@LogicStrikesAgain Though I am far too inebriated to enter into a debate and online discourse right now, did want to stop by and say you've stated some really spot on points.
It's what I have echoed in many of my own comments over time, and whilst it may not be what many wish to hear, it is indeed factual.
Anyway, that is all, need to get back to drunken music listening, over and out!
Just so people are aware (if not already), Statista, working alongside Consumer Insights who conducted this survey push them out to quite an interesting demographic.
Basically, there are a bunch of Apps that are typically in iOS and Android stores that allow one to do a survey for money, then some like YouGov in the UK use a website.
Anyway, these intermediaries ranging from companies like YouGov, Qmee and so on, they offer the correspondent a few pence, usually £0.05 - £3.00 or so per survey.
As one can imagine, apparently it's a heavily weighted business towards paying correspondents low amounts.
Now a lot of these companies (Qmee and so forth), monopolise on their users being cash poor and in need or desire for a few quid to put towards savings, bills, groceries and so on.
There's entire Reddit groups surrounding how to get the survey end as soon as possible with some of them to redeem the cash and so forth.
Anyway, I was told about this long ago at a studio I worked at, whereby the Studio Head said he takes all these surveys with more than a pinch of salt, as they are literally usually a tick box exercise, whereby you can tick anything you want, rush to the end, redeem your cash and go on with your day.
So, that's my 2 pence so to speak. There's a reason why money motivated survey intermediaries targeting the poorer correspondents who rush through them for the money would be less valuable as data sources.
TLDR: I know of no modern survey company where I can't register right now, start a survey and rush through it, and get a reward, and there's whole groups online of how to do it. So no one in the industry would actually take this seriously, nor should we.
I mean seriously, search Qmee and YouGov etc. Easy to do, YouGov you literally don't even have to state anything that makes sense, or tick a particular answer, many of their survey's are just people spamming the next tickbox and so forth.
And all this I picked up from a bloke at a studio who laughed survey results off. The only reason I mention this however, is due to the fact Statistica and Consumer Insights work with the companies I mentioned.
Whilst I have never clicked with any GTA since the original, which I played by installing from a set of floppy disks on a school computer, I do intend to watch some footage and give this a shot if it feels as a story and playability package interesting.
I think after just growing up and then living in Stateside for a bit, and now back in the UK again, seeing them take on the extremes of the USA, and caricature them in a way just seems slightly off putting as a form of entertainment.
Had this come out when I was 25 years younger, I think it would have grabbed me a lot more. However, I am open minded to the idea this one could indeed be the one that breaks that cycle.
I will see what it plays like through others and I am eager to see what the story is providing, and I may become a part of the converted. However, no pre-order and just waiting to see from me.
For those that adore GTA 5, I see no reason why it wouldn't provide at least more of the same, so in that regard I am not remotely surprised at the interest for it being phenomenally high.
I'm just in the wait and see camp, but certainly not negative unless given a reason to be.
@D6rkLordS6t6n No worries at all, anytime. If you need a guide just let me know, I’ll link one here. But yeah, anyway, works a treat, just turn it back on normal mode for fussy sites that refuse to load properly.
@D6rkLordS6t6n Firefox, iOS strict/moderate mode, doesn’t allow any ads to load on any Hookshot sites.
Whilst I do plan to support them with a paid subscription, wanted to make it clear this works on iOS and Android, and I’m assuming there’s a strict mode on Safari and Chrome that works in a similar fashion.
But yes, anyway, I see no adverts, just a blank tile where it would otherwise load due to html formatting.
This is one thing I have always found "cheapens" the Xbox brand for me, when I use the Xbox One/Series dashboard ... just wow, the amount of advertisements "sponsors" and so on.
Now, wouldn't mind in the slightest if I were renting the console or in some way it was not mine, yet I don't expect to be receiving adverts on a console I have purchased out right.
In the store, yes, rather obviously, on the main boot up and rest mode of the console, no.
It is one of the reasons I have historically preferred PlayStation, it's felt like less "look at me, I want your attention, buy me!" behaviour.
However, now I have noticed PlayStation as a brand is certainly experimenting with changing what's pushed with the PS5, and it isn't feeling all that great.
Anything store, PS Plus, and overall rental/purchase screens I'm happy and expect to receive an advertisement.
On the overall welcome screen, scrolling through my games and so on, no. Because then it becomes a slippery slope of very Disney/Netflix/Prime solutions, whereby they introduce ads to then provide a solution for ridding of them.
