Re: Rumour: The Walking Dead Tucks into PS4 from 17th June

Loved it, actually one of the most rewarding games of the last gen but as previously stated I have no intention to buy for the next gen considering there isn't much they can improve on.

Look forward to Season Two (phew managed to get through that spoiler free LOL)

Re: Wait, Did Housemarque Just Announce a Sequel to Resogun?

Chris1975

I think for a lot of thirtysomethings Resogun was a throwback to the 10p coin ops n playing Defender again n again n again.

Basically Resogun was Defender with better staging, graphics n progression and as such was a blast for a guy like me.....now if Housemarque could get their hands on Green Beret or even Ikari Warriors......

@get2sammyb Good stuff, I am interested in it but after seeing the price of Merc Kings outside of ps+ and how pissed off I would have been had I paid that amount for such a repetitive game I'm looking for ps+ to bring some value for money outside of the free game every month if that is the fare we are going to be served.

Re: Microsoft Ponders PlayStation's Commitment to, Er, Television

Chris1975

Um I bought my ps4 for next gen gaming full stop.

There is content galore out there just now, Netflix, Amazon, HBO and AMC all delivering powerful programming, enough to keep my brain ticking over between gaming.

Stick to what the ps4 was built for and primarily marketed at Games and Gamers.

@FuturLab_Dave

Would just like to say that as usual this is why Push Square is the best place to come for news and reviews as developers (outside of the big gaming houses of course) actually take an interest in what is being said on the page and actively look for feedback through them, Kudos to both you and Push Square for making a gaming site that is both current and useful.

Re: What Does Facebook's Oculus Rift Acquisition Mean for PS4's Virtual Reality Headset?

Chris1975

@get2sammyb Completely agree Sammy, this IS the future, it may be "niche" now but I see large scale adoption in the near future as things like social networking become integrated (at least on the Rift side of things).

A number of generations have been waiting on technology like this, to those of a younger outlook this may not be something that has been on your radar but for children of the eighties and nineties this has long been a dream and as such it feels like we are taking a step into a future we have long just been standing on the threshold of.

Re: PS4's Virtual Reality Headset May Just Be Revealed on 18th March

We have been waiting for some kind of major innovation since the advent of 3d came into gaming, changing our gaming experience overnight. Gone were the old 2d games (for the most part), the likes of Mario and Sonic had to evolve and to differing degrees of success.

Now with the dawn of VR gaming we might just see a new type of game evolve, we haven't had anything ground breaking since first person shooters took over the landscape so maybe with the fresh impetus of VR gaming we will see new types of gaming experience come with it.

Personally I have never been a fan of the in-cockpit view of driving games, always defaulting back to the third person out of the car view but if this gear makes Drive Club all the more realistic then I am all for it.

Just like in any medium you have to evolve to keep current and fresh and with tablet and mobile gaming in general beginning to eat up a lot of peoples time Sony, Microsoft and Ninty know they have to move or be in danger of being passed by, it was already being talked about in the last generation and there were fears that it was all over for this generation but the fans have shown they still have faith in the gaming giants and with this piece of gear Sony are showing that they aren't resting on their laurels after trouncing MS in the opening salvos of this new gen war.

I for one, having been a gamer since roughly 1980 and one who has seen it evolve over that time into something we could only ever dream of back then look forward to VR in a big way, it was something we could all look to back then and think now that is something we will see in the future, I just didn't think it would take more than a quarter of a century to get there.

Re: Whoa, There Are 100 Games Coming to PlayStation 4 in 2014

Chris1975

WOW the disappointment for some on here is palpable but not understandable.

Okay I have been sad at the dearth of games so far in 2014 but come on guys it's only February, we have exclusives to come already, we have E3 just around the corner, we still have Xmas this year to come and if you think there won't be one, two or even three big titles coming out around then you are mad.

Peoples expectations need to be tempered, we have a few good games so far, there are more imminently coming and we still have three quarters of the year to go so just chill guys before you write this year off already in the first quarter!
