Re: Cory Barlog Now Head of Creative at God of War Dev, Guiding the Long-Term Vision of the Series

@Accipitridae There's still mythology in this new game, & I think assuming it's become overwhelmingly nonsensical fantasy is silly given how little context we all still have. I missed one or two of the other names used, but one of the characters who seemed like a big antagonist mentioned Begste, a dharmapāla or war god in Tibetan Buddhism. Not to mention clearly many of the designs in this lengthy gameplay trailer were clearly referencing eastern Asian mythology. You can have your opinion that it's more fantastical in sense of scale I suppose, I'll agree with you there, but it's not anything that's that shocking. Especially compared to the mythological liberties taken throughout the series as a whole. It's pretty standard at this point & if people are tired of gow in general or something that's fine but saying that this is drastically different isn't very apparent other than the fact the main character isn't Kratos this time.

Re: ARC Raiders Replacing Some of Its Controversial AI Voices with 'Better' Human Ones

yohn777

Awful. This is one of the big first steps to people being totally fine with AI voices for characters. Soon there will be games with entire casts that aren't real people, & if the game is successful enough, I'm sure people will complain & maybe they'll replace the AI with actual voice actors. Then it'll just be a matter of time until there's a studio that does not care about doing the right thing & it won't matter if they're already making money.
I know a few months ago Expedition 33 was in some hot water for not being transparent about AI. I know the end product was great but this should be a reminder that there's no laws regulating this properly & devs can literally tell us whatever they want (they're not obligated to tell the truth) & pretty soon we won't be able to tell the difference.
This sh*t sucks.

Re: Starfield PS5 Announcement Imminent as Bethesda Shows Big Changes Behind-the-Scenes

yohn777

@Vaako007 Because it's the most expensive one of Sony, Nintendo, & Microsoft but there's no Sony or Nintendo games.. so it's not really worth it. Unless all you play is COD or Assassin's Creed or whatever. Casual gamers started to realize they don't actually care about having all the games on game pass & hardcore gamers want games better than Starfield or Redfall or Outer Worlds 2.

Re: 'Some of the Most Cinematic Experiences I've Ever Had': Guillermo del Toro Heaps Praise on God of War

yohn777

@nomither6 I don't really think that's accurate. I loved most if not all the God of War games I've put my hands on & I've been playing em since the original on PS2. I think there's a chance you're not considering how much more popular games are as a whole 20 years later. GoW (2005) eventually reached 4.6 million sales but, the best selling game of that year was Madden 06 at just under 3 million sales. My point is that GoW ended up being one of the best selling games for PS2. Which is particularly impressive for being a mature-rated new IP. Maybe I missed something where everyone suddenly hates the old games now or something but I think that might just be a vocal minority. Actually I usually see people complain about the new ones but the norse GoW games are pretty popular despite that.

Re: Returnal's Influence Expands with PS5 Roguelite Shooter ARMATUS

yohn777

@KeldorTheCursed Lol what do you mean it's crazy, Returnal is one of the absolute hardest games out there. I'd say it's easier to plat every souls game than it is to plat Returnal. I've put like 80 hours into it, & I'm sure it's cause I just need to get better, but I'm not even 1/3 of the way through the story yet. I love it but it's absolutely brutal, even compared to most roguelikes/roguelites

Re: Preview: Teamwork Is the True Terror of Little Nightmares 3

yohn777

Just cancelled my pre-order, had no idea this didn't have local co-op. I'm almost offended this article invokes the names of LBP & Split Fiction when this game doesn't even do local lol. Whole reason I got it was to play with my roommates.. Oh well, guess I'll watch it on yt or something & save some money.

Re: Reaction: PS Plus Essential Deserves Much More Credit for Its Free PS5, PS4 Games in 2025

yohn777

Pretty funny to me that Lies of P is somehow winning as the favorite so far, but it's still not available to download for Essential yet. I'm excited for that one too, been in my wishlist for a long while, but I have no idea if it's my favorite as I haven't even played it yet. Kinda weird that it's an option y'all even put in the poll since only people who've played before it was gonna be on PS+ know how they feel about that game. Anyway Balatro has been my favorite this year so far, that was my vote

Re: Poll: Are You Disappointed by the GTA 6 Delay?

yohn777

@PuppetMaster Ah, yes, I forgot all the other official "real articles" actually literally say article in the title! How silly of me! Get a grip. You're the one who's being a weirdo over semantics. I'm allowed to express my opinion, especially if all these lames can say they hate GTA on almost every GTA ARTICLE.

Re: Poll: Are You Disappointed by the GTA 6 Delay?

yohn777

@PuppetMaster Yeah no sh*t, dude. I was obviously & clearly talking about the comments. Aduh.
Btw "article" - a nonfictional prose composition usually forming an independent part of a publication (such as a magazine).
This is an article. Even if it's a poll. Lol.

Re: Microsoft Short Changes Indiana Jones PS5 by Only Putting 20GB on the Blu-ray

yohn777

Gotta sit there & wait regardless of it being physical or not so it doesn't really make a difference to me whatsoever. Sucks if you don't have internet tho, I guess the media overlords really have decided on a digital only gaming landscape for the future. Sometimes I wonder if pc players didn't stop buying physically if we'd be in this situation, or if it was always gonna go this way.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Split Fiction?

yohn777

@1UP-HUSKY I understand your sentiment but the entire point of the gameplay is cooperative puzzle solving. Or at least like half of the games content. If they made it single player they'd have to rework the mechanics of like, every stage. Also why is this game going to be unplayable in the future..?

Re: 2023's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Outsold Ubisoft's Outlaws in 2024

yohn777

@ChrisDeku You can claim it's mediocre if you wish, but 75% positive reviews is not "received poorly". Does anyone actually know how numbers work? You know that's out of a possible 100%, right??? Why does a game have to be a life changing experience for people to dare to admit a game could be good or even just average? Average does not equal bad. Honestly I've seen lots of hate, but probably equal amounts of people who really enjoyed it. I can't get over how when dozens of games journalists call a game decent but not fantastic, people interpret that as "oh so it's garbage?", like that's ridiculous.
Also the game didn't "fail", it probably has great sales & ubisoft was just expecting more numbers just from the star wars IP attached.
