Releasing later this week after years of promising tests and betas, Arc Raiders is potentially a title you will play more on the next-gen PS6 than the current PS5.
Rumours suggest Sony is preparing for a new console in 2027 or 2028, and Arc Raiders studio Embark is going big with its next project by seeing it as a "10-year game" that it'll support with a "pretty ambitious post-launch" plan. Following in the footsteps of Destiny team Bungie, which also saw itself supporting its looter-shooter for a decade, it's a bold move backed up by the positive chatter surrounding the release.
Firstly, in a TwitchCon interview last week (via MP1ST), design director Virgil Watkins said that internally at Embark, the title is seen as "a 10-year game", and it has some immediate content after launch locked in. After that, a lot of what happens next will be based on how successful the launch is.
In another interview, executive producer Aleksander Grondal explained some of the new content includes "maps and arcs and quests and and all things new systems and things. We have a pretty ambitious post-launch plan for the game, and we'll see."
