I don't know why people think all will be exclusive. Some will, some won't. MS is smart enough to know money comes first, and if they think they will make more if its also on PS5 it will be.
Besides the big games like starfield(or what ever its called) and elder scrolls are most likely late 2022 games at least, so no rush to dump ps5 preorders for that. Get the ps5 and save a few bucks a month for the next few years till they are released then get an xbox as well.
But what happens if the S version makes up 90% of the sales? Do game makers really want to spend a lot of effort adding things for the X version if the masses are using the S? X owner could end up with less games pushing their system to the limits if devs target S specs.
As for the game prices, I will continue to buy digital only, never right as it launches and on sale for over 45% off. Im in no rush so I'm ok waiting for a steep discount. This is why I'm going digital only system.
I'm always annoyed when people use digital foundry to defend why a game is better. When I watched their videos and they say "If we crop in 300% you can see how muddy the texture looks in comparison..." Then people say "aha its so much better looking I'm glad I got that system" Like anybody plays it zoomed in.
It's fine for tech comparison but they way people use it to defend their choice is sickening at times.
None of this matters. At the end of the day each buyer will decide if the price is right for the games they want. It doesn't matter when the reveal is. Would you really not buy a ps5 because you are pissed they didn't reveal the price soon enough after ms did?
I only have one disc, rdr2, and that was because it was a gift. I get all my games online during sales. I'm not a day one or preorder buyer of games. So I'm good with a digital version.
@TVRFLY My understanding is that the 8k will mostly be future proofing for video. But hearing how we may not even get 4k 60fps in AC:Valhalla don't expect 8k games to be a norm or even worth it. 4k tv are cheaper now so get a good big one of those instead.
I don't see the hype more than an assasin creed game. Odyssey was my first ac game and just finished it days ago and this looks almost exactly like a samurai version of it. I'm not saying that's a bad thing,I love the theme. But really didn't see it do anything really that separates it from ac aside from theme. I'm looking forward to it since I enjoyed AC and this looks like more of it.
The language is a mess here in the Asia store. There is always two separate versions and what's worse, sometimes only the non English version goes on sale. Heck sometimes you can't find the English version for a game designed in English primarily. I never understood why it is not one version with all languages.
This hurts casual gamers. If you can sit and play for hours daily, no problem. But if like me, busy and only get time here and there you will constantly get lost because you will forget the landscape. Unless there is an option for them, I'm out.
Big problem is reviewers will say this is great because they do in fact often burn through a game playing many hours in a row for days. They won't understand that if you spend months playing you forget details of the world because they didn't have time to forget.
I want selective updates. I don't want games I don't plan on playing for a while, yet still installed, to keep updating (like rrd2). Right now I have it set to only system updates in rest mode, but I want to select which other games get updated as well.
All these specs won't mean a thing till we see an open world game side by side on both systems. Boot up is nice to be fast, but loading assets mid game with no pop in or stutter may be avoided with the systems bandwidth bump and ssd speed together.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Will Have Microtransactions, Says Developer
I don't understand why people pay for skins in first person pov games.
Re: Oh No, There's More Modern Day Stuff in Assassin's Creed Valhalla Than the Two Previous Games
Why not just have special stones to touch to access them. And if we hate them we simply never touch the stones and enjoy the rest of the game.
Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 for a Brand New PS5 Game?
I never buy pre-order or day one. I always wait for big psn sales. That's why I will get the digital only ps5.
Re: Xbox Is Pushing for Free Next-Gen Upgrades, And That's Good News for PS5
Free upgrades and pay for remasters can both exist.
Free upgrade is for faster booting, frame rate and res.
Paid remaster will take advantage of that and include raytracing, controller features, ssd speed to make world more complex etc.
Re: PSVR Snags First PS5 Project, No Plans for Low-Fi on PS4
Ps4 + psvr= ps3 visual quality.
Ps5 + psvr= ps4 visual quality?
Re: Gallery: PS5's Design Is Unorthodox But Unforgettable
I like it. When vertical, it does integrate the V for 5 into the design and that's slick.

No super powers please. The SR mindset can easily say it was all a dream and have them wake up after SR2.

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced During Sony's PS5 Deep Dive Reveal?
That's it, I'm not getting a ps5 and selling my ps4. I'd rather get a system with worse games but better flops.

Good riddance. What a waste of paper. I don't even use toilet paper in the bathroom, that's what kindles are for.
