Re: Returnal's Influence Expands with PS5 Roguelite Shooter ARMATUS

yohn777

@KeldorTheCursed Lol what do you mean it's crazy, Returnal is one of the absolute hardest games out there. I'd say it's easier to plat every souls game than it is to plat Returnal. I've put like 80 hours into it, & I'm sure it's cause I just need to get better, but I'm not even 1/3 of the way through the story yet. I love it but it's absolutely brutal, even compared to most roguelikes/roguelites

Re: Preview: Teamwork Is the True Terror of Little Nightmares 3

yohn777

Just cancelled my pre-order, had no idea this didn't have local co-op. I'm almost offended this article invokes the names of LBP & Split Fiction when this game doesn't even do local lol. Whole reason I got it was to play with my roommates.. Oh well, guess I'll watch it on yt or something & save some money.

Re: Reaction: PS Plus Essential Deserves Much More Credit for Its Free PS5, PS4 Games in 2025

yohn777

Pretty funny to me that Lies of P is somehow winning as the favorite so far, but it's still not available to download for Essential yet. I'm excited for that one too, been in my wishlist for a long while, but I have no idea if it's my favorite as I haven't even played it yet. Kinda weird that it's an option y'all even put in the poll since only people who've played before it was gonna be on PS+ know how they feel about that game. Anyway Balatro has been my favorite this year so far, that was my vote

Re: Poll: Are You Disappointed by the GTA 6 Delay?

yohn777

@PuppetMaster Ah, yes, I forgot all the other official "real articles" actually literally say article in the title! How silly of me! Get a grip. You're the one who's being a weirdo over semantics. I'm allowed to express my opinion, especially if all these lames can say they hate GTA on almost every GTA ARTICLE.

Re: Poll: Are You Disappointed by the GTA 6 Delay?

yohn777

@PuppetMaster Yeah no sh*t, dude. I was obviously & clearly talking about the comments. Aduh.
Btw "article" - a nonfictional prose composition usually forming an independent part of a publication (such as a magazine).
This is an article. Even if it's a poll. Lol.

Re: Microsoft Short Changes Indiana Jones PS5 by Only Putting 20GB on the Blu-ray

yohn777

Gotta sit there & wait regardless of it being physical or not so it doesn't really make a difference to me whatsoever. Sucks if you don't have internet tho, I guess the media overlords really have decided on a digital only gaming landscape for the future. Sometimes I wonder if pc players didn't stop buying physically if we'd be in this situation, or if it was always gonna go this way.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Split Fiction?

yohn777

@1UP-HUSKY I understand your sentiment but the entire point of the gameplay is cooperative puzzle solving. Or at least like half of the games content. If they made it single player they'd have to rework the mechanics of like, every stage. Also why is this game going to be unplayable in the future..?

Re: 2023's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Outsold Ubisoft's Outlaws in 2024

yohn777

@ChrisDeku You can claim it's mediocre if you wish, but 75% positive reviews is not "received poorly". Does anyone actually know how numbers work? You know that's out of a possible 100%, right??? Why does a game have to be a life changing experience for people to dare to admit a game could be good or even just average? Average does not equal bad. Honestly I've seen lots of hate, but probably equal amounts of people who really enjoyed it. I can't get over how when dozens of games journalists call a game decent but not fantastic, people interpret that as "oh so it's garbage?", like that's ridiculous.
Also the game didn't "fail", it probably has great sales & ubisoft was just expecting more numbers just from the star wars IP attached.

Re: Sony Promises It Hasn't Abandoned the Famous Franchises from Its Past

yohn777

@ecurb7 I already agreed with you that it's obviously money being the reason. No need to beat a dead horse. I pointed out that Sony perpetuates this line of thinking, it's likely why they had the ridiculous pursuit of those numbers in the form of Concord.
Just because Killzone was a first party game series doesn't mean it's AAA, that was literally why I pointed out how the last entry was a measly 10 hour experience. That isn't AAA budget. Just because people tried calling it "Halo Killer" doesn't mean it's AAA. Lots of games from lots of people were called "Halo Killer" lol.
It was almost like you went out of your way to ignore the entirety of my first response to you. All I was saying is it's been how many years since many of these other IPs have been dormant? Ape Escape, Lemmings, Twisted Metal, it's been so many years since there's been even an attempt at many of these games that it's kind of arrogant to assume that because they weren't smash hits at the time means that there's no hope for them to be successful if they were revived with a little attention to detail.
If that's something that doesn't interest the "general consumer" then fine. It would just be nice to see Sony actually start taking some chances more regularly instead of trying to make some cookie cutter thing that plays the same as 12 other super popular live service games or whatever. If you wanna leave past games in the past that's cool but I know lots of people love these games to this day & I don't see the harm if they tried to make a new entry for any of them.

Re: Sony Promises It Hasn't Abandoned the Famous Franchises from Its Past

yohn777

@ecurb7 Companies like Activision or Square Enix have warped your view of what is considered a successful game. Selling one or two million copies is successful for most games easily, the exception being the massive "AAA" budget games. As much as I hate the term, I'll use it for ease of communication to make my point; I wouldn't consider most of the games in that series specifically to be considered to be "AAA". Killzone Shadow Fall was only like a 10 hour long game, and while it was by no means cheap in any way, I think a 10 hour story is slightly short even for back then. I think 2.5 million or whatever the number was is pretty respectable.
The fact that people can't stop themselves from comparing these numbers to the ridiculous numbers that games like COD or GTA does is really upsetting tbh. It shouldn't need to be a '100 million units sold' idea for it to be considered successful. I know Sony is perpetuating this too, it at least makes sense from a soulless business perspective. I personally do not like when the profit of games have such influence over the creation of other games. I know there's an air of truth to your post, & sometimes companies have a hard time innovating with new ideas for sequels, but I don't honestly believe Sony would lose money for at least trying to revive an IP that people have been clamoring for. I think at worst they'd break even, but honestly after Astro we might actually start seeing an increase in interest for some of those older games. We'll never know until they actually try, I guess.
I digress. I last heard Guerilla people saying they were burnt out on the series or something & liked the new direction of Horizon much more than what they could do with Killzone.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Is the Most Successful Dragon Ball Game Ever in the US

