Re: What Do You Want from a May 2026 State of Play Showcase?

I would like to see the return of Uncharted or The Last of Us. Obviously this won't happen soon since ND are finishing up with Intergalactic.

Call me generic, but I miss the 'normal guy with gun in hand fighting regular humans that Uncharted and The Last of Us offered. There's is a lot of Sci-Fi and Fantasy stuff in PlayStation now. It's cool, but I much prefer the grounded down to earth stuff ND used to provide the other PS Studios don't delve too deeply into.

I don't despise it like some. There's lots of things about it individually that are great, it just doesn't all blend together very well.

I would definitely love to see a remake-reimagining of it. RE9 does spell out the best kind of potential for a redo with the swapping characters. I would hate if there was just this permeant blotch in RE lore that most people don't like or never see because the game is what it is. Potentially in a decade we could see 6 redone ? Time will tell.

Re: 'Sony Finally Understands': Over 70% of PS5 Fans Agree with Decision to Scrap PC Ports

@cragis0001 I'm sure that number includes things like multiplayer titles, games like Destiny 2. Those would be the real money makers and Sony said they would continue to port the multiplayer experiences to other platforms.

I mean, hey, I want to be wrong. I ultimately sit on the fence about this from a logical standpoint. But the article does state the PC ports are only 1.5% of total revenue. 1.5% isn't nothing, but at what cost does it come with? Long term brand damage is the answer. Or at least how it's perceived. That's typically never good for anyone, including investors.

@LogicStrikesAgain The logic is there (no pun intended) I just don't think the money is. How much could Sony seriously make from their own launcher that would justify the costs of PC development? It's a catch-22 each way you slice it.

Sony just has to pick their poison, drink it and smile, I suppose.

I'm just grateful I got Uncharted and both The Last of Us games on PC. They look terrific and play great at such high frame rates on ultrawide monitors.

I will feel my eye twitch in the future though when new Uncharted and The Last of Us games happen and I can't play them on PC though.