This whole advertisement and marketing element is one thing as a developer they never approach us regarding or even discuss, for rather obvious reasons. So I literally know nothing about this, and that worries me ever so slightly. I don't want an £800 box paid for in cash to then have to pay an ever increasing fee to cut ads from.
I'm not saying that will happen, but I am saying if I were them and had their mindset (big suits at Sony), I would be pushing all of this front and centre.
But, thankfully I'm not them!
Now, as Sammy points out, this could go one of many ways, so rather than ramble on any more, I just hope this is a lesser intrusion than I can imagine moving forwards over the coming years.
I'd take out "no child of mine or relation will ever buy sony again", as it only weakens your point.
There is no way to possibly verify what your children or your relatives will go on to purchase in the future. It comes across as hyperbolic speculation.
Then also "anyone with a brain cell should be physical", then go on to point out the benefits of the very much, non-physical PC DRM free (presumably GoG) purchases.
Just thought it important to note that someone not buying a physical copy of a form of entertainment doesn't mean they lack brain cells, otherwise all the reviewers at Push Square are thick, as are all PC gamers, as is anyone that uses GamePass, PS Plus, as is anyone who buys a Game Key Card from Nintendo, a license on a disc from Xbox and the list goes on.
I agree with the sentiment of what you are saying, just thought I'd let you know, well, calling someone out for having a lack of brain cells and then expecting them to take you seriously is going to very much undermine any points that follow.
It would be like my saying "Wow, South African's really are quite simplistic and argumentative, hey, you, as a South African why don't you listen to my point!"*
*And I used that as a point to further what I read from your comments, not as in it's my personal belief regarding anyone from any country within Africa.
I'm going to pick this up on both PS5 and Switch 2, because I can't resist! Absolutely love the style of this so much! Really enjoyed the first game, so at the very least I know it shall provide me a much needed break between any "blockbuster" title.
@get2sammyb Do yourself a favour and get yourself an Analogue Pocket if you haven't already!
I totally get the appeal of this game though, looks so well done as far as an LCD screen of yesteryear, brings back some fond memories of days gone by in my youth.
I genuinely think I may pick this up, as I've not seen this quite done before.
"Here's when to see it first on Netflix" - never a thought past my mind that is what I would read regarding a game presentation and showcase in the near future.
Rockstar really are going all in on digital first as a priority, even showcasing their game on a platform that's helped to batter down the physical film landscape.
What an odd combination of sorts. Hope both companies get their pound of flesh for the partnership.
Anyway, despite having Netflix I'll very much not want them to take into account I have watched it there, so I'll slap it on YouTube later on that day or the following etc.
@Pat_trick Okay, stop it now! Otherwise the entire fact I’m bestirred by your linguistic decadence shall take reverence over my berating people in the comments.
Wait, I see what you did here. That’s your master plan all along, an architect of distraction in the effort to subdue! Haha.
Right, enough now, let’s carry on ripping one another apart! 😂
@For-Kier You make a good point that applies to many development teams as a whole.
This is why I’m not a fan of if the PS6 flops so do Sony.
Sony gets their money from sales, as we all know, get enough of those sales, and slow down and almost stop production of a PS6, and they will indeed recoup all costs incurred pushing the PS6 to the public.
A PS6 flopping just means PlayStation changes course, just like Nintendo with Wii U didn’t destroy Nintendo either.
Again, it’s the hyperbolic nature of attitudes that needs to change.
A PS5 mini, a PS5 like handheld and so on, all could easily refresh the line up, breathe new life into it if need be.
That’s why I don’t think Sony could be worried, with how much cross-generation games we will get during the PS5/PS6 era, a PS6 literally won’t be advertised as likely being needed, just “better”.
Sony want that digital money, they don’t give two flying figs if people buy a PS6. Short term they do of course, as in hope haha, but long term they know they’re going to be just fine even if PS5 was their last console for another decade.
@Pat_trick I just wanted to show appreciation for your use of “modicum”. Don’t see it used too often at all anymore in online chats! All for a flavourful use of the language.
@ShadowRJ I agree, I fear this may have long legs as a subject. I just hope some of the community come out of it from this site disliking the industry more than each other.
@ShadowRJ Exactly, see, and the same again, I agree.
But do you see how we inherently agree, yet you (or I, or your friends), choosing to use hyperbole is getting none of us anywhere?
Sony are making some bad decisions right now, too right there are, but that’s my issue, it’s then the hyperbole of oh I’m leaving them forever, oh I am going to PC, oh I’m going to Nintendo or Xbox etc.