yohn777

@rjejr I was confused about how it's possible you assumed this series was based on handheld games from this article. I don't care about bluesky.
The reason it was worded that way is because, like it's detailed in the article, this was a report from Mat Piscatella, an American games analyst. Bandai has not updated the official amount of sales since hitting the 3 million it did in 24 hours other than to reiterate that it's selling very well.

Re: Analyst Says Dragon Age: The Veilguard Had a Good, But Not a Great Launch

yohn777

@IntrepidWombat Ah, so each of your comments hold no value. 10 years, $200 million, 3.5 years, none of that was researched or mattered? You can't just say whatever you want & be like "Well?!?!". Like, it's just on me to do the work or take your word for it? Cool. Now I know to ignore all your future pointless comments, thanks!

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Huge PS5 Pro Enhancements Are a 'Vast Improvement'

yohn777

@RubyCarbuncle Just read the other comments, it's an obvious & noticable difference. I don't mind one way or the other if you do or don't want a PS5 Pro, I'm not trying to convince you of anything other than the difference in picture quality being measurably improved on it. I'm just gonna put out there that if you don't see a difference then you should consider seeing an optometrist, it's a clear change. I don't think Rebirth was a bad game but there were many many people who considered the picture quality in general to be subpar. The performance mode in Rebirth looks straight up blurry side by side even with Remake.
Also yes to my knowledge Sony games have very poor ultrawide support & tends to just stretch the image

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Huge PS5 Pro Enhancements Are a 'Vast Improvement'

yohn777

@RubyCarbuncle You should be able to see the difference much easier on a phone, given it has a screen higher than 480p. Most of the time these comparisons don't mean much on a tv, but when the screen is literally right in front of your face... Lol if you can't see any difference then you clearly don't have a keen eye for this sort of thing. Must be nice to not be able to tell when a picture is blurry

Re: PS5 Pro Can Run PS4 Games Better Via Improved Backwards Compatibility

yohn777

@GamerDad66 Not really. It makes some PS4 games have a bit more stable framerate, plus some games have that workaround that struggle to hit 60fps on PS5 can sometimes hit it perfectly playing the PS4 native version, but there aren't that many examples of this. That being said, I'm still not really sold on this Pro model. Not at that crazy price.
@McTwist I don't know why you're obsessed with this narrative that PS3 games are more graphically advanced than PS5 games, but you're just flat out wrong. It's okay to like PS3 games still but PS5 games look better than damn PS3 version RDR1 lol. Get a grip.

Re: Minecraft's Weird Live Action Movie Is Going to Be Massive, Isn't It?

yohn777

@Oram77 I get what you're saying but he's just doing what will make the zeros. He's been an actor for over 30 years, he isn't the absolute best but he has better roles, for sure. He was already pretty aggressively typecasted but it was probably around the time of Kung Fu Panda that he realized kids stuff were his much more successful movies.

Re: Suicide Squad Studio Hit with Layoffs After Poor Sales

yohn777

@CrashBandicoat This is a much more reasonable viewpoint than being blatantly incorrect & letting subjectivity influence the facts. Like I've already repeated, I was a big fan of Arkham games. But if anyone does want to feel that way, I guess I can't take that away from them? Lol. Apparently at least 7 other people agreed that AK looks better than just any game made in the last 4 years. I will have to agree that it's much better looking than Gotham Knights but I think it's a bad comparison because GK is not a very technically advanced game for when it released, unlike AK (not that they can't be compared I just think there's many more graphically bespoke games it can be compared to).
I think Returnal was a PS5 game that comes to my mind for having a similar enveloping atmosphere. Anyway that's enough from me about it

Re: Suicide Squad Studio Hit with Layoffs After Poor Sales

yohn777

@McTwist Did you actually read my comment? I said Arkham Knight was a banger, I loved it lol.
Lmao also I loved how you said "Show me another game where you can see stitching in the suits" then mentioned Spider Man.
Boom. Spider Man does. Thanks for bringing it up.
I'm not trying to come at you man, I literally agree with you that it's a great game, but it doesn't look as good as any PS5 game. Particularly Spider Man 2 & Horizon Forbidden West, again, hilarious you think Arkham looks better than those.
Even games like Alan Wake II or the Avatar game are actual years beyond Arkham Knight in terms of visual fidelity.

Re: Suicide Squad Studio Hit with Layoffs After Poor Sales

yohn777

@McTwist While I personally feel that Arkham Knight was a banger, an easy 9 or 10/10, it does not look "more detailed than any PS5 game". You have serious nostalgia goggles on if you think that's accurate. It was UE3 based, it's literally impossible for that claim to be true, even if you actually believe it.

Re: Online RPG Blue Protocol Shutting Down, Western Release Cancelled

yohn777

@Nem Good for you. Next time you have a point to make, respond to a commenter that actually says something relevant to what you're trying to talk about. My original comment was just responding to someone else entirely saying they were silly for not realizing how popular online games are. Even you admitted "player population is vital for these games to succeed", & there are online games new & old that have achieved this. So please, stop responding to me. Have a nice day.
