Re: Poll: What Is Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year 2022?

tinCAT-zero

Gran Turismo 7 is my top game of 2022.
I'm not going to renew my ps plus subscription though, as I'm sick of playing it online and getting rammed by morons.
There is tons to do in single player, even if it's only hot lapping. I got a Fanatec GT DD Pro 8nm a month ago. Love the feedback driving RWD japanese classic cars with sports or comfort tyres. I want to start drifting also. Driving bliss. I only use the 5nm power supply as I think it has tons of power.

I was lucky to get the Fanatec GT DD Pro last week and I'm back playing GT7. But now I'm playing it on my PS4 pro since I recently sold my PS5. I've decided I want a PS5 again because GT7 looks better on PS5, so it's back to square one looking for one 😖. On the bright side, I will only buy the 1200 series with the 6nm chip. So that'll be cool.

Re: Hands On: Resident Evil 4 PS5 Makes a Masterpiece Even Better

tinCAT-zero

I played the original on PS2 and loved it back in the day. Then a few years ago I tried to replay it on Wii and hated it. The graphics were muddy and I didn't like the Wii controls. They changed the way the game feels.

I had basically written the game off as rubbish. Then recently because if the remake in the works I thought I'd try the PS4 version. Wow is all I can say. It is absolutely incredible. I recommend it to anyone who has not played it on PS4 to do so now. It is so good. As for the tank control's, they are what makes the game what it is - a masterpiece. Proper old school.

Re: Sony Will Continue to Make PS4 Games Moving Forwards

tinCAT-zero

The way I see it is, the PS5 is a long ways from mass market penetration. I have a PS5 so I'm not moaning, but with the price hike and Sony are now even charging €70 extra for a pack-in Fifa download code which in the past would have been added in free. The price of the console wouldn't have increased in the past if a game was packed in with the console and the game would have been a physical disc so you could trade it if you wanted in CEX or somewhere.

So until the PS5 is a reasonable price Sony would be making a mistake ignoring the budget section of gamers who can't afford a PS5. Because MS are waiting in the wings with their budget Series s to snap them all up.

Curry's where I live were selling PS5 bundles yesterday. PS5 fifa 23 + headset + extra controller + Lego Star wars for €850
Are you having a giraffe? Most parents cannot afford that.

Re: Hardware Review: Sony INZONE M9: High-End Specs for a High Price PS5, PC Monitor

@Dan_ozzzy189
I know OLED is fantastic. I had an LG CX which I sold. Last year I went crazy buying TV's. The only thing that stopped me was I ran out of rooms in my house. I have a Sony X90H 55" in my living room and I have my X95H 65" in the games room. Basically a back bedroom / man cave. I also have a X95H 55" in my bedroom. Believe me the X95H is way better than the X90H. The picture is deeper, has more bite to it, more pop, basically incredible. When I connected my ps4 to it, it looked like all my games had a HD makeover. Plus it supports 120 fps at 1080p, possible 1440p but I'm not sure .

I would possibly buy an OLED in the future but it would definitely be a Sony because Sony's picture processing is far superior to LG's. I was constantly adjusting the picture when I had the CX. I don't have that issues with any of my Sony's.

I would pick LCD with local dimming zones over OLED all day. I had a LG CX, and great specs and all but the picture processing wasn't in Sony's league. Plus I was always worried about screen burn. Too many do's and even more don'ts with OLED. I managed to sell it at quite a loss and bought a 65" Sony X95H. I have never looked back. All my games look like they have had a hd makeover and no more worries about screen burn.

Re: The Last of Us: Part I (PS5) - A Better, More Beautiful Remake of a Modern Classic

tinCAT-zero

I don't normally read every word in a review. I sometimes, if not always just read the conclusion. Because it's such a beloved game to me, I read every word this time. I think I'm where everyone else is; I think it's worthwhile but only at €20.

The original PS4 remastered version is €20 and even can be got for half that in sale. The original is perfect and that's this versions problem.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.20 Adds New Cars, Track Layouts, and Menus

tinCAT-zero

Pretty good update. I must turn on my PS5 this evening. I find Gran Turismo 7 and all GT games to be very time consuming, which means other games don't get played. I backed away from it a little recently to play other games. I started playing Resident evil 4 hd on PS4.

I played it originally on PS2 years ago and loved it. Then a few years ago I played it on Wii, the supposed "best version" and absolutely hated it. Poor muddy graphics and the pointer is a waste of time and is not the original directors vision. Give me original tank control's any day. Anyway on PS4 it is epic. I'm having a ball. I'm going to give it a few playthrough's.

Re: Sony Ceases to Share Shipment Updates for PS4

tinCAT-zero

I love the PS4. I have 2 PS4 pro consoles, one in use and another new/sealed. I also have 2 slim PS4's, one in use and the other new/sealed.

The way I see it is; if Sony were actually making PS4's right now they would sell like hot cakes. Earlier this year Argos had a ton of stock and they flew out the door. I don't think it's fair to compare PS4 sales with the Switch as it is absolutely impossible to buy a brand new PS4 99.9% of the time.

Re: Nearly 80% of All PS5, PS4 Games Are Bought Digitally

tinCAT-zero

I like physical disc's much more than digital. That said I have bought a lot of digital games this year from the PSN store, all of which have been either not available on disc or have had deep discounted prices.

It's very hard to get a physical PS4 disc into a digital PS5. That's why I bought the full version PS5. It's also hard to sell a digital game if you get sick of it.

There is something reassuring about holding a game in your hand. You own it, you can play it on any PSN account and you can sell if you wish. Rant over.

Re: Best Racing Wheels and Sim Racing Setups for PS5, PS4

tinCAT-zero

I choose the G29 over the G923 because the G29 is compatible with PS3. From what I've read the Trustmaster t300 is an amazing wheel that is unreliable and badly designed and will stop working eventually. I very nearly bought one but read too many negative reviews from users.
The next option after the G29 is the fanatec GT DD Pro bundle for GT7 @ €700 and very hard to get as it always sold out on fanatec website. I might try and get one in the future but the G29 is amazing for playing GT7 daily races. Apparently the speed is in your braking technique which I'm trying to learn.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 433

tinCAT-zero

I had a Logitech g29 in the past and sold it, regretted selling it and bought another last week. This week I got totally addicted to racing in Watkins Glen in GT7's daily races.

Genuinely, you really feel like you are driving a real race car, having to pit and change tyres and push the car hard. One mistake and it's curtains. It's incredible.

Re: Soapbox: I Tried So Hard to Like Elden Ring, But I Just Couldn’t Do It

tinCAT-zero

My first souls game was Bloodborne. It took me a couple of attempts with it, but it finally bit, and I absolutely loved it. I then tried demon's souls on PS5 and on the whole I loved it. Then I played dark souls remastered and I have to say it has moments that are mind blowing brilliant, a lot of moments.

Where I am now is; I think I hate dark souls and demon souls because they are way to heavy and dark mentally. I need a break of about 5 years to recover. As for Elden Ring, it'll be fairly discounted when the time comes, that I would want to put myself through the torture all over again.

Re: Resident Evil 2 (PS5) - A Cheap and Fairly Cheerful Upgrade

@WaveBoy
Tbh I didn't play/test the game that much. My tv will handle 120fps and for the bit I played I didn't notice any problems, either with the frame rate or picture quality at 1080p in higher frame rate mode. In ray tracing on mode I could see stutter. The other 2 modes looked brilliant and seemed buttery smooth to me. I didn't notice the picture taking a hit in higher frame rate mode, but I barely played it.

I play on a Sony X95H 65" TV.
