Re: Soapbox: This Is Why Physical Games Are Still Important to Me

-CraZed-

I'm pretty much all digital at this point, but I really don't want to see physical media (not just games btw)go away. It's just one less choice for the consumer which can't really be good for gaming overall.
Plus physical games has a special place in my heart tbh.
Physical games allowed me to buy sell and trade to afford newer games when I was younger and couldn't afford to outright buy new games. I used to rent my games as well. Although that's basically nonexistent anymore.
Digital has made buying games more convenient for sure. I just hope the publishers don't give up on physical anytime soon.

Re: Ex-Guerrilla Producer Rips Butthurt PlayStation Fans Over Horizon PC Port

-CraZed-

I think the sentiment comes from the fact that someone spent money on a console because they knew that was the only place to play the games in developers' catalogues and genres they care for. Only to then have them release games on another platform that will most likely offer a better experience on more powerful hardware.
Not everyone can afford to own multiple gaming platforms or capable PCs so they buy ONE platform and that's where they invest their limited time/funds.
Knowing you could have saved the money on your console purchase and put it towards say, a capable gaming rig, you could play those same console games at better frame rates with better visuals.
Also, if you purchased the game and you DO own a PC you're most certainly going to have to repurchase the game should you wish to play there.
I can play games anywhere. I a PS4, a Switch and a gaming PC. Why don't I own an Xbox? Don't need it. If Sony puts all of it's first party games on PC I won't need a PS console either.

Re: Review: The Order: 1886 (PlayStation 4)

-CraZed-

@get2sammyb Best review of the game I have read so far this morning. Why? You actually focus on the particulars of what is wrong with the game's limited game play. Most just say it has limited game play or that it's too heavy on the cinematics etc.
You, however expound on those sentiments and get right down to the nitty gritty. Thank you for letting us know that what game play there is is formulaic and downright dumb at times. That they failed to elevate the game play to the level of the presentation's polish is what I got out of this review.
But, you were fair here and gave credit where credit was due. The game is certainly very gorgeous and does a great job at style and presentation and I am certain the story is very well done which is why I want to play the game.
My point here is not to stroke Sammy's ego here but to point out that he dinged the game for not getting the game play elements right not that they share the spotlight with the story and presentation. Too many people are up in arms because it isn't the prototypical "game" and are therefore drubbing it for it's apparently very short play time.
Lots of lazy reviews about this game out there but this isn't one of them. Thanks Sammy for the professional review.

Re: Feature: What Do You Mean You've Never Played... Dragon's Dogma?

-CraZed-

@Splat Those were my favorite as well. DD was a very unique and surprisingly fun RPG. Sure the GFX sucked and it had some quirks and bugs but it was just FUN! The combat never got tired and that ingenious pawn system was tops.
I was really hoping that Capcom was going to release DD2 but alas, it seems as if Capcom just hates success. An MMORPG!? Really Capcom, really?

Re: Feature: What Will Sony Announce at PlayStation Experience?

-CraZed-

@Sanquine Because of this...
http://www.listwar.com/released-games/

It's not just all indie titles and even if it was so what? If the games are fun then what is wrong with them being "indie." I have owned just about every console since the Atari 2600 my dad first brought home for us and I have to say I have not used a console more in its first year since my PSone. And I have more demands on my time than at anytime in my past.
There are so many good games right now for the PS4 only being out a year.
And when Sony does start pumping out the exclusives it only gonna get better.

Re: Review: Resident Evil: Director's Cut (PSone)

-CraZed-

I remember playing a demo of RE1 at the mall and falling in love. I went to Sears with a couple of my friends from high school who wanted me to get NFL Game Day (which I eventually did get too) but after the demo I only had my eyes on RE. I bought despite their protests and telling how much it was gonna suck etc. etc. and then we got back to my house popped in the disc, darkened the room, closed all the shades and proceeded to scream like scared little b!(#e$! Wait what did I just describe there?

One of my most fond memories of the PSone days!

Re: Just What the Heck Is PS4's EMAGON?

-CraZed-

I'm guessing this has something to do with the Morpheus. Just read an article in the Financial Times on Sunday http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/e60b8d4a-773d-11e4-a082-00144feabdc0.html about how Sony is turning their focus onto VR and Morpheus is going to be their next emerging technology. Layton goes on to say that they are talking with everyone who might be able to bring VR content not just games.
With this vid being first person, and having what seems like a mix of video footage and CGI as well as that duplicitous slogan looks like it is meant to say "imagine" as well as " no game" it has to be something about VR.

Re: Capcom Teases New PS4 Title That Will Turn Heads

-CraZed-

Dragons Dogma 2 please!
But that was a multiplatform game last gen. So it's unlikely but maybe Sony saw the inherent potential in that game and locked up exclusivity for the sequel. Or maybe timed exclusive? Or just invited Capcom to announce it at PS experience?
Please, just let it be DD2.

Re: Ever Wanted to Know Why You Can't Change Your PSN Name?