It’s so dramatic. We can all dislike what some of these companies do without making it feel like we are a strong army who will bring them down.
We need to remember, we can love their products, but we shall never be loved back, by any of them.
Remember, for people like me (age 40), these companies like Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony were doing anti consumer things back around when I was born and through my childhood, it’s just I wasn’t aware.
So now as adults, we need to remember though we’ve all woken up to how these companies view us, how they view us hasn’t changed, it’s how we view them that has.
But that is going to be emotional, you, me, everyone will have emotions linked to that, as we all are collectively realising the entertainment we value has never valued us. That hurts.
But then we have to move past it. That’s not what I’m seeing. And that’s my only main point, we have to all collectively move to a point where we sing the praises of the joy we are getting from the hobby.
Because if all we do is sit there posting negative things online about our hobby, keep reiterating companies don’t value us, we are going to enter a point whereby the hobby becomes the complaining not the enjoying.
Like who is enjoying gaming more, my sister who boots up her console for 30 minutes each night after her shift at work, or me, you and others that spend time on here moaning about gaming?
I’m guilty too, but we need to keep ourselves in check and remember all we’ve done is discovered companies are exactly what they were when we were younger, we just don’t have rose tinted glasses and gaming magazines that barely wrote negative articles due to fear of losing review rights and thus market share.
@ShadowRJ It figures you’d defend Nintendo, can always spot one of those people a mile off.
So you stated your friends will give up gaming, but now you’re saying they may or may not, and then the most laughable part is you mention they may go to PC (costing a lot more than a PS6 estimated cost), to then go on to what? Collect physical games?
So they’re going to leave PlayStation in a huff to then go to another platform that hasn’t supported physical (as in new mass market), for years? To what, only buy on GoG, another company that doesn’t care and only monopolises on fools thinking they do care about their personal desires?
I mean really, has no one here owned an ran a business? No one worked in corporate I take it? We just all take what these companies say on face value?
Honestly it’s really worrying if that’s the case. So we know even GoG care about the money not the lack of DRM, otherwise they would have set up a charity and be supported by donations and hand out games without DRM for free. They want money, spotted a gap in the market.
So again, no different to every other major player in the market in that sense.
And you then state you’re aware gaming isn’t about collecting, yet only seem to have publicly stated that when challenged by myself.
Honestly, go back in your own comments. Every time you mention physical it’s alluding to your importance in the community because of it. How you’re more a serious and elitist gamer. That’s how you come across.
And you disagreeing Nintendo is less consumer friendly means you’ve turned a blind eye to them over decades and clearly won’t change your mind, so no need to discuss that is there.
I mean if you don’t see a problem, and an agenda and a real reason there should be concerns when a company worth billions wants influence over what a child grows up idolising then I have no further comment on that, other than when you said you could be seen as an ambassador for Sony, you’re anything but. Nintendo mind, wow. They own you don’t they.
I mean we even have your statement ending on agreeing with me, that all companies aren’t inherently good or bad and that they all want to make money as a bottom line.
So then we agree don’t we? Nintendo doesn’t care about you or physical, they care about their bottom line.
You are literally making forums posts on this site wondering why people are sharp with you, this is why!
You’re emotional reasoning behind pulling down Sony only to prop Nintendo up speaks volumes of how you don’t see companies for what they really are and who you are to them.
If you don’t dislike all of what Nintendo doesn’t do well, which is a lot, yet very clearly dislike a lot of Sony elements, you very, very clearly don’t know much about Nintendo.
They should all be disliked equally, in the respect they all see you as the same, a wallet. That is it.
@ShadowRJ So your friends who I assume would describe themselves as gamers, you believe it’s entirely likely they won’t ever visit gaming again and will give up one of their most loved passions?
Gaming is not and will never be about the collecting. Gaming is about gaming.
So yes, Sony is making sure people can’t collect their games physically after 2028, at no point is Sony stating they can’t continue to game.
Everyone makes these snap judgements and says these things within the community, yet it’s a community they hold dear or they wouldn’t be here.
Now if someone is willing in your friend group to give up modern gaming entirely due to not being able to keep a license on a disc on their shelf, they aren’t in this for gaming. That’s just a fact.
A gamer will find a way to continue gaming no matter what.
And yes, Nintendo is very different to Sony, in fact they’re a whole lot less consumer friendly than Sony. Yet my God, we bring up that argument with the crowd and it’s like ripping a band aid off a toddler.
If you’re a fan of Sony games and their ecosystem (like me), and a fan of Nintendo games (like me), you’re not going to just stop buying their digital games because you can’t have them physically.
