Re: Review: Not a Hero (PS4)

Artie

I beta tested for the pc release of this and really enjoyed it overall. I'm a bit disappointed in the cancellation of the Vita version. I know they had technical issues that prevented it, but that was my platform of choice for this. With Crypt of the Necrodancer coming out same day with the promised Vita version in tow, I think I'm buying Crypt.

Re: People Are Having Real Problems Paying with Credit Cards on the PlayStation Store

Artie

@Link41x It has to be a known issue. I know I personally called Sony with this issue and was told to use prepaid cards. Their "solution" for their crappy service not working properly is overspend on non-refundable currency cards. I don't want to spend $20 on a prepaid card. I'm an adult. I want to spend $11.99 on my debit card like an adult. They even told me to go to Amazon because they would send me the code instantaneously! Like as instantaneous as taking the money from my account and starting my download?

Re: Castlevania Successor Bloodstained Sets a Record on Kickstarter

Artie

I backed it and plan on putting my new baby boy's name in the credits (Seems he'll be around 2 when it comes out). Here's hoping they hit their last goal of $5.5 million. Boss rampage is the reward. Boss rushes are a staple of the newer Igavanias, so I really want it to reach that goal. That being said, Igarashi never made a Castlevania at Konami for anything remotely close to $5 million...far, FAR less than that actually. This better be the best one ever.

Re: Indie Games Rule in May PlayStation Plus Freebies Roster

Artie

I will say that I enjoy supporting indie developers. Titan Souls, Hotline Miami, Rogue Legacy and more...I paid for them because I knew I'd enjoy the product and that indie devs need money to grow. However my friends don't see the point in paying for indies and actually ignore indies I'm excited for because "I'll check it out when it's free on PS+." This combined with the fact that they are often right and you get the games for free in a matter off months have made me question whether or not I should start doing that too. It's hard to ignore the money I'm spending to support devs when money is tight and it's all to often free shortly after.

Re: Review: La-Mulana EX (PlayStation Vita)

Artie

It is tough as nails, but for fans of Metroidvania platformers need to play this. It's the most atmospheric game since Super Metroid or Symphony of the Night. It actually made me feel like I was slowly unraveling the deeply hidden secrets of an actual ruins sight. The lore and story of the ruins is told to you similarly to Metroid Prime (you use a hand scanner on tablets, walls, hieroglyphics...everything really). The more you scan, the more you get what's going on and what happened.

Re: Sony Making Final Arrangements for March PlayStation Plus Freebies

Artie

I have a feeling that La-Mulana EX will be a vita igc entry.

Rising Star games tweeted this this morning.
"Date announced tomorrow and it's really soon Keep an eye on PS Blog!"

My reasoning is it's an indie, but not in the spring sale...and they are late on announcing igc...and he says the date will be announced tomorrow on the PS blog and that the date is very soon.

Re: Square Enix Wants Dragon Quest Heroes to Venture onto Western PS4s and PS3s

Artie

I think chances are higher because of it being handled by Tecmo-Koei in addition to SE. We don't usually miss out on Omega Force games, and Square-Enix would love that money and to troll DQ fans that really want anything at this point. They might even use that awful "testing the waters for fan reception" excuse with a title that won't kill them financially as it's not exactly developed by them, merely licensed.

Re: Fighting Game Champs Duke It Out in PS4 Console Exclusive Street Fighter V

Artie

Yeah, that omega was ridiculous. In regards to the speed, I can see this being left alone to pave way for the inevitable super, turbo and hyper editions, which will more than likely be multi-platform. PS4 is the testing platform. Just an opinion based on my armchair perceptions of the series and industry trends these last few years.

Re: Review: Rogue Legacy (PlayStation 4)

Artie

@HeroOfCybertron I think if you thought about that question, you'd have your answer.

I can't wait for this! It let me download it already from preorder, but says I can't play til 11:00pm my time...grr...I get up at 6:00 am tomorrow for work!
