my fav films on bluray because the quailty is better then streaming. I hear with 4k that gap is a lot larger and from what I've seen (from UHD set up in shops) I can believe it.

So i can understand why Sony left it out because I stream 5 films a week and only buy 2-4 blurays a year but at the sametime the bluray player in my PS4/PS3 is a treasured feature for me.

@Leeham @Bad-MuthaAdebisi yeah I know. Its the legendary marks for breaking down gear I'm interested in (I'm assuming vendors will stock decent year 3 gear for legendary marks). I agree it could be a massive waste of my time but then I quite like playing Destiny so its ok. Its just for fun really well unless your waiting on decent leg drop those 304 boots are killing my light level ☺

Re: Reaction: Shrewd Sony Looks to Continue Market Domination with PS4 Pro

Draythedestroyer

@get2sammyb I'm sure that when MS launched the Xbone after the success 360 and Nintendo on the eve of the 3DS and WiiU felt like you Sammy. Yes I think Sony can lose its install base over half a console generation recent history has proved it can.

How about the fact that Sony got that install base by a) Microsoft messing up its xbone launch by not understanding what gamers want and b) Sony having the more powerful console with higher res or framerates.

If they're going for the hardcore gaming crowd and if you'd asked them what they wanted out of a the pro it would have been higher and more stable frame rates ( i mean they come up in every pushsquare review ☺). So Sony aren't intune with what people want this time around.

Yes MS have nothing to show now but when elder scrolls VI runs at 60+ fps on the scorpio and on 30fps on the pro in 12-18 months non of that is going to matter. And what are Sony going to do release a propro in two years to catch up. So MS are giving the people what they want a true half step and MS can only gain ground its Sony's lead to lose. And after all the pro slim and VR are aimed at existing PS customers its not going to draw a lot of new users.

Lets for a second talk about the power of internet influences in the gaming market and they fact I haven't seen one of them excited for the pro.

Also explain to my mum why she should buy me a new PS4 for £350 when there is a perfectly good one sat in the living room/bedroom? Sony failed to do that last night.

I have no doubt that PSVR will sell although I found MS's comments about how they don't consider the VR and hardcore gaming markets to be the same group on people interesting and it aligns to the general thoughts on VR in my office. Whats funny is the people who tell me VR is the future are the causal gamers who will seek my advise on whether to buy a pro and I'll tell no wait for the scorpio.

In the short term nothings going to change I'm sure Sony will have a great christmas but for me its seems like they have made a short sighted tactical move when they should have done something more strategic and I think it will hurt them in the long run.

Re: Feature: 5 PS4 Exclusives That Are Flying Under the Radar

TLG and GR2 are the games I'm most looking forward to this year. I have no concept what dreams is and when it comes to MM games I tend to buy them because they are so imaginative but don't actually enjoy playing them that much. Wild does interest me at all and I didn't even know they were making HSG and know that I do I'm not bothed either way.

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing No Man's Sky?

Draythedestroyer

I'm still playing it and loving it. Its my sci-fi dreams come true. I get that Shaun Murray has done a bit of a molyneux and why that might anger some people that have been following this game but I didn't follow the game closely I saw the initial reveal and said yes I want that.

Re: Review: Assetto Corsa (PS4)

Draythedestroyer

I can't believe the review wasn't conducted by someone in a crash helmet. If the reviewer was wearing a crash helmet and a 5 point harness he would see this game for the 10 out of 10 masterpiece it is.

Also I doubt it says forced feedback steering wheel required on the box unlike PSVR titles which declare the additional £400 spend.

Re: People Hate Titanfall 2 So Much That the Dev's Had to Respond

Draythedestroyer

The beta tech test was my first ever Titanfall experiance and I have to say I wasn't blown away. I didn't have a problem getting a Titan but I didn't think it was a multiplayer game for me(probably because I shot more AI hoards than peole). If they had any other maps in the bank they should've used them because that map was not good. I'll agree with the angry internet on that point.

Re: Soapbox: No Man's Sky on PS4 Is the Biggest Disappointment of 2016

Draythedestroyer

I kind of feel like anyone thats just going to critical path this game to the centre of the universe. Probably so they can move on to the next big thing (as is the gaming trend these days). Is going to have your experiance.

But if you are in no rush and you find pleasure in just exploring space, you pay attention to the little details. If you want to discover the alien artifacts and space stations. You will find a real hidden jem under that "objective" but the point is not to play that "objective".

Re: Poll: It's Time to Have Your Say on No Man's Sky

Draythedestroyer

Under 10 hours and I love it! I landed on a planet at 12 last night next time I looked at the clock is was 2am. This game will kill me I just love the lack of objectives, the alien monuments with the wording/maybe story the loan traveller in space thing. The sound work is excellent, the art direction even though part dependant on its random nature is beautiful.

This game is my jam 9.5 out of 10 BUT I cannot universally recommend it to everyone.