Look at it this way, how stupid do I sound (wait for it I haven’t stated my point yet haha), if I say, right, vinyl and CD’s are stopping production next year.
So I’m going to stop listening to all new releases from all all the bands I support.
Well no, realistically we know that someone would then one way or another likely continue to support that music and listening to it in a new way, like streaming.
Would I be happy? Heck no! But I’d continue listening.
You being angry you’re losing out on the ability to buy a disc isn’t the same as you making the decision to stop all modern gaming from Sony moving forwards for the rest of your life. Again, that’s a very hyperbolic statement.
I mean do people really think people that prop up this industry financially (that’s people who buy digitally by the way), and the people not on these sites (that’s the majority by the way), care for most of this news?
You make some great points and I love physical too (as you know I’m collecting on Switch 2), but we need to remember the industry is going in one direction only.
Every day the cost of those Nintendo game cartridges continues to rise, and currently it costs, I think from memory around £15-17 for a publisher to buy one to then put a game on it (assuming 64GB).
Like you even mention predatory live services don’t survive much on Nintendo as a platform, whilst not pointing out Nintendo, like Sony and Xbox and Valve is the predator in this equation.
Nintendo even have an entire kids section meant for pre-schoolers where you get to “pick your Nintendo character”. It’s as transparent as a Happy Meal in what they are doing.
A man in a van giving kids sweets is what Nintendo do (as in a roundabout way in their marketing targeting young children).
We need to stop pretending there’s saviours or better companies out there. Sony and Nintendo and even Xbox all have the same goals and aspirations. It’s just that some are more transparent. Pick the best of the worst, enjoy it and that’s all we can do.
@ShadowRJ But if your friends aren’t bothering with PS6, that doesn’t negatively impact Sony, them not buying any Sony products, including digital games and DLC for PS5 would impact Sony.
In which case, unless jumping ship to another console maker planning the same, they will continue gaming.
No one in the world, literally no one, would need to buy a PS6, and all the R&D, manufacturering for the first wave of consoles and so on would be made back. We know this because they’ve already spent a large portion of that money and still in the green.
If people just stayed with PS5 Sony doesn’t lose money in the long term at all.
Same as if I don’t buy a Lexus, no one in the world buys a Lexus, but we all buy Toyota branded cars, that just means Toyota stop manufacturing Lexus in the future, but we still contribute to them.
@ilyn I’ve seen the toxicity element brought up a lot recently too, my only idea as to how it started being used is that a lot of like minded people on social media began to adopt it with one another.
I know of no one who actually just games, and doesn’t use gaming sites (so that’s the majority of gamers in the world), that sees any gaming brand as truly toxic.
In fact I know far more who see the communities as toxic and therefore avoid them. Just look at here, people take everything personally, call people a shill for the next week be defending another company within the same industry to high heaven.
And worst of it all, there’s this sense of importance, when the majority of gamers genuinely don’t even visit sites like this.
I have the same thoughts as yourself, this impacts Sony very little to zero, and that doesn’t discount what people here feel, but it discounts the hyperbolic points made to prop up those feelings.
Feelings can exist without needing to justify them as such, we don’t all need to agree that Sony will crumble and go bankrupt to acknowledge the fact they made a boo boo that impacts a few people, which are in their right to be confused or upset.
Not moving past this as a community is what shall bring the community down, not Sony or PlayStation.
Same for Game Key Cards on Nintendo, same with Valve pushing PC gaming digital only.
We can all collectively agree that it’s a shame for some without us all agreeing it’s going to destroy companies with larger cash flows than some smaller countries.
Genuinely had it in my mind more Capcom purchases were physical. Oddly mine have been on every console other than PS5, so I’m skewing it the digital way on PS5, yet physical on other consoles.
Just somehow imagine fans of Capcom being more physical orientated somehow. Strange I even think it to be honest. Maybe my days selling Resi on PlayStation in a store in my adolescence stuck with me haha.
@ShadowRJ I wouldn’t go around admitting to be an ambassador to a brand just because you collect a companies license on a disc.
An ambassador for a brand gets paid, like PlayStation Access staff.
You’re basically admitting to shill for a company, meanwhile your entire disc based army were calling everyone else that not long ago.
You like collecting things that mean nothing when you die, take physical stock away from parents in the future that may be looking for a cheap option, and preserving them. When we all know you don’t plan on sharing them with the community in any way shape or form.
You’re putting artificial importance on someone just because they collect cheap tat that a company pushes out. There really needs to be a realisation with people that collecting doesn’t make you a bigger fan of a company, it makes you a collector, someone who likely has ADHD, OCD, blah blah.
