What if the next military shooter didn’t have to be beige? That’s the question Crossfire attempts to answer, a PS5 third-person shooter from ex-Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward devs.
The pitch is simple: “Enemy operators, Layla and Cross, must form a fraught alliance against a lethal threat neither could overcome alone.”
As you can see from the trailer actress Claudia Doumit is among the cast. I kinda get Spec Ops: The Line vibes from this, in a very positive way.

There’s no release date, and the trailer says it’s based on pre-alpha footage, so I’m not expecting it soon. One to keep an eye on, though.

You get caught up in the, CROSSFIRE!!
The production value seems pretty high. That was the most striking thing to me about this trailer. I'm not really sold by the story or characters so far, but I will keep an eye out for this one. It could grow to be something really great.
This was one of the best trailers of the show for me and there was much relief when they made it clear it was single player.
If we can't live together, we're gonna die alone.
How much do we want to bet that these ex-Naughty Dog devs can get a new game released before Naughty Dog themselves do?
This one definitely caught my attention too. Looked really impressive especially for pre-alpha gameplay. Great reveal trailer.
Single player shooter? Sounds good to me!
@dapinionated Rose is going to punch you.
I put this one on my radar.
This one's got me hooked.
Those two leads played in one of the episodes of recent Prime Video mediocrity anthology series about video games. Episode's setting was military too.
3rd favourite after REV and SB2.
It's not a ps5 shooter
@Scottyy Good memory. I just checked and it was actually for this game. Might rewatch that now as this looks interesting.
@dskatter
You are severely underestimating ND’s willingness to crunch their staff to within an inch of their lives to get games done. There’s still a chance they’ll release before Crossfire 😉.
Looks cool, whatever the premise is with some kind of extra terrestrial threat (or... ?) Could be interesting.
@BearsEatBeets
It tells you about the quality of the series when no one mentions in anywhere in the internet. DD
@Scottyy typically for an anthem series the quality varied greatly but I thought there were some excellent episodes in there. The Warhammer 40K was probably best but I also enjoyed the D&D, Unreal and The Future king one with Arnie.
Having just rewatched the Crossfire one I think that one is pretty decent as well.
No signs of the supernatural stuff in that but maybe that story was just about establishing the characters.
Fair to say it was largely forgotten about though.
@BearsEatBeets It was for the Crossfire world, I don't think that episode was at all related to this particular game.
@Lysterao It literally has the two main characters of the game in the episode.
@PSXB Miracles can happen!
Makes sense, since that's clearly Dina from TLOU 2
The best surprise of the swow