-CraZed-

It's not like it is right out front, glaring at you when you view a person's profile. It's behind a very small tab next to your name. It's a great system and allows you to change your name at any time even if another user has already taken the name. It is a brilliant system especially when compared to both Sony and MS in which one charges you and the other doesn't even allow it!

Re: Ever Wanted to Know Why You Can't Change Your PSN Name?

-CraZed-

I have often advocated for Sony to adopt Steam's ID system. It is both user friendly and doesn't allow griefers or cheaters to just disappear into anonymity. I think if we keep up the pressure and stay vocal about it they will eventually buckle.
@Stuffgamer1: Yeah it can be a tad bit annoying to log in and not recognize a persons ID because they just changed it but it is a simple matter of checking their previous IDs to figure out who they are/were. It is a small inconvenience in favor of a much bigger convenience.

Re: First Impressions: How Well Does Assassin's Creed Unity Actually Run on PS4?

-CraZed-

@get2sammyb It most certainly was. I think the performance issues are mostly due to the larger number of NPCs than previous titles (ACIV included) and the AI required to run them and from what I have been reading its no picnic on the PC side either so me thinks this is just a shoddy job at optimization by Ubisoft.
Hopefully they'll be able to fix some of the issues in the patch(es) we know will be coming for this game.

Re: Let's Be Honest, Heavenly Sword: The Movie Looks Hellishly Bad

-CraZed-

#1 Hellishly bad is quite overstating it.
#2 its obviously been in production for a while and isn't the highest budget affair so it isn't going to be the best in terms of visuals. So I think we ought to cut it some slack there.
#3 It's Heavenly Sword which was a great game and since we haven't gotten a sequel this will have to do and I for one am excited about it. Blu-ray day one for me.

Re: Review: Child of Light (PlayStation Vita)

-CraZed-

@SimonAdebisi Buy the PS4 version and if you just absolutely have to play it on your Vita use the PS4 link. I played a fair amount of the game via remote play and it was great.

@Gemuarto Sad to hear. I thought it looked fabulous via remote play. Perhaps some network issues?

Re: Review: Blue Estate (PlayStation 4)

-CraZed-

@get2sammyb I played the demo and it reminded me of playing House the Dead:Overkill but nowhere near as good. Perhaps I should have tried the move controller and sharpshooter (not sure if it would even work) because having to aim with the controller was a chore. It felt like they knew it was bad which is why the added the recenter button in.
I like a good rail shooter but it has to work and this one just didn't

Re: Talking Point: Why Is Sony Saving Its PS4 Reveals Until the Last Minute?

-CraZed-

It is simply due to how well the PS4 is selling ATM. There is no need to just drop all their work-in-progress projects. If sales were in the crapper we might be getting more but that would only end up pumping up expectations and force Sony to put out half-baked products.
It is the smartest way to address this issue right now and I think the consumers are okay with it. Sony has a history of great first-party titles and with third party titles so far being better, for the most part, on the PS4 gamers are happy with waiting. I know I am.

Re: Review: Bound by Flame (PlayStation 4)

-CraZed-

@Madd_Hatter401 Keep going.. Give it some time I suspect that if you like ROGs you'll like the game. It has its warts, a lot of them, but the core of the game is fantastic. And the pawn system is very cool.
I really hope they come through with a next gen sequel.

Re: Sony Sorry to Keep You Waiting for PS4 Firmware Update 1.70

-CraZed-

The HDCP removal is HUGE! While most people will no doubt use the integrated features being able to use an external capture card gives the best results, especially for those wonderful comparison videos etc. SHAREfactory sounds cool even if there is still no direct YouTube upload option.

For me personally I am waiting for the ability to play my music, upgrade and fixes for the BR and DVD playback, DLNA, upgrade to the interface that allows me to actually organize my stuff and for them to finally make it easier to navigate and sort my some 1000+ PS downloads.

Re: Here's How Renting Games with PlayStation Now Will Work

-CraZed-

@rjejr I can't disagree with anything you said however this is supposed to extend beyond the consoles to devices that simply cannot handle that large of a DL so streaming is the only option when you are talking about playing directly through a TV, tablet r smartphone.
The idea is to make PS titles available anywhere you have an internet connection. I think some good feedback (and I sure hope you are providing it) Sony could be persuaded to allow a direct DL of rental titles to capable devices as the service matures but for now I think streaming has to be the focus to ensure they can make it work to its maximum potential.

Re: Rock Band Could Yet Make a Racket on Your PS4

-CraZed-

Sammy my friend there is a market for the Rock Band series and I am a part of it. Many of my PS3 RB mates are still playing and the forums are still alive and kicking.
I sold my PS3 to help pay for my PS4 purchase and of all the peripherals I had I saved my Move controllers (knew they come in handy on PS4) and my Rock Band gear! While I have no way to use them I have been holding out faith that Harmonix would come through with a next gen RB title.
I think it won't reach the heights of RB 2 or GH but they will sell a few discs and DL song titles with a next gen release. Trust me.