That’s it.
Someone who purchases cinema tickets and brings home nothing physical can be a much bigger film buff than someone who buys all the Fast And Furious films on bluray.
If your opinion mattered more because of your physical gaming habits, Sony would have asked you for it.
Seeing as they haven’t asked any of us. We can assume they care just as much about all our opinions equally.
Again, I know English isn’t your first language, but if you’re going to insult me, without even knowing me, try first doing so without managing to make a fool out of yourself.
I am not even remotely close to ignorant, and the person “liking” your comments only likely enjoys flaming just as much as you.
Choose to have a sensible debate, or accept the fact you’ll be the laughing stock of the town hall.
And please, for the love of God, don’t try to insult someone and in the first sentence fail to even use the correct, your/you’re.
And no, Sony did not go “almost bankrupt” during the PS3 “debacle”.
So, before I put you on ignore, let’s get one thing crystal clear, you need to focus on speaking an opinion, not an insult, otherwise you will not be listened to.
You’re opening line was an insult, which as stated technically was more of a faux pas towards yourself than I.
You’re doing the equivalent of walking in to a pub, blind drunk, slurring your words, blaming a random bloke for all your woes and then expecting him to pay for your taxi home.
I care not for your plight, as you’ve made it abundantly clear you care not to have a conversation that resembles anything remotely worth discussing.
So, homework, learn your vs you’re and learn about bankruptcy and how to read a companies published financial details.
@Random_play05 See, and unlike what the other chap who clearly is only just finding out what the word “ignorance” means in English, and using it incorrectly … we’ve hit a mark whereby we agree!
I completely agree physical items to hold and cherish are so much stronger emotionally, and in memory than digital. It’s why I collect film, music and TV on physical. Well, that and of course the improvements in quality.
But I genuinely completely agree. That’s the issue with many here, they see a counter point and think that person is trying to destroy their very existence. Yet it’s what is supposed to be a board of opinions for adults, so we are all going to agree, disagree and everything in between at times.
I think what many here truly want is a PA that just is paid to agree with them.
As you and I have proven, talking things out leads to more common ground than people seem to realise.
If your passion for gaming is even remotely as strong as it seems, you’ll find more things to love and adore within it. Like how I collected Amiibo despite up until recently not even having a Switch! Ha.
Just carry on gaming, but in a way that works for you, and try to find things that help fill the physical void. I don’t have an answer for that bit yet, but I’m sure we shall find it eventually. Somehow, somewhere.
@Flaming_Kaiser I’d rather be ignorant to your point of view, than incapable of stringing together a sentence correctly.
Just because I don’t keep waving a flag in support of every opinion here doesn’t mean I disagree, I actually agree with many a person here.
Your ignorance of understanding an adult can want to point out nuances, other points of view and debate, yet still understand someone’s point of view, without the need to repeatedly claim it so, that’s real ignorance right there.
Your claiming my ignorance, whilst coming across as ignorant is truly quite the example of what this site has turned into.
Remember, someone stating an opposing opinion or wishing to debate a conflicting viewpoint does not necessarily lack understanding of the point for which they debate against.
I suggest you block me if you truly believe I’m ignorant, that way you can genuinely remain, well, how would say you?
@Flaming_Kaiser I think regarding Sony not informing people of what to do, as in how to play their old catalogue come PS6 time, they’ve made it quite clear.
Much like Nintendo with Switch, or Sony with PS4, if you want to play previous generation games you keep your old console.
Excluding PC, back when I grew up you simply assumed you’d play current gen on current gen hardware and previous gen on previous gen hardware.
Then in decades to come you hoped someone had a working machine to sell if you broke yours, it broke naturally as such and so on.
This whole concept of what to do with PS5 games is a none issue to most who’ve been gaming a while. It’s clear what to do with them, you use your PS5 games in your PS5.
On the lack of communication, yes, I think Sony have dropped the ball and seriously could have done with verifying some things and clarifying the path forward.
However, that aside I’d say it’s best to always assume if you buy a console and its games, you are buying the console, and the game, for that console and that game. That is it.
The worst thing companies could have done is allow backwards compatibility, because now the moment that may not be the case consumers see it as a loss, when it was never actually in existence previously, and sometimes goes.
Look at N64, my cartridges didn’t stop working, there wasn’t an uproar, people simply bought the GameCube and got over it. Life moved on.
@Random_play05 But you can still game! That’s my point!
