Clair Obscur is going to mop up in most categories and the dev honestly deserves it. So much attention to detail in that game it’s essentially a reference game for me rather than the cut and paste approach we’ve seen in the last few years.
Both fantastic games and both scratch different itches. Never will understand why people have to love one game and hate the other automatically and form tribes over it.
I agree with her but I’ve always thought this and have never liked the practice. Microsoft only think this now because it suits them which has always been their strategy. Whichever way the wind blows at any given point in time. A far cry from their strategy at the start of this generation to buy up developers for the very purpose of exclusivity.
Nobody needs to justify why they did or didn’t buy the Pro. Just own your decision. You don’t need validation, and neither does anyone else. Buying it or not buying it are both perfectly valid choices. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure and all that.
Same logic applies to the PS6 funnily enough. Buy it or don’t buy it - Thou shalt not be judged!
@Th3solution I am also a sucker like you. I like new tech. I wouldn’t care if it was a year away until PS6 I would have still bought the Pro. I think it’s great personally and looks nicer than the PS5.
I replay everything to death too so I am fully leveraging the benefits of pro enhanced games.
I’m all for this. People should play games however they want. There are too many gatekeepers who seem to need validation from making things harder for others even for trophies. If someone wants to enjoy the story, experiment, or just relax without grinding, let them.
Never bothered me and it shouldn’t bother anyone else how people play their games. Games are filled with such bloat these days that getting rid of some of the time barriers is a good thing for some. If people want to just experience the story without the challenge then let them.
It’s essentially like having different levels of difficulty so who cares. Play games how you want folks as long as you enjoy it that’s why it’s a hobby!
I love the game, the mechanics were great, the story parts that were fleshed out were great but the fact that’s it’s unfinished does leave me bitter. I still play it every so many green because what’s there is genuinely enjoyable but it could have been a true masterpiece had it been given the time it needed in the oven.
I’ve been playing it a couple of days now and performance has been fine. Might be too early to tell yet but so far so good for me and I’m playing on the Pro.
DF’s analysis isn’t the be all end all. Doesn’t mean it will perform badly for everyone so I don’t know why people are getting so bent out of shape about it especially if you haven’t tried it. For those who are waiting for a patch fair enough, if it bothers you that much then that’s the right call but for some of us it seems to be working fine and that’s ok too.
The only complaint I have so fair is how jarring the old voice acting is with the new visuals. I’m still enjoying it but it’s just…weird…
They need to allow a little playtime because the game could be unplayable etc. I guess the way to prevent people finishing short games would be to potentially use the trophies? If there is a way for developers to set a particular trophy as a game completion trophy and you have it then you can’t refund. I think this only affects a small subset of games though for it to be even worth it.
I can’t remember playing anything I’ve bought for less than two hours even games I’ve ended up putting down.
@DreadfulDragon for the record I agree their games are safe bet and you are entitled to your opinion. I just don’t agree with your belittling people who enjoy it thinking you are on a higher intellectual plane for avoiding.
I don’t care about Ubisoft or your opinion of their games I just don’t like people like you with your derogatory comments thinking you are better than everyone else.
No issues for me or any of my mates. More than likely a ventilation issue rather than the game itself. One of my mates PS died playing Chivalry 2 last week several times so with the heat and poor ventilation that is the likely cause. These types of articles always get me when the evidence is so thin.
@PlasmaticSnake most complaining about performance issues are probably the ones who haven’t played it. The game runs superbly on fidelity mode. I was a 60 FPS minimum snob up until I played Spider-Man on PS5 and realised that some games 30 really works with. I can’t play Spider-Man at 60 anymore because it doesn’t feel as realistic. Frame pacing is just as important as high frame rate.
@__jamiie I’m the same - I’m waiting until there is a consistent flow of games and then maybe I will pick one up but it does worry me the way they have dropped stuff in the past.
@BAMozzy I'm not sure if this is accurate (correct me if I'm wrong though!). I have had to play all of the Fable Games on GamePass on my Xbox because it wasn't available on PC Gamepass. Not even the cloud option. I think this mostly applies but in some cases you cannot play the console games on PC.
@BAMozzy free and subscription don't fall under the same sentence. I hate that I pay for Amazon Prime Video and they have a section that says "free for you". It wouldn't be "free" if I didn't pay the sub. Same with my GamePass sub. I pay for it so none of it is freely available. Only if I cough up those dimes.
Glad it's reviewed well. It's a top game and I hope to see more ports over to PC. A lot of my mates have PC's (I do too but I'm a tech fiend so buy everything...)and it would be good for them to enjoy these amazing exclusives.
It's always nice to have an option in where to play. I finished Dragon Age Origins recently and it played like ***** on the Xbox Series X (fugly) but tried it on PC and the difference was world's apart. PC gamers need access to these games so they can play how they want to play too. The XSX and PS5 are limited still which is why we are offered fidelity/performance modes. PC players can have both and not have to compromise.
I went through a phase of platinuming as much as I could. Then I realised it was driving my behaviour on where I played games and how I played them. The start of this year I made a decision to ditch them and honestly I play more variety of games and I play them the way I want to play them rather than chasing a "checklist". Of course if that's your thing then that's great but since I stopped it's unlocked gaming for me on another level.
I played and completed Chronotrigger recently and I don't think I would have done if I was chasing trophies.
I see a lot of people saying they are not buying products from Activision again and where I applaud the passion there is this level of exploitation and worse around the globe in places like China. May as well put your game controller down and remove the chips from your consoles and the battery from your devices. There's probably a lot that we use on a daily basis that are some part of an exploitation case. I'm not saying we should ignore this but it would be naive to think that stopping supporting Activision and Blizzard is stopping the problem. The industry needs to do a lot more.
@get2sammyb agree with this. I'm enjoying what I'm playing but there's a lot of room for improvement. And that that damn rain! I hope they have a disable weather effects option in the next patch. I completed GTA3 at the weekend but I'll wait for the first patch before starting on VC.
I've not had any of the frame drops tbf. I've started with GTA3 though so not sure if it's on a per game basis. But Jesus the rain is awful. I went to bed on Thursday night with a headache and i didn't know why. I saw the next day that there was an article on here about the rain giving players headaches 😩
If I could turn that off that would be a big improvement for me. Right now it looks like a billion space invader laser beams hitting the ground...
@torne 100% with you. Bugs used to be seen as funny in games too. I'll never forget the Skyrim bug I had where the NPC's would drop through the floor when I tried to talk to them! 😂
I had one in GTA where one of the hookers I had to pick up had no feet. 😁
The point is the bugs need to be fixed of course but some need to just need to lighten up.
@kingbreww Judging by your previous comments your response is as expected. For someone who holds quality in such high regard I expected a full stop at the end of your sentence. But hey, I'm not one to boast...

Seriously get off your high horse. Some people just crack on with life a don't let little hiccups make them ***** their pants on the Internet. I've been playing it and yes it has bugs but it isn't unplayable.