Let me guess, is your only point you just want to buy cheaper second hand games that support Sony in no way shape or form, yet you want them to support you in all ways possible?
And every country is suffering from basic amenities going up and up, there’s record people in debt right now in the UK to electricity, gas and councils. Literally never before seen levels of debt.
But the fact still remains that isn’t Sony’s responsibility to pander to, or cater for, or care about. They’re a for profit company that wants to make a profit, and more each year.
Same as you, I, all of us want more money each year in our bank despite in some cases only existing and continuing to work being the offer we are making in return.
You can still game, if your point is simply you want to game, you could do with it digital purchases when on sale.
If you can not afford that, you’re out of continuing gaming with future generations of Sony.
Same for me, I can’t afford a Ferrari, or another fancy car that costs close to half a million after insurance and so on. But that’s the point, I can still drive, I just go for another car.
You can still game, you don’t have to stop gaming. Game on a console or device of choice and purchase when on sale, even if you play releases years after they come out, so what?
The game will be no worse for it. Just enjoy gaming and don’t allow Sony to take up any space in your head. Honestly, no company is worth the time or effort hating them.
@PanFriedSoup He's just commenting on the absurdity to say someone HATES a corporation when it really doesn't serve either party in any meaningful way.
Literally that, thank you for putting it so much clearer than I!
@tdolla2000 I get to share my opinion, just the same as everyone else. The difference is I say a spade is a spade, other's rather pander for "likes".
My opinion you don't agree with, whilst you swoop in defending a stranger online doesn't hold any less value than theirs.
You see, this is a website where we are meant to share opinions, therefore, my opinion may differ, as will theirs and that is okay.
All my issue was at the time was with the use of hate, as in the actual emotion is the opposite to love, and a really strong emotion. I don't want anyone to feel they're harbouring that strong of an emotion towards a business that literally exists to make money, that's it.
A person having such strong feelings towards an inanimate object, say a fork for example, it provides them great comfort in eating, they find it very useful, it's a daily part of their life. However, to then go on to have that fork changed, but literally have hate for it, that says a lot about the person holding those emotions.
It's not healthy for people to be thinking of these companies with this much emotion, it's really misplaced emotion that needs managing.
All three major players wouldn't care if we live or die tomorrow, none of them, so why give them any human credit of even deserving to take up so much free rental space in our minds?
Like why give Sony time in your head if they don't do the same for you? This isn't a 30 year marriage, it's a business, that doesn't care for humanity, making a profit year on year, regardless of if you exist.
If someone has the power to love and hate and to dwell on things, at least make it something bettering humanity, or their own life. I mean hell, take up crotchet before you go after hating a company.
@PanFriedSoup I'm just so confused why you come to a gaming site like this, which actually used to have some self respect about it, some thought, some intelligence and balance.
Yet now it comes across like I'm reading comments regarding EastEnders on Mumsnet.
@Enuo And you still can play video games, playing video games and collecting discs are two different activities, that can, but don't have to go hand in hand.
@Random_play05 Hate? So you're putting them in the same regard as people like Hitler, or other genocidal maniacs of which I'm sure you have a hatred for.
I mean surely you could just dislike a companies decision, get over it, move on, don't interact with its fan sites and continue on your life.
Hate is a strong emotion to ever feel for a company that literally doesn't know you exist, nor cares ... and never has.
EDIT: And to add, I don't use PureXbox, as in participate, but it would be like me not liking Xbox as a brand, which I don't, to then go on their fan site and keep saying it. Just literally leave the brand behind, do yourself a favour and don't worry about hating any company, they're as close to useless as hating as a spoon.
@dodgykebaab Quite a few things, have you not travelled or lived anywhere other than the UK? Surely you’re aware of the differences and how surprise surprise, there’s positives and negatives to many a country.
There’s literally nothing I have in the UK that I didn’t have in America, so then literally anything America offered in addition was more than, not less than.
Same with people who throw around the abortion argument. Of course, I want my wife to have body autonomy. However, the States in which we lived abortion was legal.
So I’m just confused as to why an average Brit would think they have less rights and abilities in many other countries than they do here in the UK, there’s so many more restrictions on what I do and how I do it compared to America.
I can’t even bulk buy ibuprofen in the UK as a 40 year old bloke, because God forbid I’m one of the few people the world that’s managed to consume enough in one go to kill myself. So many of our laws and regulations impact our lives so much more than I ever felt intruded upon in Spain, America and a few other locations.
Us Brits need to be more like our French counterparts and realise they work for us. I mean we even tax sugary items instead of concentrating on educating younger children to be responsible.
So we tax the fat people yet don’t care to teach them how to not get fat in the first place. It’s all just so ridiculous.
You can do so much more on your land, in your home, go shooting easier if that’s your thing, you can actually have freedom of speech (not something the English constitution has by the way).
I mean the list is endless. Britain has lots of great and much better elements to it. Like UK food, far better, food standards, far better.
For example in the UK milk and eggs actually taste like milk and eggs.
But as far as freedoms and rights and ways of life, Britain is so far behind many a country around the world.
Just travel more, and you’ll see, if you open your mind up to the cultures you’re experiencing there’s a lot, lot more options than the one Britain chooses on many a way of life that works!
It’s a very good question, in the sense of the game world I’ve loved delving into the most. Very good in the sense it’s actually made me realise that after all this time none come to mind!
Favourite games, definitely, game worlds? Two very different set of answers. I loved Mario 64 to the point I’d play it most days for years growing up, but that world as such isn’t even much more than an empty carcass for the most part.
Ratchet and Clank, Marathon, Destiny and a few others I have played in recent memory really speak to me design language wise, the world that’s possible from them. With those three mentioned I think more about what could be possible in those amazing worlds artistically and thematically rather than the actual game story provided. So I’d say them most recently.
I think the rather flatline response to Halo on PS5 is simply down to common sense logic (I know right, who would have thought those words would be used on a gaming centric site).
It’s a beloved game, I have now bought it on PS5 as a nostalgic purchase, I shall no doubt be in the few, not many that warrant such a purchase when the gaming landscape is already flooded with more games than money to spend and hours in a day for most.
Then everyone else that wanted to play, yet don’t care to pick this up, will have likely played it over the years.
Yes, of course, the same could be said for CoD, but CoD has such a metric ***** load more of a following it’s rather insane to think of actually.
So yes, none of this is surprising, and I don’t even find it that sad, most of my friend group after all aren’t “missing out” by not playing it on PS5, they simply played it on Xbox years ago and are past it.
I’ll keep my little boxed copy as a keepsake, just so I can remind myself of what a flip flopping, mind altering drug Xbox leadership have been on over the years.
Do find it hilarious that simple ports beat out a much adored game that’s changed engines and had a fresh lick of paint though.
@Dogbreath That’s the way I think of it, when I say I’ll buy a PS6 for myself and my partner, it’s not as if that lump sum needs to be found, it’s already there.
If I saved just £5 a week, over 7 years (no interest), just saving that a week is £1,820 by the end of those 7 years.
I don’t think people quite grasp the fact that those kind of sums of money really are very possible for those that want it. £5 a week should be doable as a saving for those who having gaming as a hobby in their life.
If someone can’t save that £5 a week, it means they will understandably not be able to prioritise frivolous luxury items until they can.
I’ve had times in my life where I’ve fallen on my backside and had to live off soup or bread for weeks, dropped weight to the point I’ve worried those that saw me and during that time the last thing on my mind was whether or not I could afford a console.
Can’t wait for this! I did want to play it with my partner, yet wanted it on S2. So may get it on PlayStation so we can share one digital copy, then get it physically on Switch 2 so I can just chill and play it without any potential Portal issues portably.
How I wish Nintendo would allow me to buy one digital copy and have anyone on two consoles play at the same time across the board as long as my account is active. I think there may be a workaround but I’m not sure!
But, Sony beats them in that regard, so Sony will be getting the digital money!
He’s actually spoken a lot about losing weight, getting more athletic rather than visibly “strong” and feeling far better for it. He’s been really rather public about how he feels so much more healthier.
So whilst I think “why not have him give it a shot”. I’m not sure he would want to do it if it meant him bulking up again to then contractually have to potentially bulk up or remain bulked for say season 2 or 3 etc.
Granted, a lot can be done in post, but at that point you might as well hire talent that’s already there physically for the most part.
Either way, it’s a TV show based on a video game, that’s based loosely on a game developers interpretation of myths, created by a company that specialises in wholesale selling and shipping.
So I’m not going to take this project too seriously until I’m shown footage.

Re: 'Discs Don't Really Make Sense': GTA 6 Boss Says 'Sony Understands That' as It Kills Physical Games
Re: PS5 Is the USA's Most Popular Console, and It's Not Particularly Close
@kmtrain83 "To be fair, many people also confused ..."
I feel that comment could be valid for a lot of things I witness in life haha.
Re: PS5 Is the USA's Most Popular Console, and It's Not Particularly Close
Good laugh for a Friday afternoon though!
Re: GTA 6 Pre-Orders Are 'Exceptional' So Far, Says Take-Two Boss
Re: Quake Adds Free 30th Anniversary Campaign for All PS5 Players, Developed by MachineGames
Well, that’s me sold! I’ll make sure to get this played soon!
Now all I need is a new Quake and Unreal Tournament. A guy can dream, I guess.

@D6rkLordS6t6n No worries at all, anytime. If you need a guide just let me know, I’ll link one here. But yeah, anyway, works a treat, just turn it back on normal mode for fussy sites that refuse to load properly.
Re: Sony's Looking to Bring More Ads to PlayStation, and Fans Won't Like It
@D6rkLordS6t6n Just to add I literally haven’t seen adverts on any website for over a year of using it. So that works!
Re: Sony's Looking to Bring More Ads to PlayStation, and Fans Won't Like It
@D6rkLordS6t6n Firefox, iOS strict/moderate mode, doesn’t allow any ads to load on any Hookshot sites.

Re: Sony's Looking to Bring More Ads to PlayStation, and Fans Won't Like It
@Nightcrawler71 Exactly that, didn't see your comment as I was typing, but exactly as you state.
Re: Sony's Looking to Bring More Ads to PlayStation, and Fans Won't Like It
This is one thing I have always found "cheapens" the Xbox brand for me, when I use the Xbox One/Series dashboard ... just wow, the amount of advertisements "sponsors" and so on.
Re: Halo Made Its PS5 Debut, So Now It's Time for Xbox to Lay Off the Team That Made It
@MakaZA Two points:
Re: This Sequel to One of PS5's Secret Best Indie Games Deserves a Better Release Date
I'm going to pick this up on both PS5 and Switch 2, because I can't resist! Absolutely love the style of this so much! Really enjoyed the first game, so at the very least I know it shall provide me a much needed break between any "blockbuster" title.
Re: This May Be the Best Looking PS5 Game I've Ever Seen, And It's Out Next Week
Re: GTA 6 PS5 Gameplay Coming This Month, Here's When to See It First on Netflix
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
@Pat_trick I just wanted to show appreciation for your use of “modicum”. Don’t see it used too often at all anymore in online chats! All for a flavourful use of the language.
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
@ShadowRJ I agree, I fear this may have long legs as a subject. I just hope some of the community come out of it from this site disliking the industry more than each other.
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
That is it.
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Re: With Digital Game Sales at 90%, Capcom Appears Unfazed By Sony's Disc-Free Future
Which is to say they don’t care.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@darylb24 I like that term, it sounds cute! Haha. Inoffensive too, well, at least seems it!
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@Flaming_Kaiser You’re, not your.
You are the weakest link, goodbye.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@XenonKnight Haha, I love how pin sharp you are. Nothing gets past you.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
Ignorant.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@PanFriedSoup He's just commenting on the absurdity to say someone HATES a corporation when it really doesn't serve either party in any meaningful way.
Literally that, thank you for putting it so much clearer than I!
And agreed on all else said of course.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@Snick27
"Already left Sony as I bought a PC yesterday.."
Did you need help finding the PC Gamer web address? I think you're lost.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@PanFriedSoup I'm just so confused why you come to a gaming site like this, which actually used to have some self respect about it, some thought, some intelligence and balance.
Yet now it comes across like I'm reading comments regarding EastEnders on Mumsnet.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@colt45z Thanks buddy, not sure I need your permission, but shall do regardless of it!
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@colt45z Ahh, trying to be funny and melodramatic simultaneously ... I'll let you have a guess at which one you achieved.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
@Enuo And you still can play video games, playing video games and collecting discs are two different activities, that can, but don't have to go hand in hand.
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
Re: Disc-Based PS5s Now Warn Buyers About the Impending Death of Physical Games
At least Sony have literally spelt it out for those that needed it in another form.
Re: EA's Controversial $55 Billion Buyout to Close Next Week
Re: Video: What Are Your Favourite Video Game Worlds?
Re: Halo's No Match for Activision's Barebones Digital-Only Black Ops PS5 Ports
Re: These New Xbox Prices Are Truly Terrifying for PS6
Re: Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush Highlights Its Open World Islands in New PS5 Gameplay Trailer
Either way, can not wait!
Re: Ex-Wrestler Dave Bautista in Talks to Take Over from Ryan Hurst as Kratos in God of War TV Show
He’s actually spoken a lot about losing weight, getting more athletic rather than visibly “strong” and feeling far better for it.
